The woman suddenly had an arm linked with the other girl Rika's and she was pulled along. After taking a second to process this, she smiled and secured one arm to go along with Rika's while the other held the makeshift cane. Aleecia had heard her name somewhere before since they had come into the same room during a few encounters, but this was the first time she had actually been formally introduced to the girl that spoke with cassette tapes.
"U-Um-" She was about to say a reply back, when the cassette seemed to reply for here. She sighed a little, finding it a little funny, and decided to just let the other girl pull her along.
It seemed that they were in the break room where everyone had gathered. Aleecia listened as they came in, a few seconds after the Infinite Monk had begun talking. Mondatta spoke that giving the gifts to the expected receiver did not mean any ill intention and Aleecia smiled at that. Apparently, he had given the gift to someone else.
The scent of food and coffee was in the air, and Aleecia scrunched her eyebrows as she became worried about the girl next to her. So far, she had noticed that Rika only used cassette tapes to speak for her and hadn't spoken with her voice. Since Aleecia couldn't see, she didn't know that the girl's mouth was covered in the first place, so she automatically thought something must be wrong with her vocal cords to cause her to be a mute. While the voices put the girl a little on edge, she wasn't about to put that as a barrier between her friendship with the other girl.
Another guy started talking about how they couldn't 'blindly trust each other' and Aleecia shivered a little. The thoughts that had been in her mind last night enveloped her as she thought about the situation she was in. Soon, Aleecia was holding on to Rika's elbow tighter, her cane knocking against the ground. While the man that smelled of coffee was talking about setting rules and things to help them all out, his original topic was making the mood of the room tense.
Many people started talking after that. Some boy, the one Ice had been fighting with earlier gave some of his ideas with a lot of swears, another girl started raising her opinion and trying to create more peace, before Ice himself started going on a long rant. His voice was coarse and sounded like it was in pain, while by the end of his words, he talked about having people in charge of nursing and the like, which Aleecia thought was actually a good idea.
And then there was a loud thud. Rika slipped away from her and went to go investigate, speaking off the causes of fainting, while a bunch of other people talked over one another, some even making puns. Aleecia stayed where she was, not wanting to get in anyone's way. It was somewhat alarming that he wasn't waking up though.
A younger girl's voice came through the crowd and Aleecia turned towards it. She sounded a little scared, but was still doing her very best to get through her speech. She spoke of kindness and working together, even though she was suffering from a serious heart condition. Aleecia started walking over before she realized, knocking the cane back and forth so she wouldn't run into anyone. When Aleecia could tell she was at least facing the right direction in front of the smaller girl, she got down on her knees next to Mondatta.
"Let's all get through this together, 'kay?" While the woman was blind, she really did love the sort of things like holding hands and hugging. But her lack of sight led her to be scared to initiate that kind of contact. Aleecia couldn't pick up the cues or if they didn't like to be hugged or anything. The worst of it was that she could outright try to hug a person from the wrong direction. She settled for patting the girl on the head, reaching up really high above the girl before softly bringing her hand down and ruffling the girl's hair.
