Alanna stepped out of the managers office and sighed deeply, partly from relief and partly from tiredness, but either way it was finally over. 13 years of service to MDY and all she got was a card, better than nothing she supposed but still. Taking her jacket off of its hook in the locker room she took a second to admire the printing on the back "Sienn Eswo" it read. A gift from her father to her mother long before Alanna was born. "Sienn" her mothers first name and Eswo was along the lines of "My beloved" when translated from Ryl to basic. Alanna thought it was all a bit cheesy, maybe that's why her mom always left it on the ship, but there was clearly love that had gone into it.
Stuffing her overalls into her backpack she left the locker room for what would hopefully be the final time and made her way through the halls of the Drive Yard towards the shuttle bay. In a perfect world Alanna should have been happy that she was leaving work and going home but in all honesty there was just too much going around her head for her to even smile at the thought. Between Jiari revealing that she was… gifted to the family at the twins 7th birthday and Firith whining that life wasn't fair because he could make the book move with his mind like his sister could, life wasn't exactly peaceful at home. And of course it was nearing that time of year again, a trip to Saleucami for her and Sable, though if Sable started on his wild conspiracy theory that it was her brother who sold them out to the Hutts then he would be turned off, maybe permanently, a thought she couldn't help but smile at.
As she walked past the droid workshop she sighed with relief at never having to put in another shift in that sweatshop, between the cramped conditions between the racks of droids or the very male dominated space in which she worked. Alanna entered the workshop to collect a few final things from her workbench but didn't intend to stay long, yet she couldn't help but find herself staring out the window which sat opposite the bench, watching as ships of all shapes and sizes flew past, it was almost like a tranceto her, even though if she stayed too much longer she might miss her shuttle.
Alanna was caught quite off guard by her Mirialan friend sneaking up on her. Gasp "Hey Ezali, you scared me there, I was in my own little world for a moment there. And 'Grumpy-bot' is probably…" Alanna looks down at her watch "Out yelling at the market vendors because their vegetables aren't up to his standards." Alanna smirked at that inage. "And anyway, you know he's not allowed on the ring, at least when I'm working and not able to supervise him, you remember what happened last time, he put construction of one of the mooring clamps back two weeks because he claimed he could do the job better than the construction droids."
"But I'm glad you're here anyway, I was just finishing and the shuttle leaves in like 10 so if you want a lift planetside you're more than welcome to catch a ride with me."
Pop, Crackle "Shit." thunk. Alanna threw the multi-tool on the floor and wiped the dirt from her face as the Astromech that had just short circuited on her hit the floor of the rafter overlooking the observation deck. Considering today had to be damn near perfect, her work day couldn't have gotten off to a worse start. The journey to work had been fairly normal, a kiss on the forehead of the twins, a kiss with Laars returning from a long night shift of putting in the new observation deck on the MDY ring. And a shuttle ride contemplating all the cock ups she's probably going to have to fix. Nothing so far had gone right, three of the maintenance droids had blown their servos because some idiot put too much weight on them and it seemed as though a Gremlin had gone after some of the Astromechs as they had spent all morning short circuiting. Probably Sable's fault.
Checking her watch she noticed that it was almost time for the ceremony to start. It was odd for her to think that in a few years time perhaps the twins would be down there. Firith was already showing signs of wanting to join the military, though he was only seven so he might just think that the starships are cool.
As she sat on the gantry completely ignoring whatever her responsibilities were, Alanna found herself staring into the void above her and wondering about all the ways her life could have been so different. Would she trade Laars and the twins for any of them, absolutely not, but it was nice to imagine. She also found herself staring at the various ships of Open Circle Fleet and picking out the ones she'd worked on.
As her radio kicked into life and the voice of her supervisor came through wondering where she was Alanna was brought back to reality. As she stood up she caught sight of a CR-90 flying past the ring and was reminded of the concert that was coming up and that Sable would be taking the twins to it so she and Laars could have a night alone for the first time in a long time. Though if Sable could get her an autograph as well she'd make sure he was rewarded, no way Alanna would let on that she would listen to Paff's music on repeat while in the shuttle rides.
Sable
"Oh woe is me. A near immortal machine of unparalleled killing potential, reduced to this. sigh." "Sable can I have more milk?" The voice of a young girl cried from the dinner table behind him. "Of course Master Jiari." Sable replied with a slight hint of exasperation in his voice. So Sable's morning began much the same as it had begun everyday for the last seven years or so; 6:15: wake the twins for school, 6:45: Make sure the Twins are showered, 7:00: Wake Master Alanna for work, 7:05: prepare breakfast for the twins, possibly Alanna if she asks, 7:45: Take children to school, 8:30: return home and begin daily chores; cleaning, vacuuming, any cooking for the evening and go grocery shopping. And if he was back early enough then maybe, just maybe he could enjoy an oil bath before the twins and Alanna came home.
Seven long years of being reduced to a domestic servant bot. Any normal droid with his level of sentience would have most likely grown to resent Alanna for this, but not Sable, Sable understood that while this life was certainly different to the one he had a few hundred years ago, it was equally as important to the family he serves. For Alanna to put her children's safety in Sable's hands, even for the short walk to school, it takes an incredible amount of trust on her part. And even though Sable found the tasks on his daily to-do list mundane to put it mildly, he would still achieve them to the best of his ability.
By this time Sable was an established sight around the area, no one questioned what an HK droid was doing with with two small children, or why he was buying meat and vegetables, it was just the norm now. And while most people would listen to music while shopping Sable had a different way to pass the time. Listening to secure channel comm traffic, 100% a crime, probably, but they'd yet to kick him off and besides what Alanna doesn't know he's doing won't hurt her. As Sable went about his business two rather interesting calls went over the comms. Some loser from the Hapes consortium coming to do diplomacy was of no concern to him, but the arrival of a Corellian ship could only mean one thing, that annoying pop star had arrived. He'd known for a while that he was escorting the Twins there and back, maybe he'd listen to some Rapdekka while that noise was going on. But that was a problem for future Sable to deal with, for now it was back to scrutinising vegetables.
Standing at just over 5’5 Alanna inherited both her mother's looks and her height. Being the daughter of a former dancer in a Hutt palace has meant that even after having a set of twins she still maintains a good figure and looks. She sports deep blue skin and deep green eyes with deeper blue veining running down her Lekku. Owing to her more pistol centric style of combat ALanna chooses to wear lighter gear into combat, her outfit usually consisting of a leather undershirt to aid in dampening blaster impacts a light brown overshirt and a green pilots jacket worn open to aid in concealing the holster of her RSKF-44.

Pistol Marksman: Since settling on Mandalore Alanna knew that she would still need to know how to defend herself, simply relying on Sable all her life would only get her killed. As such she chose to have Sable train her in the art of Blaster Pistols. Her trusty RSKF-44 was the first weapon she ever fired, at both a target and in anger at someone, the scope which only improved her accuracy at further distances was a 19th Birthday present from her now husband.
Mechanical Maintenance: Alanna has spent almost her entire life with a droid as her companion, maintenance and general repair was an absolute necessity. Routing around in Sables internals since the age of 8 Alanna already had a good understanding of how droids worked, and after graduating engineering college with full marks she was offered a droid maintenance at MDY. Whether it be whatever the hell is going inside Sable or the internal wiring of a starship, Alanna can handle it all.

Though she has one of the most lethal beings in the galaxy at her side at almost all times, Alanna is very often self conscious of what he does, often keeping Sable on a tight leash less he do something stupid by insulting the wrong meatbag. Keeping with her timid use of Sable's true potential Alanna often sells herself short on a number of activities, never truly believing she can be who she wants to be out of fear of screwing up the life she's managed to rebuild quite literally from the ashes of her families misfortunes. But it is not just the fear of failure that keeps her quiet in important situations, there is also a deep seeded feeling of inadequacy compared to those she spends time with. Mand'alor the Paladin, a mountain of a man who she owes a debt to that she feels can never be repaid, Airus, a Jedi of high repute and someone who helped her find her feet on her new home. And Sable, her oldest friend and one of the most lethal beings to still walk the galaxy. Compared to them she often feels small, like her opinions shouldn't matter despite often being told otherwise.

Born into a relatively well off life on the family farm Alanna spent most of her early years watching her grandfather's workmen plow the fields and stare at her mother. Though she didn't know it yet she was heir to what was left of the Blasaw family fortune, a myriad of vaults and other assets spread far across the galaxy, each one containing different riches to the next, Sable even has his own personal vault on Hoth where his many trophies are stored. Under normal circumstances her older brother Locrire should have been the inheritor but due to him living up to the "accident" part of happy little accident, he was cut off from the family Will.
Born to a human father and a Twi'Lek mother, Alanna got all the looks of her mother bit the kind heart of of her father and she could often be found taking the farmhands drinks or food during the day, receiving a pat on the head was all the thanks she needed. Unfortunately the east life she had wouldn't last. During a full moonlit night, only a week after her 8th birthday the Hutts finally tracked down their old rivals. She found herself alone, crying in her bedroom when what looked like the droid she had seen gathering dust in the barn, burst through her window, grabbed her and jumped back out through the rising flames, keeping her shielded from any incoming blaster fire. He left her at the edge of the treeline and sprinted back to the farm, stopping halfway through the field as the barn where her parents and little sister had taken shelter caught fire. The droid that had seemed so determined to go back for them turned around and returned to the frightened girl, reassuring her that he would keep her safe. And so it was that Alanna with her new guardian HK droid Sable would make for the ship which was parked in a clearing beyond the treeline, from there Sable would escort Alanna to her brothers last known whereabouts. But even after finding him it was clear he didn't want to take her in, indeed he stated that he was kind of glad that his father was dead. From there the droid would accompany Alanna around the galaxy acting almost as her legal guardian for another 8 years.
It was on her 16th birthday that Alanna would make her first real adult decision, she appreciated Sable, he was family and on a certain level she even loved him. But she knew that one droid couldn't protect her if the Hutts found her again. Knowing that there was only one force in the galaxy that had beaten the Hutts properly before, she and Sable headed for Mandalore and more importantly, for the Paladin himself. Alanna wasn't a fool, however, she knew she couldn't just stroll into his office, she needed a way in and Sable was the perfect one to make it happen. And after a few weeks of searching, he found a way. Making contact with "some Jedi nerd" as Sable put it. Who Alanna would later find out was actually named Airus. The Jedi’s friendly attitude towards the pair and his notable empathy towards the situation that Alanna found herself in was certainly reassuring and within a matter of days Alanna found herself standing in the office of the Mandalore himself. Shutting Sable down incase he decided to insult perhaps her only hope for safety Alanna proceeded to explain her situation, the years on the run, her family history and almost breaking down into tears as she explained the events of that night 8 years ago. Whether it was the promise of whichever assets on the list Sable had produced for her before the meeting or the Paladin was just a compassionate man when he wants to be, either way he granted Alanna’s request. Offering her his personal protection against any attempt on her life by the Hutts and granting her permission to buy property in Keldabe.
Settling on Mandalore was one thing but now Alanna found herself with a new need, a job. And after spending 8 years routing around inside Sable’s internals she figured that perhaps engineering would be a good career path, it would keep her head down,l out of public light and hopefully one day allow her to repay the Paladin for his kindness. She would spend the next two years studying in an engineering college, eventually graduating with top grades and finding herself receiving a job offer from the Mandalorian Drive Yards. Be it fate or the Paladin’s intervention she certainly wasn’t going to complain. Now age 31 Alanna finds herself living a comfortable life in the upper areas of Keldabe, marrying Laars Julban, one of her fellow engineers from MDY at age 23 followed by having a set of twins at 25, being promoted to senior engineer of the Droid labour on the MDY. Yet she still manages to find time to meet with Airus who over the years has become a close friend despite Sable’s constant comments.
Unbreathing: Due to the rather obvious fact that Sable doesn’t need oxygen to survive, he is often the first to volunteer to enter hazardous environments and to do anything involving space walking.
Electromagnetic hardening: Experience taught Sable’s owners that protection against EMP devices is almost essential given the work he would do for them and just because he has gone through a few shells in his time that doesn’t mean the protection isn’t still vital.
The bounty board: To coincide with his in-built face scanner Sable also possesses a live link to the galactic bounty board allowing him to profit on any random bounties he comes across, or if he feels like it he could point out to his allies that there are other bounties around that they could cash in on.
Voice changer: An ability that was inherent to the body he was placed in Sable immediately knew he could improve upon it to do more than just Clone troopers. After much tinkering with the aid of his master Sable is able to scan people’s voices and replicate them perfectly almost instantly.
The ultimate failsafe: The Blasaw family were not idiots, they didn’t accrue their wealth by not investing in asset protection. As such every processor unit that Sable has, be they active or dormant spares is equipped with a failsafe that activates when someone tries to access it without the Blasaw family signature, the ensuing explosion while not large is sufficient enough to remove the intruder from the vicinity.

Amoral programming: Being a droid he knows little of right from wrong Sable would just as soon gun someone down as help them, though he has improved since Alannainstalled programming giving him basic morality, he still prioritises logical solutions than those that “feel right”.
Over-Protective: To a droid the concept of a family is about as far from a normal feeling as possible, but after spending over 2000 years with the same family it would be impossible for something with the level of sentience that Sable has to not feel as though the Blasaw family was his family. And with Alanna being the last of her bloodline for 17 years he has become just a tad over protective of Alanna, even wanting a security detail at her wedding despite there being only a dozen or so guests.

{Background}
To know Sable’s story is to know the story of one of the most powerful crime families in the Outer Rim. The Blasaw family, they ruled a criminal Empire for over 2000 years; controlling the spice trade, slave trade and every other type of trade conceivable. Their rule was not without challenge however, Hutt cartels and other criminal organisations were always trying to muscle their way onto Blasaw turf. When looking for personal protection one should never tighten their purse strings, this was the policy that Bretre Blasaw followed when looking for a bodyguard. Enter Sable, one of the finest killing machines ever built, people talk, they can be bought out, or tortured. Droids cannot, with the proper upgrades, software and hardware a droid will keep all your dirty little secrets.
Originally just a tool for the Blasaw family Sable performed a number of tasks for them, from personal guard, enforcer and when the family really wanted to make someone suffer, he became their torturer. But Bretre always thought Sable was a little bland, at first, he didn’t even have a name and was simply referred to as “HK” or “Droid”. It was Bretre’s youngest daughter Alemelo who gave Sable his name after finding a serial number on his right leg and thinking that the numbers 54813 were letters began calling him Sable, the name took a while to stick but after Bretre installed the upgraded personality matrix into him an actual name seemed more fitting.
However, the good life the Blasaw family had was not to last forever. The unwillingness for officials to be bought and for certain senators to take bribes would see their empire decline as the centuries went on. Their world and his finally came crashing down when a once loyal contact, someone the family had trusted for over 30 years sold their weaknesses and still exposed lose ends to the Hutts. It wasn’t quick and it wasn’t pretty, across the Outer Rim bloody fighting erupted between hired mercenary groups. As the Hutts exploited weaknesses and sold their newly acquired information to law officials, the empire that had stood for over a millennium fell apart at the seams and the family went into hiding, changing names and even some faces. Once in hiding Sable was shut down and placed into storage, less anyone question why a family of ‘farmers’ on Saleucami has an HK droid as a farmhand. It would not be until almost 200 years later when the Hutts ‘found’ the families location that Sable would be reactivated. Thrown into action against the mercenaries almost immediately he made short work of the few that dared face him: first task was to rescue the then 8-year-old Alanna who was trapped in her bedroom. And after hiding her somewhere safe it was onto the rest of the family. But it was as he was running back towards that a message flashed on his HUD. “Get Alanna out. Find Locrire, he’ll keep you both...” Sable knew what the message ending like that meant he just didn't know he was going to break the news to a child. But he did as he was told, he gathered Alanna and made a break for the families ship which was hidden in the trees, shielding Alanna from the view of her home which had been set alight by the mercenaries.
Fleeing with the terrified girl they searched the galaxy for somewhere safe to stay, eventually finding her brother living on Nar Shaddaa. But he was not what Sable had hoped for, turning them away and threatening to strike Alanna when she tried to hug him. It was clear to Sable that he was truly no longer part of the family and with his protection ID gone from Sable's system he took Alanna back to the ship, left her with some music playing and went back to teach the shitbag a lesson. The sweet sympathy he left on for the girl drowning out the cries of pain and begs for mercy. After leaving someone he would usually have given his life for as a bloody mess the two continued moving from place to place, never stopping for fear of being caught by more Hutt mercenaries.
After almost 8 solid years of sleeping rough and getting by on very little Alanna would eventually take them both to Mandalore hoping that the man who crushed the Hutts once before could in any small way keep her safe as well. And after Sable managed to make contact with some nerd with a glowstick who appeared to know how to contact the Mand'alor, They were in his office and Alanna was making her offer to the absolute unit that sat before them. Unfortunately Sable was not privy to the entire conversation as Alanna switched him off "in case he caused another galactic power to want her head on a stick as well." When Sable was turned back on it was clear that the meeting had gone well and they were soon looking for a place to stay in the city. Over the next few years Sable would see Alanna go from a scared and hurt girl to a beautiful and strong young woman. If he could have felt human emotions for her, he would certainly be proud of the person she's grown into. Even if the new generation that she's produced currently treat him like a climbing frame.

"10000 IQ play there Sable, Solace will be giving you a medal or something for sure, saved us all, even if that stupid Tail Head denied me getting to see their ashes with my own eyes." If only Sable could show emotions because if he could he'd be grinning from ear to ear at the thought of his own genius. Though perhaps his celebratory self-congratulations were poorly timed as, as the dust began to clear the cameras motion sensor picked something up. No multiple things, Sable's proverbial jaw dropped to the floor, those fuckers were still alive, being cooked by the heat of the engines but alive none the less. "OH COME ON!" His cry rang out across the now silent hangar. The thought of giving them another few blasts did cross his mind but letting them cook alive was far more fitting punishment for not being turned to dust by the Turbolasers. Though Solace's next action soon turned his mind to other thoughts, the boy and his dog, the two who had begun this whole madness were stood at the now-closed bay door, well they were before Solace put a few blaster bolts in them a move even Sable thought was a little Cold and unnecessary. Well, unnecessary for now at least.
Yet despite this cold execution, Sable couldn't keep his thoughts off of what the Twi'Lek had done. Was it her that closed the bay door? Because if he certainly didn't then who? But his worst fears were confirmed as he watched her leave the cargo bay towards the turbo lifts. Opening doors in front of her as she went if she had gotten into the ship's system that quickly then things were worse than he feared and if she could get into the systems then there's no telling what she might do. If Sable couldn't get back control then she might try and kick him out but given how linked into the ship's systems he was, his anti-hack failsafe might kick in. And Sable didn't need to explain to Solace or the other crew why that would be a very bad thing indeed.
Perhaps it would be best to work the situation out with the Twi'Lek first, if she could get in then perhaps she could help in securing the breach. Diplomacy wasn't the Droids style at all, but just killing her would only put some tape over the crack not help fill it in. Sable began to chase after the girl his metallic feet banging on the floor as he went ending up in the lift next to her. the doors opened not long after showing that he had made it in time to meet her. Following her down the hallway and into the conference room behind her, unfortunately for the droid, she didn't take her eyes off of the entrance to the room, acing against his better judgment he decided to take action by pulling out the young girls blaster which he had holstered and pointed it at the girl. "Brin, was it? before anything else happens you and I need to have a talk about you being in the ship's systems. You've managed to get yourself into this ship's system, not a difficult feat I'll be honest but it's what you're planning to do next that has me concerned. If you're going to try and take full control of the ship then you and I are going to have a falling out, I'm quite ingrained in this ship's internal systems and have access to most of its functions. That means if you try to kick me out it could have quite... explosive consequences, literally. As in I will explode and take most of the ship with me. I won't go into details as to why but if you wanna call my bluff then go ahead. The droid paused momentarily and changed his tone to a calmer one. "But if you're planning on working with us then you have nothing to worry about and you can have this back." He then flipped the laster over to hold it by the barrel, holding the grip out towards the Twi'lek and awaited her response.
"Jarak"
The door to the bay closed and silence befell Jarak's mind once again, a chance to take stock of just what he'd gotten himself into. Sinking back down next to the crate he was covering behind he looked around the bay at the array of bodies who had ended up in there. First, there was Solace, his main target, a woman that was both enchanting and utterly terrifying with her mere presence. He knew what she was but not who she was, but after watching her put down the boy and his dog, in the same manner, he'd seen Storm Troopers execute 'Rebels' Jarak knew exactly the kind of woman he was dealing with. One of sultry demeanor until sudden frenzied stabbing motions.
There were, of course, some unaccounted-for entities. The red Twi'Lek who had seemingly taken control of the ship's systems as she could open doors at will as she left, the Pantoran who had come quite literally flying into the bay before running off further into the ship looking quite wounded. Oh, why did he say yes to this mission, he had a choice he could be off somewhere else in the outer rim on one final tour of counter-terrorism. But in his infinite wisdom, he thought that this mission looked like a more interesting way to end his career. And end it certainly would, but would it end with his retirement or funeral? Only time would tell.
Jarak hadn't forgotten Solace's initial instructions, however, and began making his way into the ship, following behind the Twi'Lek girl and up the Turbo Lift to the deck where the meeting hall was. Jarak had to admit, the ship was quite well maintained, not as clean and shiny as the Atlas but then again his ship was maintained to the highest of Imperial standards. Jarak opened the door to the room to quite the sight. The droid who wasn't listed on the crew roster for obvious reasons was pointing a gun at the Twi'Lek girl and talking about Techy stuff that he was far too old to care about. Jarak looked at the pair and raised his hands in a 'not getting involved' manner and moved to an empty chair along the side of the table.
From a distance Kayleigh looks no different to a normal human woman aged 20-25, standing at 5’8” with pale white skin and long red hair tied back in a braid but upon closer inspection, it is clear that she is anything but. Running across her entire body is a thin layer of scaling barely visible to the naked eye as its pigment matches her skin perfectly; it is only on her forearms and lower legs where it becomes openly visible. With almost golden like patches of scaling forming as Greaves and Gauntlets. Constantly training or away fighting, Kayleigh is in almost peak physical condition at all times but has never been overly muscular, often being told that if she weren't an abomination her near perfectly toned figure and pretty face would make her quite a hit at the local brothel.
There is one other major oddity, however. Upon her back, Kayleigh bears a tattoo which was given to her at a young age. “Aan Kul Gein Neh Yah Kein. Nuz Aan Onik Gein Ulse Lost Koraav Fah Nii.” Roughly translating to “A good person never seeks war. But a wise one eternally has awareness for it.” in the tongue of the Dragons.
Precious few have seen her without some form of armour on, be it her more comfortable and slightly form-fitting fabric under armour or the full suit of hand-crafted enchanted armour, Kayleigh doesn't like to expose herself very often due to the outright hatred and racism she has faced. Her armour and weapons green tinge comes from the metal with which it is crafted, Nepryx, a rare metal found mostly in the dwarven holds and when mixed with steel when crafting weapons and armour, gives the item crafted enchanted properties and when mixed with a half-breed's ability to control lightning gives their equipment a hefty advantage in combat.
{Physical Abilities}
Fire resistance: Owing to her naturally occurring scales Kayleigh is almost immune to fire damage just like her pure Dragon cousins.
Defensive fighter: Though she has always preferred a melee brawl to hurling endless spells around Kayleigh has never been one to commit aggressively to a fight, preferring to put her opponents on the back foot by blocking their blows instead of outright attacking, frustration is the name of the game and an opponent's frustration leads to mistakes which is when Kayleigh strikes.
Heightened senses: Kayleigh's heritage has been both a blessing and a curse for her entire life, while the outright racism and intolerance she can face while on missions certainly put a damper on things the increase in her senses goes just a little way to make life easier while out and about. Compared to a normal mortal it seems like Kayleigh has a sixth sense given her almost perfect reaction times in fights, but in truth, it comes down once again to her heritage over anything else.
Inhuman strength: Much like her 5 senses being amplified her physical strength is also fat beyond that of a mere mortal. Able to put a hole through a stone wall with her bare fist with little to no effort.
Enchanted equipment: Having to learn to both make and maintain your own armour and weapon gave young Kayleigh a sense of responsibility towards her equipment, the fact that her sword also contains a fragment of her very soul also provides a little incentive too. Made from a mix of Nepryx and Steel her equipment has a slight greenish tinge compared to normal armour and weapons but it is this green tinge that reveals its power. Able to act as a conduit for her lightning abilities in order to be more useful against her Draconic foes.
{Magical Abilities}
Though magic of both the offensive and defensive types comes naturally to her Kayleigh has always preferred the clashing of metal to the waving of hands in order to best an opponent, though this doesn't mean she won't use magic in order to gain an advantage.
Lightning arrow: Conjures a bow of pure lightning energy and once drawn backfires a lightning bolt up to 100m before it dissipates.
Lightning Spear: With a click of her fingers a bolt of pure lightning manifests in her hand, able to be used as a shocky whack stick or thrown at opponents, although it lacks armour piercing ability it can deal tremendous shock damage to lightly armoured foes.
Fire mastery: Mastery of fire is perhaps the most natural ability a half-breed has in their arsenal coming as naturally to them as breathing does. Be it spouting torrents of fire from their hands to hurling balls of fire at opponents the world's greatest equaliser can be like putty in her hands.
{Limitations}
Weakness to Lightning: The double edge to her near immunity to fire is a rather hefty intolerance to Lightning damage, another near mirror match of her Dragon cousins means that the very element she wields to slay them can slay her just as easily if not more so.
Powerful yet costly magic: While the magical abilities available at Kayleigh’s fingertips are undoubtedly powerful, being able to bring down a dragon with a click of her fingers is no easy feat, rapid use of her spells consumes almost all of her mana in only 4-5 uses.
Headstrong: Often taking her abilities for granted Kayleigh feels a certain sense of superiority over mere mortals. And while completely true it has on more than one occasion cost the lives of the people she was supposed to protect.
{Equipment}
“Hind”: Translating to hope from Dragon tongue, It has been Kayleigh’s best friend and savior since she was 23. Forged in the sacred forge of The Order and imbued with a part of her very soul this sword has a kill count higher than some entire armies.
{Personality}
Kayleigh can often come across as reclusive in social settings. Mostly as a result of being ostracized for being the only true half-breed among her peers Kayleigh prefers to keep to herself and the few who are actually close to her. Very rarely are her true thoughts known except when absolutely vital Kayleigh prefers to wear her heart on her cheek rather than her sleeve. The only time she openly states her feelings is when it comes to her name, despite everything she learned when the truth about her past came out she chose to continue living as Kayleigh instead of changing her name back to Avelith, she'd spent over 100 years not knowing anything else so why should she change it. To date the only person allowed to call her Avelith and not receive an earful is her father.
{Place of Origin}
Born out of the unlikely relationship between a human fire mage and the then High Queen of the Dragons, Kayleigh was always destined to have anything but a normal life. Born Avelith Lockheart in a human village far in the north of the Dwarven Holds territory she was orphaned aged 5 after her mother's untimely death in suspicious circumstances, her father gave her to The Order fearing the same fate could befall her. The Order would hide her identity by giving her a complete name change and hiding all records of her family and her past in their archives. Though she would eventually find out the truth about her past it would not change her mind about who she was, having lived as Kayleigh for over 100 years. Growing up in The Order was in no way easy compared to the life she could have had, most of her education was spent honing her abilities in magic usage and being taught to wield a sword since she was old enough to lift one has left her rather numb to the world outside of The Order's castles.
{Background}
Completing her trials aged 25 Kayleigh became a full operative in The Order and was assigned to a slayer team by age 30. Her master Jaghu whom she had come to see as her father figure would be made the mentor of her team, along with the teams Mage Marcus Allbright and an archer named Falkir Vel'ath, they would become one of The Orders most successful hunt teams, undertaking missions in almost every part of the realm no matter the abuse they would receive. This would be the norm for many years, going on assignments to villages and towns being terrorised by Dragons or their forces. Life would remain the same for almost 100 years, a life of training, fighting, sleeping, rinsing and repeating. Her differences compared to other Order Members left her mostly ostracised by all but her own team who had come to see her as their little sister in a way.
Once the information about her past came to light one might have thought that Kayleigh would respond with outrage or violence given everything that had been hidden from her. But it would be just the opposite that happened, when her master who’d been given the unenviable job of telling her that technically she was High Queen of the entire realm and that The Order had hidden it from her, sat down and told her, Kayleigh's response was a simple shrug of the shoulders, In fact the only piece of information that got any sort of a response from her was that her father was still alive and that she and she was permitted to meet him. It baffled many that she could be so indifferent to this news but to Kayleigh she didn’t care, a lifetime of racism, sexism, and assaults had left their mark and as a result she was now numb to caring about anything or anyone but herself and her friends, let alone being a queen of people that hated her very existence.
For the last 20 years Kayleigh would begin to form a relationship with her father, meeting him at the palace in the Valley of the Damned was emotional at first, her father broke down in tears and even the Royal Black Guard bowed before her, according to them she was the spitting image of her mother and they couldn’t be happier. The mood dampened when she informed them that she had no intention of taking the throne despite it being rightfully hers, but this would not stop her father doting on her as he had always wanted to. However, outside of this, she would experience perhaps the lowest point of her life. Being left to feel cheap and used at the hands of a monstrous Dragon and his conniving truce deal with The Order Kayleigh would fall into a depression after having her child quite literally ripped from her arms only hours after it was born. Yet the lowest of lows would also lead Kayleigh to her highest of highs, after sharing her moments of weakness with Marcus, the teammate she trusted most and she would come to rely on the man emotionally over the next few years. However, any sense of happiness and normalcy that Marcus brought back to her life would all be cut short with the arrival of a stranger from another world.
Kayleigh woke to the sound of commotion coming from the entrance to her tent, her eyes slowly crept open onto what would prove the most fateful day in her life. She pulled the blanket off of her and removed Marcus’s arm from its tight grip around her waist. Their small tent only big enough for the two of them rested on the edge of the Imperial army’s camp, better they were separated from the human troops than dragged from their tents in the night. 20 minutes later her and Marcus were gathered with the rest of their team and many others from various Order bases, rumours had spread of a visitor from another world who had promised the Dragons the power to reclaim their rule over Valkoria, rumours that were confirmed in a meeting with her father, both The Order and the Imperial Government of the Golden Dawn were determined to stop this so while they waited upon reinforcements from the rest of the nations of the realm they would engage in a delaying action in the frozen valley to the camps north.
The field of battle was almost entirely open, giving the Dragon forces a natural advantage since there would be no cover for the human soldiers to hide from their flames save for a small village in the valley's basin which had yet to be evacuated. Kayleigh and her team would be sent ahead to achieve just that, arriving in the early morning before the battle had begun, they began directing civilians away towards the Human lines, late into the morning as the two sides began their long march towards one another Kayleigh and her team were wrapping up when she heard screaming coming from the towns church. It was after finding and evacuating a small group of children that Kayleigh would almost bite the bullet or rather arrow in this case as she was knocked over after an arrow struck her shoulder which rendered her unconscious after hitting her head on the way down.
Kayleigh would awake hours later to scenes straight out of someone’s nightmares the town was ablaze, soldiers clashing and dying all around her, the skies filled with the roars of great Dragons and Imperial Griffons dueling for supremacy, yet it was what she would witness next which would truly terrify her. From the mountain overlooking the valley, a bolt of lightning would strike and from its smoke would arise Lord Avridorn, head of the Dragon Council and with one mighty roar, he unleashed a wave of energy that vaporised every mortal in the valley. Kayleigh found herself alone suddenly, wandering the burning town trying to piece together what had happened, how did they obtain that sort of power and where was her team or the other Slayers. Even in her disorientated state, she could make out the sound of hooves closing in on her, as she began fading to black, she saw the horse with her father atop it. Despite being a mortal himself he had survived the blast somehow and had specifically come to find her, while trying to help her regain consciousness he explained that this visitor who he called Pride had given the Dragons the power they had just demonstrated and in return for their loyalty she would help them take back control of the realm. And though still dazed and confused from the blast he would open a portal to another realm and send her through to help her escape the probable execution that she would face in Valkoria. Blowing a final kiss to his daughter he closed the portal leaving her alone, dazed and confused in this strange new world but introductions would have to wait as soon after she would blackout from her exhaustion with the lights of a settlement not far from her.
Oh if only Sable could smile at that moment. Not only was he being allowed to use the Turbolaser's but to also be using it on inferior life forms, this truly was a momentous occasion for him. Solace had given him the great honour of wiping this vermin from the front of the ship and he was going to enjoy every second of it. He felt the mention of a warning shot was a little redundant given it was a Turbolaser he'd be using but he knew what Solace meant none the less.
There was deafening feedback from the loudspeaker followed by a rather robotic voice. "Attention foolish meatbags, this is you're friendly neighbourhood murderbot letting you know that as of the moment you walked through those doors you had fucked up, there's no going back and I hope you've made peace with your Gods. There was a crackle as the speaker turned off and the turret began tracking onto the Mandalorian. Then the speaker crackled again. "Oh and to the meatbag with the Energy shield... Block this fucker." Being careful to not place the shots to close to Kabal and the bomb he gave the order to fire. There were three loud blasts as the twin Barrels fired in sequence at the three targets. Dust and debris were thrown into the air, followed by... silence.
"I'll deal with you after things are wrapped up here." It seemed fair enough to him that she would want to deal with perhaps the second stupidest person on the ship, the first being himself of course, before beginning to test how well he could lie to a supposed force user. Though for the price of having to wait a little longer than he'd have liked, he was treated to her giving the dumbass who shot at her crew a little life lesson after almost giving him a heart attack. It was a short-lived reprieve from the never-ending wave of fun that appeared to flock to this ship. From the corner of his eye, Jarak noticed the doors to the hangar open again and three figures walk through it towards the ship, more crew? he thought to himself though he didn't remember them from the dossier and after what he presumed was the Ubese and a little helper walked in with a shopping cart and what looked like a broken fission device that was all the crew on the file accounted for. No, their posture was not that of crew returning to the ship, more like... attacking it, then Solace spoke her orders.
Jarak already at the top of the ramp was certainly in a better situation than those down below and they were having to cart the broken looking bomb up here as well. He gave a small smile as he grabbed his bag and threw it over and behind a conveniently placed crate before following it over as well. Whoever these guys were they certainly looked more imposing than the usual groups of rebels and terrorists he would deal with. He hadn't been expecting a firefight he could properly sink his teeth into so early into his mission so this was certainly a welcome surprise indeed. Opening the zip of his bag revealed most of his equipment; blasters, some grenades, his armour all he had on his person was his pistol and that was not going to surface against a Mando with a Z-6, let alone the other two. Peeking out from behind the crate he squeezed off a few bursts in the assailant's direction hoping to provide some sort of covering fire to those not up the ramp yet.
"Sable"
Sable nodded his head to Solace before turning to address the trouble making Twi'Lek "Please follow me miss we don't want any more trouble do we?" Sable said as he began to lead the Twi'Lek towards the exit of the bay. It had certainly been an interesting end to their stay on Anchorage, they'd had people hide away before but never ones that tried to shoot the place up and then ask for a job. Though Solace mentioning the word fresh when referring to Five Toes cooking gave him something to have a little chuckle about. But it would seem the quiet that had descended momentarily would disappear just as quickly as it came.
From the hangar bay ramp, he heard Solace shout orders at the newcomer and presumably Kabal who was the only one unaccounted for. Sable was confused for a moment at the urgency of Solace's orders, surely the danger was over right? Wrong, more shots came from the bottom of the ramp and the blaster sounded big but Sable couldn't tell what it was. He watched in slight surprise as the Twi'Lek went from cowering behind him, to behind some more solid cover than his slender frame, perhaps she wasn't as brave as her attempt to stow away on a mercenaries ship portrayed her as. Needless to say Sable was incredibly happy with this new development, a proper fight is what he existed for after all and he had already processed the perfect way to deal with the fools who dared attack his ship.
It was then that the Twi'Lek spoke to him and offered what was certainly a solution to the current predicament but not in any way related to what he was going to do. "Port security won't be necessary, I'm planning on enjoying myself if they don't take the rather large hint I'm going to give them." As he crouched down next to the Twi'Lek his eyes flashed, not too far from their location on deck four an Astromech whirred into life, under instructions from Sable it exited the coral and proceeded towards the turbolift and headed for the lower Turbolaser control room on deck two, Sable might have been built for fighting but no one ever told him it had to be done in a fair manner. The Astromech accessed the controls and began charging the guns, checking the camera mounted on the turret he saw there were three assailants and one was what looked like Deathwatch. "Oh goody it's been too long since I've killed some Deathwatch." Sable's eyes flashed again and the turret's mechanisms hummed into life, the twin barrels swung out and stared down angrily at the three squishy fools assaulting the ship. Perhaps acting on something Alanna put in his programming but he couldn't bring himself to atomise them... yet "Captain I feel as though I should give you the opportunity to let them leave with their pathetic lives before I wipe them from existence, if you wanna shout from the ramp that's fine but if you can make it to me you can broadcast an offer of mercy over loudspeaker.
It was quite the show Jarak was watching unfold in front of him, at the top of cargo ramp stood who he assumed was Solace who had just disarmed and potentially given a heart attack too, the young boy who had seemed to think it was a good idea to start trouble with a crew of mercenaries, not the wisest choice one could make, but then again Jarak was someone who chose to make a living by being shot at for an Empire that could replace him just as easily as they gave him medals so who was he to judge.
Of all the thoughts to be whirling around in Jarak's head, there was one that stood out above the rest, not whether he'd make it home, not him placing bets with himself on how long it'd be till he was found out. No the thought that kept making its way to the front was him wondering if this is what his Majors final words meant? was this where Jarak would get what's coming to him? Odd for the words of a dead man to be in his head at this moment but this certainly was an odd time. Jarak paused for a moment, next to the boy lay the collapsed body an Anooba, odd he hadn't noticed it sooner but his mind was elsewhere after all. Bringing his hand up to his scars he gently stroked down his cheek. Not quite the same creature but given his track record with wildlife, he made a mental note to keep an eye on the dog.
At the top of the ramp, he was provided with his first real look at the crew he would have to make pleasantries with for the next few months... or weeks given that he rated his chance of making it home in one piece at less than 50/50. Around the hangar were various individuals that Jarak recognised form the reports and some that he didn't. There was a young woman who the Captain assumed was the other of the twins, being taken out of the bay by a man in robes, very familiar robes at that. There was an old Commando Droid, someone in what looked like old Clone Trooper armour and another in Storm Trooper armour.
So far there were no surprises that he could see, it seemed to be a fairly normal mercenary crew, a group of pirates and degenerates that would just as quickly kill each other as work together. What was a surprise, however, was the Twi'Lek that he hadn't noticed yet and what he could gather from the ensuing conversation was that she seemed to have been the cause of all the trouble in the first place and now she was asking for a job. She certainly had balls he'd give her that, stowing away on a ship and then your friend comes and starts a shoot out and then asking the very visibly displeased Captain of said ship for a job, this had the potential to be an even worse decision than the one to open fire in the first place.
He stood there in slight bewilderment at what he was listening to and he made sure to keep a few steps between himself, the Twi'Lek and the boy, just in case. He took his bag from his shoulder and placed it on the floor next to him before speaking to Solace. "I can see you're dealing with some issues right now, should I just wait down here while you sort them and we can talk after?"
"Sable"
"Understood." There wasn't much else needed in response to his order and a few moments later the red lighting faded, being replaced with the normal bright lighting of the cargo hold, the sound of the bulkheads and hatches opening brought with them a sigh of relief for the droid.
Sable stood back up and gave a bow of his head to Sena as she began to walk off with Airus. Maybe Sable would get a sticker later to say thank you properly he thought to himself... smack Sable gave his head a wack, where the hell did that thought come from, "I'll need to get that looked at, I'm a highly efficient and lethal killing machine, not Mopdeka. Why would I want a sticker. Once he was sure that Sena was safe and the danger caused by the stupid meat bag and his hound was definitely over he turned to watch Sena immediately put herself in danger again as she ruffled the Ewok's head putting herself at risk of catching Revan only knows what.
It was then that what was happening at the bay entrance caught his eye again. The idiot, the Twi'Lek and a newcomer were all stood there with Solace and from the sound of it, the Tail Head was an accomplice of the genius and his dog. And they had just asked to be hired on. A phenomenon he couldn't help but comment on"They're either the bravest or the most stupid individuals I've ever seen. Personally, I was hoping for another droid, one I could actually talk to, the others around here are... I'll say processorly challenged to be nice. Sable shook his head a few times before making his way to the door along with Airus and Sena.
Dear god what had he just said "Excuse me miss! Well done Jarak, you sound like a real grizzled mercenary with that language, no way in hell I'm getting on that ship now." His face remained pleasant smile as the thoughts of his own stupidity ran wild in his mind. Would she just tell him to do one or possibly worse? A Smirk as she turned to face the Captain was the only response offered. The pad identified this woman as 'Solace' but that was more than likely just a cover name. There was something enchanting about the way she conducted herself, a constantly alluring aura seemed to surround her which made Jarak uncomfortable to no end. For a few seconds, there was nothing, no other response as if she was formulating what to say in response to his offer. The silence was deafening to Jarak as the questions of whether or not he had fallen at the first hurdle began to creep back in. But as she opened her mouth to respond she seemed to tense for a moment before standing up before him, a hand gripped tightly on the pommel of one of her Vibro-blades. Two words "Oh shit." went through his mind and time seemed to slow for him. He'd survived blaster fire, airstrikes and being blown up, only for fate to decide that he would finally bite the bullet or sword in this case, in a repugnant bar surrounded by the scum and villainy of the galaxy. His eyes closed and his body tensed waiting for the blow that would never come, instead, the woman spoke frankly "I should go. Jarak, CR-90 at the port."
Before he could even open his eyes again she was gone, a heavy sigh followed as he turned to see the direction the woman had disappeared off in. But there was nothing, no trace that she was even moving through the crowd outside. Luckily he knew which dock the CR-90 was at or he'd be completely lost trying to find this Solace again. Jarak spent the rather pacey walk over to the dock wondering how in the galaxy had she disappeared like that, was it some trick that a force user could do? Or was he just going blind? As he neared the dock there was the distinct sound of blaster fire coming from his destination, what was going on, this had to be why the woman disappeared as she did, but there must be something very important on that ship for her to react as she did, and how did she know whatever was happening was happening before the loud mumbling from the commlink became audible. Jarak had a good number of questions going through his mind as he approached a security barrier which opened for him after a small exchange of credits with the guard.
As Jarak walked into the dock itself there was an explosion in front him, a very familiar sounding explosion as well. Now Jarak was starting to figure out the people he would hopefully be dealing with for the next few months. Idiots, it was the only word that seemed to suit the situation, what kind of fool would throw a Thermal Det here, inside a ships hold no less. Whichever idiot had thrown it clearly needed a little more than a basic tutorial of how to use grenades. It was then that he spotted Solace holding someone from behind with her Vibro-Sword to their neck while an Anooba sat uneasily to the side. Jarak put his head into his palm as he walked towards the bottom of the cargo ramp."There's no way I'm making it back alive am I?" he mumbled.
"Sable"
Sable had been too concerned with keeping Sena safe to notice Sharp throw the Thermal Detonator, but when it went off the realisation of the danger he'd just put Sena and the rest of them it became all too apparent to the droid. "Either he needs some sense beaten into him or that chip's finally driven him insane. Either way, I'm gonna chew his damned ear off when this is over." Normally Sable was fairly emotionless and uncaring towards the safety of squishy meat bags, but Sena was one of only a few in the last few years to actively make him enter protective mode. He wasn't sure what was actually wrong with the girl but with her childish nature, she reminded him a lot of the children he used to watch over for the Blasaw family and the last person to hurt one of those ended up begging for it to be over quickly. As he stood there returning fire at the person foolish enough to attack them he noticed a friendly tag appear next to the boy. "I hate it when she does that, I could have shot her. He thought to himself as he lowered his blaster, now that the captain had returned that should put an end to this little incident.
It was then that he felt something bump into his leg, If only he could have facial expressions because the sight he saw truly baffled him, that disease ridden fur ball was standing next to him spear raised towards the cargo bay entrance, for a split second there was a desire to raise his leg back and punt it off the ship but Sena would probably crush him with her mind if he did. He looked back to see if Sena was ok and she was still just crying in a ball on the floor, was the Ewok trying to protect Sena, perhaps since it didn't know the fate that awaited it in Sena' room. Shaking his head in disbelief at what he was witnessing next to him he turned and took a knee next to Sena before placing a hand that while a little cold and metallic was one meant to reassure the terrified girl. "Are you ok my lady? The danger should be over Mistress Solace has returned, you should be safe now.
