Do you think God stays in heaven because he too lives in fear of what he's created?

Where do bad rainbows go? To a prism. It's a light sentence, but it gives them time to reflect.

While Sonny Drake was more than excited to finally start his final year at King’s Academy, what he could do without were the classes. His teachers weren’t particularly horrible or annoying like the ones he had in the three years prior to 2018, but god, they pitched the same BS that made Sonny want to kill himself. The same ‘Welcome back’, same ‘this is your final year’ bullshit that made the teen regret not taking up his parents’ offer to homeschool him. Though, that probably would’ve ended up being just as torturous as what he had to go through for the fourth time now.

And he never thought he’d say this but thank GOD for Santiago Fernandez. The second that word spread that Mr. Tuco Salamaca himself was throwing a pool party, regardless how he might feel about the man and how he has caused some uneasy mood swings with his close friend, Stella, Sonny was ready to let loose, forget about school, and cause a little trouble; and not necessarily in that order, either. The good thing about it being a pool party, Sonny didn’t have to fumble into his walk-in closet on the Friday evening after finishing his shift at Asgard Fitness about what he was going to wear. A simple pair of dark blue swimming trunks from his father’s time as a teen and a white tank top was all that the boy needed.

As soon as he had taken a shower and got himself dressed, Sonny was practically out the door, texting Marisol. That was, of course, until he met his own little blocker of sorts.

“Mom, I’m kind of in the middle of going somewhere.”

Sonny’s mother, Viola Banks-Drake, had her arms crossed over her chest, looking at her son with what could only be described as a disapproving glare. “Are you forgetting something?”

“No but I’m sure you’re going to tell me.”

“It’s Friday.”

“Gee, mom, I didn’t know that. Thank you so much for that vital piece of information,”

He saw that she rolled her eyes at his unwanted snark. “Today is the annual Drake Family Night.”

Oh. “Fuck, that’s tonight!?”

Viola shook her head. “Honestly, JJ, what am I going to do with you? Your father is usually the one who gets on top of these things, but he’s stuck at work, so it’s just the two of us.”

Sonny let go of whatever attitude he had. It was unlike his mother to show such..such - well, venerability in front of him, so he figured the least he could do was not to sass her like he liked to. Instead, he let out a defeated sigh and gave her a sympathetic look. “I know Dad is working late tonight. He told me a bit of it when I had my after school shift over at the Asgard building. He said something about a shipment of the wrong energy drinks coming in and that’s why he’s not home yet.”

Viola nodded, "he called me just an hour ago with the same news. I’m bummed if I’m being honest.”

“Mom, what’s wrong? You’re not usually like this.”

She sighed, “okay truth is, we wanted to talk to you about something important. Preferably, it was going to be a surprise, but I guess Jackson won’t totally kill me if I told you myself.”

“And what would that be?” Sonny asked, equally curious and confused.

She took in a deep breath and spoke. “We’re worried about you, Sonny. We know all of your friends have shown interest in college and you haven’t said a single thing. Even Kavi, that Salvador kid, has stated he’s going to the University of Florida--”

“So he says,” Sonny said under his breath, earning a disapproving glare from his mother.

“This is serious, Jackson Torvald!

And there she was. Sonny was beginning to wonder where his mother was hiding. “Ouch. The middle name too. This must be the real deal,” he joked, keeping on with his attitude.

“Do you not have any plans to pursue your education past high school?”

That was a good question. Sonny honestly wasn’t looking that far ahead. If he was being totally honest, the teen was mostly focused on getting through his final year at King’s Academy. Any plans past the graduating year of 2019 wasn’t a big concern to him. And why should it? Who said that Sonny had to make any huge life decisions? He could take a year or two to think it over. With how good he has it at home and how he’ll likely move up the ranks at his father’s gym that he co-owns with Marisol’s mother, he’s set.

“I can’t do this now. I’m late for the party,” Sonny fumbled for his words, brushing past the subject - and with a gentle nudge -his mother.

“But Sonny--”

Before he could hear what she had to say, Sonny had left the house and was in his truck. He sat there on his phone as he texted the following to Marisol.

I'm in my parking lot. Be here in 10 minutes.

Something that Kai noticed almost instantly when he ventured closer to the northern mountains was just how harsh the weather was. The closer to the mountains it seemed that he got, the worse the snowstorm seemed to be. He thought it wouldn’t be so bad, so against the voice in his head telling Kai to turn back, he proceeded past the point of no return. As it would turn out, however, Kai would come to regret this.

When the storm waged on, Kai didn’t know left from right. No matter where the blond teen looked, all he saw was snow, wind, and depleting temperatures. While the clothing he had on surprisingly provided him with enough warmth to protect him from the dangers of frostbite, they didn’t, however, give him any idea where he was nor did they even have any hidden voice mechanism that could actually point him in the right direction. Truly, as Kai finally accepted the fate, he was lost - and in more ways than one. He had no idea where he was and in a figurative sense, Kai was lost.

And boy did it depress him out.

Just as the boy was about to give up hope, something called out to him. He didn’t know if it was an actual light from somewhere close or if something else was at play, but as he looked around, a bright, warm light that created a trail of sea-colored particles, Kai kicked the horse’s sides. “Yah!” The horse neighed and he was going as fast as the horse he rode on would allow him. Much to his delight, it brought him to some sort of cabin that had its own horse stable.

As Kai would anchor the horse in the stables, letting it feed off the straw and take in some warm water, Kai entered the cabin. He wasn’t exactly sure what to say about it. There was this very homey feel about it. Various items of clothing that fit the kind of weather outside were in stock, though Kai’s wandering gaze went from the boots and scarfs on the wall to a man who stood taller than even the roof itself. A tall man dressed in a fur scarf was taller than three Kais put together. He was pale-skinned and had blond hair much like Kai himself did. Whoever this guy was, the smile on his face sure didn’t fit the monstrous vertical frame he had.

“Uh..hi..”

“Hello!” The tall man said with a smile, looking down at the young Kai, “how may I help you?”

“You’re...big.”

“Why yes, I am, sonny boy.”

Okay, so after the moment of being surprised at someone this tall, Kai shook his head. “I was hoping you could--”

“Attention good sir! I require some assistance,” Kai couldn’t help but notice a man force himself into the cabin, thusly interrupting him.

“Excuse me! I was here first!” Kai protested, walking up to the slightly bulky man.

He looked at Kai, brushing him aside. “Sorry boy, but I have some manly troubles,” he walked up the counter, “gotta get some straw for Sven.”

“Hello.”

“So yes, as I said, I need some help. Can you help me, cabin person?”

“I can, yes. What do you need, sir?”

Kai felt insulted. He was here first, so he should have first dibs at the service this tall cabin keeper provided. “I was here first!”

“Hold your jets, little man. I just need one thing and I’ll be out of your way.”

As this guy would soon realize, Kai wasn’t one to wait around, let alone let this guy walk all over him. So in response, Kai shoved him out of the way. “Learn proper manners, old man!”

And thus began the struggle between Kai and whoever this guy was. When Kai shoved him, he shoved back. Punches were thrown and names were thrown out there in the open. After a while, it seemed like the two would then break out into a song, singing about the woes of being a man and how patience was for children. Granted, Kai was technically a child, but he wasn’t about to give up.

...Well, that was until the shop owner put an end to that. “Okay, that’s enough of that,” he said, holding both males by the collar of their shirts. “Boy, what is it you need from me?”

“I came here from the Castle. I’m looking for Princess Anna.”

“Oh! Why didn’t you say so?” He said, giving Kai the impression that he knew something, “she’s over there,” he looked to the back room.

Kai was let go and he ran towards the back room. Meanwhile, the guy tried to force his way free by karate chopping the man’s arm. As one might surmise, that didn’t go according to plan.

“If you wanted free, all you needed to do was ask, sir,” the man said, dropping him down to the ground.

“Is this how you treat all your customers?"

“Only those who don’t behave.”

He huffed and followed Kai.

As Kai went to the back room, he saw Princess Anna resting on a bed. He rushed over to her. As fate would have it, she started to wake up the moment he was at her bedside.

“KAI!” Anna’s eyes were wide open at the sight of a familiar face, “what are you doing way out here?”

“I came looking for you. Well, I and Cielle went looking for both you and your sister,” he admitted.

They both hugged and she stood up. Off in the distance, she saw another familiar face. “Kristoff! I thought you went back to those trolls?”

Kai looked back and saw it was the man from before. “You know him?”

Anna nodded, “that’s Kristoff. He helped me get here. I didn’t think he’d make it back, though. I’m glad he made it here, too.”

Kai wasn’t sure what to make of this, but he didn’t have time to ponder these new names. He had to focus on what was more important and that was getting Anna to Elsa and getting himself to Cielle. “Did you happen to see Cielle on your way here?” Kai asked though she shook her head. “What about your sister?”

As Kai asked that, Kristoff spoke up, “I might know the answer to that,” he confessed.

“What do you know, Kristoff?”

“I saw some blonde head tot he northern mountains. My best bet is that she’s there.”

“Then that’s where we shall head too!” Kai seemingly decided for the entire group.

“Absolutely not! It’s a madhouse out there. And why are you so interested in finding the queen?”

“Because my friend is there. She might be in danger. Plus, I need to apologize to her,” Kai admitted

Anna looked at Kai with a curious expression, though she could see the conviction in his eyes. Even if something might’ve happened between him and Cielle, she could see that he wanted to make it right. “Well, I’m going too. I need to find Elsa!”

Kristoff shook his head. “I can’t believe how nuts you two are being,” he sighed, looking at them, “fine, I’ll go too. I know a shortcut. It shouldn't’ take us more than an hour,” he told them.

And so they were off. With a reindeer, three humans, and a horse, they made their way through the frozen wilderness, across a bridge or two, and eventually made their way to the mountains. To their surprise, however, it seemed like there was more than just a simple mountaintop. There was no real way to describe it. It was..

“A frozen castle?”
In the span of just a few, long moments, Jaakuna had experienced an all-time high after he saw that his diversion worked long enough to seriously damage Rio. Even someone as frequently ignorant like Jaakuna Darcone saw as clear as day that his purifying fire and Shion’s Light dealt a major blow to the artist formerly known as The Creature. It was a proud moment that he owed everything to Shion and Belias. However, just as he was feeling proud of himself and wanting to take a moment to bask in his own glory, the blond soon noticed that not everything was as it appeared to be.

Stand ready. He comes. Belias had warned Jaakuna, but nothing could warn him for the gut-wrenching pain that was his beloved getting shot through the heart. And Jaakuna, despite his overwhelming power, was to blame because he could not stop the copy of Rio that hurled a sword straight for Emiri - not even Shion could stop the cruel act with her impromptu barrier.

As Jaakuna was about to rush over to her side, knowing full well that his elevated powers could get her out of the dire situation Rio has created for her, he was blocked by the lack of light within the dome of darkness that Rio created previously. In addition to that, every time that Jaakuna tried to move an inch, he felt the touch of dark magicks block him. If it wasn’t for enhanced senses, he would be blind in this darkness. It was thanks to Shion’s Light that Jaakuna was able to anticipate the attacks of the shadow clones. When they came at him, he dodged, parried, and counterattacked. And as well as it was going for him, it seemed endless

"You'll pay for that!"

And so Jaakuna decided to create an opportunity from within the dome itself. Building it from his hands and deep into his body, Jaakuna suddenly was radiating a bright light around him -almost like a mild aura that illuminated parts of the dome. At that moment, the blond prince saw where the shadows were and with several, precise strikes from his twin swords, Jaakuna vanquished them all and would turn his attention on Rio. His love for Emiri lit a fire inside his belly and with rage being his main motivator, Jaakuna pounced. His swords shot forth two streams of Firaja while he zipped through each stream, using his new-found ability of Fire Teleportation, when the fire would near Rio’s body, Jaakuna appeared above the man. Within seconds, Jaakuna kicked into the fire with a flarega-infused fist, exploding on impact while also giving Rio a first-hand account of the Firaja streams and how painful it would be.

It wasn’t long at all when Wesley and Grant had arrived where Nadeline was in the process of getting knocked left and right by what appeared to be Ren. He nor Grant had the time to question why, of all people, Ren was attacking Nadeline. The only thing that the two men had on their minds was making sure she wouldn’t harm the blonde princess any further. And at the moment that Ren went to deliver was could only be surmised as a final strike, Wesley and Hashmal prepared to intervene, but something got in their way.

“What the--”

A portal of various colors appeared before the two and as they went to strike, the two men, as well as their espers, were teleported above them. It was then that Wesley noticed something was off. Not only were they above Ren and Nadeline, but it seemed there was some kind of force that was prohibiting them to move. One thing that the Dalmascan King noticed was that the force keeping them at bay was stronger than anything Wesley had ever experienced.

“Grant! We’re stuck up here!” Wesley said, trying his best to break free of the invisible prison that he and Grant and their Espers were in.

As he could do nothing but look on, Wesley’s heart was pounding a million beats per second as he saw Ren aim her sword high and poised it to strike fast. Tear flew from his eyes and the worst thing imaginable crossed his mind. He closed his eyes. Wesley couldn’t bear to witness the end of his love in front of his very eyes.

“Wesley, it is not over. Open your eyes,” Hashmal suggested.

And so he did. To his surprise - and likely even more surprised, Grant - the sight of an unlikely group of four people appeared before them, blocking young possessed Ren’s attack. Wesley saw Michel was among them. The other one, of course, was Ivy, the one who caused many troubling comments for Michel and his girlfriend, Meli. But to his surprise, along with Meli, Wesley didn’t believe it at first, but with them was…

“Miss me Grant darling?” Leviathan blew a kiss at Grant, her bare hand stopping the attack of Ren. She smirked as it seemed Michel, Ivy, and Meli were pretty content with the current situation at hand.

“My apologies, Nadeline. We were fooled into thinking the waystone we took would lead us to you. In actuality, it led us straight to Venat’s stronghold. But fret not, it wasn’t all bad. We’ve discovered something crucial to--”

Levi hissed, urging Michel to shut up. “Now is not the time, Michelangelo. We have to deal with this one.” Briefly, Levi looked up. “My apologies, King Wesley and Princey-Poo. Your attack would have caught Nadeline in the crosshairs. Plus, Little Ren here isn’t exactly someone who is in her right mind.” Levi hummed, a dark energy surrounding her hand, dissolving the sword that Ren had in her hand and forcing the girl back about five paces. And as soon as she did that, Levi snapped her fingers, dissolving the barrier that kept Wesley and Grant suspended in the air.

Wesley and company dropped to the floor and he couldn’t shake this uneasy feeling of Levi’s presence. “While I appreciate the assistance, what is this about, Levi? Why are you here?”

Ivy looked between the two, snickering to herself, yet she said nothing about what was really going to happen.

“All in good time. First thing’s first! We have to cleanse this one here,” Levi said, her palm radiating with a dark, yet non-evil, magick. As she would be covered in purple energy, from a small portal to her right, a little serpent-like creature crawled up her body, latching itself around her neck. “Zodiark: Cleansega!” She commanded, a fierce scream came from the little snake and froze Ren in her place.
