Adam Rahim, the man like Birdsong, was entertained.

By the sunset, by the sounds of the children playing in the street, by his tea - by most anything he had to hand, he was entertained; though it occurred to him that entertain might actually be the wrong word, as he did not find these things amusing exactly - it's more that they made him happy. A calm kind of happy. Content.

Yes. That's the word. Content.

Adam Rahim, the man with a songbird's heart, was contented.

Gently, with a slight smile, he raised his tea glass to his lips and drank. The tea was not his - he was staying with a friend he'd made in Sando, another healer who had a practice in the city centre and a house with a spare room - but the honey he'd added was. Amara sat across from him at the table on her terrace, observing her friend and guest as he sat and drank tea in relative silence, only opening his eyes occasionally to check the score in the football game taking place in the street below them.

"They’re still losing, Adam.” The fae spoke with her eyebrow cocked. She was an elegant, but practical and occasionally stern, woman - and she did not normally brook nonsense; a rule to which Adam was an exception.

”I know.” He said, smiling and raising his glass back to his lips, tipping the hot cavemint and honey back into his mouth as he closed his eyes again. ”But I’m not watching to see who wins. I’m watching to enjoy seeing them play.”

She found his sentimentality charming, if occasionally frustrating. Normally the men she spent her time with enjoyed looking at her, not at street kids tackling eachother, and at imaginary sunsets - which was what Adam usually did.

He would sit back, drink her tea, and picture a sunset in his mind. Sometimes she asked him which sunset it was, and somehow he always had a different answer. He made up for this kind of non-presence with his sense of humour, and by helping her in her practice whenever he was in the city.

And by keeping her company.

He was a warm kind of person to be around. It had been thirty years since the last one of his kind had been quite like that, for her - not long enough to be a lifetime for her people, but long enough that the last man had managed to die of old age.

”Are you enjoying yourself, Amara?”

She thought about that for a while. The answer was yes, but she didn’t always know why, with Adam.

One of the things she had learnt from his kind, however, was that the Why does not always matter.

”I am, Adam.”

”I’m very happy to hear that. I have a feeling that more work will be coming soon, my friend. When I come back I will see if I can bring some wine, if you like?” He almost-hummed, opening his eyes to meet hers again, his stubbly face smiling.

She grinned and nodded.

He was a fun drunk.

@Parzivol Holy fucking Christ that man is a monster. He eats fae? He literally eats fae? He wears the shaven hair of his victims as clothes and dried their flesh to jerky for use as rations?
@LordOfTheNight Is there anywhere from within Sando that the sunset might be visible, or is everything subterranean?
@LordOfTheNight Hey, I've gotta ask - where did you get the generator for the RP title text? I'm planning to format Adam's posts in the same sorta way you format yours, for aesthetic purposes.
Additionally, I've updated the OOC with some clarifications about the nature of magic and the schools of colour - specifically that spells ought to be specific abilities as opposed to general power with wide consequences and applications, like controlling any part of your environment with one spell or turning any substance into any other substance and so on. Your characters are unfamiliar with magic, and all of their abilities so far are linked to innate knowledge and character traits rather than techniques they have learned or will learn. I'd like to apologise for this misunderstanding, and reassure folks that although your characters may not feel powerful at the beginning (and indeed, will never be overpowered) the plot revolves around interaction with people who can train you.
@Lady Selune

Further to the review over discord, your CS has been accepted. In your own time please move her over to the char tab, and welcome to Paradigm shift. I'm really looking forwards to this.

@DinoNuts@Stitches Hey folks, I've spent a while reviewing the sheets and I reckon you're good to move them over to the Char tab. Really good characters, I'm looking forward to your intro posts a lot.
I reckon Adam is probably a vet then. Maybe not as seasoned as Elrin or anything though.
@duskshine749 Creating sustained physical weapons with Violet magic is going to be incredibly taxing, especially if they can change their form on the fly. I don't think you'll be able to do that and other magic at the same time, at least not without a lot of training. Holograms work too, but in order for them to actually move you need to focus on their actions as much as your own for the illusion to still seem realistic - though it may not need to seem realistic to be effective. Ignoring pain is good, that's a good use of black magic. Blue magic cannot safely teleport you to a place you cannot see and do not have good familiarity with - I'll certainly let you try, but at some point that will end quite badly for Zephyr. As for sharpen senses, the concept is certainly fine but bullet time doesn't exist in this world, so while a moment might last a little longer for him it won't necessarily let him outfight someone who's just better than he is - for example, he might see the blow coming, but if he's been maneuvered into a position where he's at that kind of disadvantage it might just mean he has a subjectively longer period of time where he knows he's about to get hit. Sharpen Senses will let him see details on the fly where anyone else might miss them, it'll help him analyse his opponents if he's fighting, and so on - but it's not necessarily going to be the be-all end-all to melee combat.

Keep in mind as well that simply being able to have a sword and shield on hand doesn't necessarily mean you know how to use them - and that even if you do, most FOE agents just shoot people.

EDIT: I realise that all sounded really critical, sorry about that. I like the concept so far, and I liked Zeph in the previous RP, just to make that clear lol.
