"No!" Evie exclaimed as she tried getting up despite the searing flames running up her arm. "He's innocent! Leave him alone!" She yelled, hitting one of the officers with her left fist. This act, of course, got her pulled away from them by a medic who tried calming her down to no avail. "Let him go! He didn't attack me, he saved my life!" She shouted before a sharp sting appeared on her upper arm as the medic sedated her. She shook her head as she looked back at the shut down, terrified face of Lucas before her world went dark.
"...has no mouth...some kind of freak...must have been waiting to attack her." A voice said as Evie started waking up. Her blurred vision refused to focus as they fluttered open, but from what she could hear she was apparently in a hospital room. She hissed in pain upon moving her right arm, eyes focusing enough to see it wrapped in bandages. "Wh...What...?" She asked.
