In the frozen ruins of what was once civilization, survival has become a day-to-day struggle. The world as we knew it ended in the winter of 2020, when a botched bioterrorism attack unleashed a virus that transformed the dead into relentless predators. The initial outbreak began in Seattle and spread with terrifying speed, leaving cities desolate and survivors scattered across the wastelands.

Now, in the harshest winter yet, the fight isn’t just against the undead—it’s against the unforgiving elements, dwindling supplies, and the crushing weight of survivor’s guilt.

The Setting:

Our story takes place in the snow-blanketed remains of Ouray, Colorado. Once a picturesque mountain town known for its stunning landscapes, it’s now a ghost town, with only a few signs of life—whether living or undead. The silence is oppressive, broken only by the crunch of snow underfoot or the distant howl of the wind. The cold is deadly, but it’s not the only thing to fear.

The Premise:

Jack Turner is a rugged ex-carpenter, marked by the solitude and loss he’s experienced. Traveling with his loyal Labrador Retriever, Daisy, Jack uses his woodworking skills to survive in the desolate world. When he meets another survivor—a woman as determined and resourceful as he is—they must rely on one another to confront the dangers and harsh conditions of their new reality.

This RP will explore the slow-burning romance that develops between two people who have lost everything, as well as the constant fight for survival in a world gone mad. Expect themes of loneliness, hope, and the fragile bond that forms between two souls in the most dire of circumstances.

Looking For:

• A partner interested in a character-driven story with equal parts romance and survival horror.
• Someone who enjoys detailed posts and is open to collaboration on plot twists, character development, and world-building.
• An emphasis on gritty realism—this isn’t a world where happy endings come easily, but where small victories feel monumental.

• Post length: 2-3 paragraphs or more, depending on the scene
• Posting frequency: 2-3 times a week (flexible)

• The RP will be conducted via PM though plotting and OOC can take place over discord if so desired.

Hello, fellow roleplayers!

I'm Bear, an avid roleplayer with a passion for weaving intricate and compelling stories. My writing style tends to be detailed and immersive, with a focus on character development and emotional depth. I enjoy exploring complex relationships and seeing how characters grow and evolve through their experiences.

I'm currently looking to start a 1x1 arranged marriage roleplay. Below are a few plot ideas that I think could lead to some exciting and dynamic storytelling. I'm open to tweaking any of these ideas or brainstorming new ones together!

Plot Ideas

(Small update: I forgot to include that I typically prefer to play the male role in a MxF pairing but I won't turn down a good FxF pairing, MxM is just not my jam - I have a hard time writing it, sorry!)

1. CLOSED Modern Corporate Merger: In a bid to save their struggling companies, two powerful CEOs arrange a marriage between their children. While they are both successful in their own right, their personalities couldn't be more different. Can they find common ground and make their partnership work, both in business and in their personal lives?

2. CLOSED Historical Drama: Set in the 19th century, two old friends arrange a marriage between their children. One needs to marry off his high-spirited daughter, while the other desperately needs his son to produce an heir for their title. The son, initially a second son, now finds himself the heir after his older brother's unexpected death. As they navigate the pressures of their new roles and family expectations, they must also learn to understand and support each other in their unique challenges.

3. Political Strategy: A young and ambitious politician is planning to run for president, but polls indicate he will have a better chance of winning if he is engaged or married. An arranged marriage is set up with someone who is equally ambitious and has a pristine public image. As they navigate their public personas and political aspirations, they must also figure out their private relationship and whether they can truly support each other.

4. CLOSED Knocked Up: High school is ending and the escape from crushing small town life grinds to a halt when one kid learns the one night stand he had at a graduation party is pregnant with his child. Will he do the "right thing" or act like he doesn't know what she's talking about? How does this impact his life and that of the girl he got pregnant? Can they make their family work? (I have other variations of unexpected pregnancy if this one doesn't suit)

6. The Marriage Decision: At their ten-year high school reunion, two best friends find themselves both single and longing for connection. After sharing laughter and memories, they revisit a pact made years ago—to have a baby if they were still childless by the reunion. What starts as a lighthearted conversation quickly turns serious as they decide to explore the idea of marriage and family together. Can they build a life rooted in friendship, or will their past complicate their future?

7. The Runaway: Escaping the confines of her small-town life, a recent high school graduate runs to the bustling streets of New York, where she meets a charming college dropout musician who opens her eyes to the vibrant, unfiltered world around her. Their whirlwind romance ignites a passion she never knew she craved, but everything changes when she discovers she’s pregnant. As she grapples with this unexpected turn, will the musician stand by her side, or will she find herself drawn back to her childhood best friend—the one who has always loved her from afar? With two very different paths before her, she must decide who truly holds her heart and what kind of life she wants to build for herself and her child.

8. The Affair: As their marriage hangs by a thread, a woman finds herself in a whirlwind affair that leads to an unexpected pregnancy. With her husband deployed and unaware of her betrayal, the stakes rise when the man from her affair, also married, urges her to handle the situation on her own. Now, faced with the reality of bringing a child into a broken marriage, she must confront her husband with the truth. Can she ask him to stay and support her through this monumental decision, even if the child isn’t his? In a situation that should tear them apart, can they find their way back to each other?
