Erebus couldn't help but admire the girl's tenacity. When push came to shove and the gauntlet had been thrown her first instinct had been to stand her ground and draw a weapon. Which in itself was a bit surprising, he knew she had powers and expected them to be her first line of response when confronted, he knew they had something to do with light manipulation and expected the aura of light shining from behind here had something to do with them but they did seem to be adding much offensively.
“Baseball bat bit of an odd weapon for a super cop isn't it?” Erebus asked nonchalantly, his right hand reaching for the back of his belt where his knife and baton were strapped,he held it there for a moment, deciding which of his weapons was best for the given situation. He certainly didn't want to kill her, not really his style and to much attention, and the garrote wasn't nearly as effective if he couldn't catch them by surprise. Deciding he drew the baton, giving it a quick flick of the wrist as he did so, snapping it out to it's full thirty-one inch length, might as well keep things fair .
“That chief of yours not trust you supers enough for the real weapons, not deep enough in her pocket to ensure you'll behave?” Erebus continued, lower his stance and drawing back his baton slightly so he'd be ready to react if Lumineer made a move.
