The main thing everyone was discussing on the last page was whether the skills should be set at five, fifteen, or an open ended option of skills to choose from.

I posted my own list of 18 skills but while working on my own characters, found that I couldn't customize their powers the way I wanted. (For example, I couldnt differentiate between force fields and magnetic manipulation but would have to lump them both under Psionic and just 3 points)

I personally feel like an open amount of skills to discuss in order to not let anyone be over powered is the best option.

Sweet! Looks like this is getting some traction! If you're interested, betelgeuse, I've got some (D20 Superheroes) books I could share with you for a broader range of powers if you don't feel like doing all the legwork yourself or run out of things to think of.I had a few questions, though:Can we have multiple characters? I've got an old standby I like to stick with for superhero types of games (a gravity manipulating young adult) but have a few other characters I'd like to pass by you. Also, should we wait until the OOC is up to post characters or no? Character thread, maybe?

I'm glad to see the interest build as well! Any books would be helpful, I'll be working on an OOC (basically just cleaning up the original post) and get it up before the end of the week.

You're more than welcome to three characters, as long as it's not too overloaded to the point where you get writer's block for three different story lines. The main point of this game is that I don't want people to drop out- this is an open world where we can create all the history and background we want.

Feel free to toss up character profiles and ideas- I'm going to do the same as well. Finished profiles can be placed in the OOC and then linked into charcater thread.
I was trying to work on my own profile and found that it was hard to create his power profile with even a range of sixteen skills. This is what it would be with an open choice of skills:

Magnetic Field Manipulation: 3
Force Field Creation: 3
Flight: 3
Hideout: 1
Endurance: 2
Wealth: 1
Brawl: 1
Strength: 1

Older Lady with Cash:

Wealth: 3
Hideout: 3
Manipulation: 3
Transportation: 2 (A bullet-proof limousine)
Science: 1
Political/Social Fame: 2
Body Guard Robot: 1

I just figure with an open discussion between everyone involved in the game, every new character can have equal and interesting skill sets that can be very diverse.

Just to note, I'm currently planning on an anti-hero super similar to Magneto as a heads up. Possibly an older extremely wealthy woman obsessed with not aging...

Also, the map is slowly going underway.

Yay, map progression!
I love all the input ^_^

As far as a compressed list of skills to pick from- I appreciate the effort, but a big reason I wanted to plan the game with a wide option of skills is so we can get a more specific idea of their abilities. I understand the classic set of Strength/Will/Dex from most games, but it seemed to keep people from fine tuning their characters in my own opinion. Maybe if I go a bit more in depth, it could help.

I like the idea of also keeping the list to fifteen skills as well. This is a brief list of skills I thought up when I first made the game:

Brawl: 1- One scrappy fighter 2- Boxing or hand to hand training 3- Deadly assassin fists
Melee: 3- Can cut a bullet in midair
Strength: 1- Pro Body Builder 2- Able to toss a car a bit Strength 3- Hulk Smash
Speed: 1-Higher than Olympic speed, 3- Near The Flash or Quicksilver
Psionic: Fire-bending, Telekinesis, Ice-Man,
Psychic: Telepathy, Empathy, Illusions, Animal Control, Precognition, Super Reflexes
Endurance: 1
Dexterity:
Science: Your ability to create and augment scientific equipment both in complexity and offensive/defensive capability.
Magic: Alternate-universe granted abilities
Agility:
Flight:
Stealth: 1- Slip into the shadows 2-Dark Knight 3- Invisibility
Manipulation: The more manipulation you have, the more henchmen you have. One is equal to six consistent goons at your disposal on a mission or in a quick getaway. Two is several small gangs and informants. Three is corporation or similar under your control.
Security: Your ability to hack into devices, pick locks,
Wealth:
Hideout: 3- Batcave, Stark Tower
Transportation: 0- Hoofing it, 1- Average vehicle, 2- Sports car, motorcycle 3: Batmobile, Goblin Glider
This is awesome! Im off buying a puppy and posting from my phone, but im keeping up on the names- I like a lot of them and some would be good for neighborhoods
Absolutely, the more, the merrier! I wasnt sure if i should have posted this as a high casual or advanced but we'll see how many more we can get interested.

And thanks, I like to use images and hopefully a map to help get the mood and theme across.

Sorry about the delay, but I promise to get the character sheet up ASAP.
I'll try to get the character sheet and an example up soon as well.
Yes, you can basically go through whatever motivation for your character that you would like. You could just be a highly trained assassin looking to exterminate all of the new 'supers' or vigilante cop that just found out he has super strength.

I just have the Paradigm Stone as a plot point that any character can pursue for any reason. A scientist could try to experiment on the radiation it gives off, someone else might want to use it as a magical portal to an Asgard-like world and another might just want it to take over the mob. Someone else could just want to destroy the gem and keep others from having it.

But, again, the stone isn't even a necessary point at all.
