"Oh, that's reassuring." Sam scoffed but he knew it was true. They were her family now; father and big brother figures to this poor orphan. "As for role models, she seems to get along with Dean. Then again Dean's always been good with kids."

"Shazam. Sure, he's technically a kid, but he's able to share his power with others. Captain Marvel can't do that." Evie replied, finishing the BLT she was making. "Oh! Deadpool and Domino vs Joker and Harley Quinn!" She exclaimed excitedly.
"Yeah...about that." Sam said before explaining what she told them; loosing her family, the guardianship, and her knowledge of the supernatural world. "She's smart, she just lacks experience. Dean and I agree she shouldn't be in any of this, but her family name makes her a target. We can't leave her alone."

In the kitchen, Evie was laughing as she made sandwiches with Dean. "Okay, okay, Iron Man verses Batman." She said. The two were debating which hero would win in a fight.
"It's understandable." Evie chuckled, smiling at him. While he came off tough and mean, he was actually nice she could sense that in him. Upon hearing about food, she nodded in reply. "Yeah, let's see what we can make!" She exclaimed before heading to the kitchen with Dean.

"You go ahead, I'll make one later." Sam said before looking over at Bobby, knowing he was in for a lecture once he was done talking. "Hey, Bobby? I...uh..." He tried to explain before sighing. He eventually told him everything about his soul still trapped in the cage and the civil war going on in heaven.
Evie watched Dean and Bobby banter before hugging and letting them in. She looked around the place taking in every detail. It was cosy, bookshelves lining one wall full of books that no doubt held millions of information on the supernatural. She could see a set of stairs leading to the upper floor and what seemed like a dinning room turned into a study as well as the kitchen not too far off.

Upon hearing Bobby call her over, she nervously looked at the brothers getting reassurance from Dean and a gentle nudge from Sam. She approached the older hunter with a shy smile before offering her hand to him. "Evelyn Van Helsing." She said.
Sam sighed softly before nodding in agreement, knowing Dean was right. They couldn't leave her alone especially with everything going on. She'd be dead within a week if that by herself. "Alright, we'll see what Bobby has and train her. Much as I don't like it." He said.

When they arrived at Bobby's, Evie awoke blinking at the slightly run down home and the junkyard behind it all. "This is his place?" She asked as she got out of the car with them, heading towards the front door.

"Yeah. Now the thing about Bobby is he's a little-" Sam said before the door opened to show a grizzly of a man with a white and blue baseball cap. He quickly threw water on all three of them, cutting off Sam and causing Evie to shriek in surprise and shock.

"Paranoid." Sam finished, spitting out water as Evie sputtered.
"Got it." Evie said with a nod, once again back to the little trooper she was. She went back to looking out the window seeing the landscape rush by as they drove on. After a while she had nodded off, her breathing steady and shallow. Sam glanced at her before sighing softly then turning to Dean.

"What did we get ourselves into? Are we even sure we can take care of her? She shouldn't be like us, Dean. She's just a kid."
Evie nodded as she took in the information before looking out the window for a moment, letting silence hang over them. "Do you think the angels wanting the apocalypse would go after me?" She asked softly, frightened of the truth. If they did, at least she knew of a few ways to protect herself.

Sam looked at Dean as Evie questioned them, unsure of how to answer at first. "Even if they did, we won't let them. Neither would Cas."
"Salt or anything with iron in it. If you can find their grave or whatever they're tied to, burn it so they can be put to rest." Evie replied, smiling proudly at her answer. She had dealt with a few ghosts when she was younger so that was easy for her. She did guess her best at the ones she wasn't sure about sometimes getting it right.

"Are there ways to kill a demon? I know salt and traps prevent them from moving, holy water and symbols hurt them, and an exorcism sends them back to hell." She said, genuinely curious. If they were going up against one she wanted to be prepared.

"If you're an angel like Cas, you can smite them. Seeing as how we're human, we have the demon blade." Sam replied, grabbing it to show her.

"Cool." She said, fascinated by the dark blade with carved symbols.
"Someone we can trust?" Evie asked, tilting her head to one side in curiosity. With all this information being dumped on her, it was natural for her to question everyone's alignment. Cas she at least knew she could trust. "Yeah, you can trust Bobby. He's been there for us since we were kids." Sam replied.

Always there whenever their father left for a hunt, leaving them alone for days on end. Patching them up from a hunt or exploring the area around his house. More of a father figure than John had been.
"Hey!" Evie exclaimed with a giggle before wiping it off with a napkin. Sam was less impressed as he gave his brother a look of really before wiping it off. Whether it was being soulless or being a bit more mature than his brother, it was clear he didn't like the little prank.

Once finished with breakfast, Evie packed up and headed to the car with the brothers. "So, what's the plan?" She asked as they drove off.
