Well the suicidal idiot is a teenager who discovered she is a lot more powerful than a normal human so it isn't surprising. Now what I can see you arguing is why someone who is used to being protected is so into jumping into the fray. For now I guess its better to wait until everyone gets past this part. Right now Yuki or Akane don't have weapons to fight incorporeal creatures, but later on if everyone doesn't run off again I'm sure we will be more successful.

Well, the first attempt on the princess's life didn't exactly go any better. The only thing anyone except the princess was able to do was kill limitless, unimportant mooks. Now there's an enemy that all of two characters can do anything about, and one of them is unoccupied, and the other probably won't get to do anything because it's already shown it can trivially avoid their sword.

The first time it was supposed to be a fight we weren't going to necessarily win (The GM said that) this time is more something another player thought of. While it wouldn't have been my first thought since it felt rather random it seems that most players are entertained by this. I was going to post if I wasn't studying for my exams. If I did it would involve Akane trying to get the enemy's attention while Kouko strikes. Its something both Yuki and Akane can do.

There's 'not winning' and 'not making a difference at all'. If you removed every character except Mizuki from the scene, it wouldn't really affect anything.

'The enemy is hopelessly better than you' only really works at the start of something if the characters are total novices. <_<

I guess the best conclusion to draw from this is that maybe I SHOULDN'T have toned Yuki down from the original concept.

Well stopping Mizuki from even being hurt by that master Ninja was essentially supposed to be winning, but I do agree that the power levels in this does vary a whole lot making me think what was the hard limit. I was trying to keep Akane toned down so she wouldn't essentially be the Feudal Japan's version of batman with a weapon for dealing with humans, Demons, and Spirits in a variety of ways. I think what would be an issue for the GM is finding good challenges that the whole team can fight without it being a stomp either way.

Edit: Okay reading through some of this again it does seem like the master ninja is good enough to kill the Princess at any time no matter what. At least according to SF's post. Alright I can see how the enemy being that good is an issue.

Original concept for Yuki's abilities was Fake Assassin. From F/SN.

I can see why you would think about toning Yuki down a bit then.

Hanzo was simply a boss the group is currently not ready to face.

I had to make the opponents hard because almost everyone in the group is highly skilled enough to take out armies. And eventually in the rp get even more powerful.

Akane, Kouko, Yuki, and Kaede's opponents are still defeatable, they just can't go slashing about it without thinking.

The harder part (at least until the next boss) was suppose to be like a day or two while opponents would be a bit more easier then simply getting mauled.

But, if you don't like it here. I understand since this is my first rp Gming, then your free to leave,

This results in devaluing the characters' skills to the point they're more or less useless. :/

Their skills are with actual physical enemies. Not evil spirits.

I'm sorry, but I had to make them somewhat useless for the plot Rusalka wanted. AgAin, if you don't care with how I'm working, you can drop out.

Akane would probably be able to figure it out the best because she is a Demon Slayer.

One player wants something, so you'll sideline everyone else? Um... doesn't that seem unfair to you?

That's not what I was talking about, anyway. I was talking about the first fight. By making the initial opponents far too much for the characters to handle, it makes supposed starting skills worthless (because there's no opportunity to utilise them and demonstrate anything) and all in all gives a terrible impression of the characters to each other.

Perhaps but I also suspect that the group will split up from time to time. Hard to keep all 7 people of so in line. I'd do the same for any player for their side quest ideas as well.

They demonstrated they can survive pretty well and think on their feet. Kaede showing she is very durable to poison and be hit multiple times by shuriken. Asuka showing she's ferocious in battle but also smart about it by bringing sword on fire to kill puppets, Hanami showing her arrows really have purification properties, Kouko showing her agility and attacking the source of the problem and distracting him enough away from his control and so on.

The initial opponents were the bear and the mysterious man. Which were defeated once the spirit was purified. Only reason there were still so many puppets is because no one broke the orb.

And they already had somewhat of a terrible impression of each other when they met. Well most of them.

Actually I am wondering if Hanzo is someone they aren't ready to face then when would they be ready? Technically I'd say some of the group seem to be as high as their going to get in skill. I guess you could say when they learn his technique? Since your new at this I can understand the difficulty with dealing with all these power levels. Just for the future it would be better to know a hard limit for power levels players can get. If not you will get half the group having players that would fit into Dynasty Warriors when the strongest enemy can barely fight 30 people at once XD

If Lu Bu was a ninja I'd declare every Dynasty Warriors game broken. You can barely win against him when he's loud and obnoxious. Now the dude is super sneaky. lol

Yeah Hanzo isn't a foe they are ready to face. As a ninja, he's not just going to run up to someone like Kaede or Yuki and go "YOUR DEAD SON! YOUR MOTHER *+=]{*}]{}^*+{^} DEAD SON!" *shot for lame referance*

Which is why he really as only just observing the groups techniques and not really participating.

God I remember fighting him on like the first battle. I cooped with my mother on Dynasty Warriors and basically when we had level 1 characters fighting Lu Bu on level 1....

Technique: Hit. Ruuuuuun! Hit.. Ruuuuun

I really don't think there's anything wrong with Silver's GMing. :3 And it makes sense that not everyone can fight the shadows, since um... The only person who stated they had any spiritual influence on their CS was me, so it would make sense that Hanami is the only one who should be effective at killing shadow demons. >.> We can't all be good at fighting every type of battle or that would um... pretty much ruin the whole point of working as a team to protect Mizuki..
