I'm not entirely sure, since There's not much in terms of trauma or an inciting incident per say to connect from the character to their abilities.
Working in Rehab, maybe being able to sense the pain of others?
Or the default telepathy?
As many psychic specialists do Blank has some psychic quirks of their own.
