Alright so what is everybody feeling as far as setting goes?Right now I'm debating between two possible themes:
1. A medieval fantasy theme with feuding noble houses. The murder would likely take place at a royal banquet, or at a wedding. Characters would include knights, princesses, elves, goblins, that sort of thing.
2. A Hollywood theme with the murder taking place at an awards show of some kind. The characters would all be Hollywood stars (producers, directors, actors, etc.) and would be parodies of different types of celebrities.
I'm wondering if anybody would be interested in participating in a murder mystery RP. This RP would be a little different than others because instead of creating characters from scratch, I would PM each player a random character outline. The outline will include key information that your character possesses regarding the mystery, as well as information regarding their relationships with other characters. After reading the outline, you would have the freedom to flesh out the character's personality and play them however you wish. The plot would involve all of the characters coming together for some kind of a event, like a dinner party or a banquet, which is where the murder would occur. It will then be your job to piece together what happened in the murder and discover the culprit by interacting with the other characters, learning information from them, and putting it all together.

This RP isn't meant to be that serious. The characters and scenario will likely be pretty over-the-top and it's not going to be a long-term RP. If you're looking for a fun little diversion and you think you have what it takes to solve a mystery, then this is the RP for you.
I'm a pretty big fan of Digimon, so if I can think up a cool character I'll join.

Also, Digimon Warriors seems like a pretty good title for the RP and would fit in with the other Digimon series names.
So I've been watching Big Brother Canada (shout out to my fellow Canucks), and it gave me the idea to do an RP based on competition reality shows like Big Brother or Survivor. I would act as the host and mediator, and the in-character thread would basically be the "house" that all the competitors live in. Voting to eliminate other players would be done by PMing me your vote, and I would then announce who had been evicted in the IC thread. Competitions would probably work the same way, I would ask some sort of question, the players would PM me their answers, and I would then announce the winner of the competition. I think it could be a lot of fun, so post in this thread if your interested. Ideally I'd want maybe 8-10 players.
This seems interesting, and if nobody else is up for it, I could be your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.

So... Is this still happening?

Hopefully, I'm just swamped with some stuff at school right now. I'm in my last year of university and it's crunch time for exams and final projects and shit like that.
Once Inuyasha posts his CS I feel like we might as well get started. Since this is more of an open world RP, I feel like people can jump in pretty easily.

Just a suggestion.
Name: Jek Vector

Class: Smuggler

History: Born and raised on “the smuggler's moon”, Nar Shaddaa, it seemed as though it was Jek's destiny to become a slimy, double-crossing, no-good swindler. After losing his parents at a young age, Jek was forced to look out for himself, falling into a life of crime in order to get by. Theft, extortion, spice dealing, illegal swoop racing, all were par for the course on Nar Shaddaa, and Jek quickly learned the skills he would need in order to survive.

In the world of smugglers and crime lords the best policy in not to trust anybody, and Jek certainly doesn't. His only friend is a multipurpose droid named Bolts, who has been a loyal companion even since he was found in a garbage heap outside a seedy cantina. Bolts is rather peculiar for a droid, and has a very cynical outlook on the fact that he is not technically a living thing. Nevertheless, he is the closest thing Jek has to family.

As one could imagine, Jek's life has left him with a certain degree of psychological baggage, and so it's understandable that he would have a few vices. One particularly expensive vice is gambling (although being a spice addict is pretty damn expensive), and Jek sometimes has a tendency to gamble with money he doesn't have. After racking up an exorbitant gambling debt, a bounty was put on Jek's head, and he decided to flee Nar Shaddaa. A decent plan aside from the fact that he didn't own a star ship.

It turned out that not owning a ship was only a minor hurdle, and with a little help from Bolts, Jek was able to slice into a hangar bay and steal a freighter known as the Scavenger. The only problem is that the Scavenger was the property of one of the most sinister crime lords on Nar Shaddaa, who now also wants Jek dead. Needless to say, returning to Nar Shaddaa is ill-advised.

Jek and Bolts now travel the galaxy, taking freelance work wherever they can find it. This work has led to a few close calls with Republic authorities, and rival criminals, but such is the life of a scoundrel (and his droid).

Equipment:
- His two trusted blaster pistols
- Thermal detonators
- His freighter ship, the Scavenger
- Bolts, his multipurpose droid. Equipped with a fusion cutter for vehicle/computer terminal slicing, and a blaster for blasting things
- Rugged charm and charisma

Sigurd's sword, Gram. The wreck of the , which may still have the Golden Fleece aboard. The Sessho-seki. The iron needle that contains the soul of Koschei the Deathless. The Peaches of Immortality. What time period are we setting this in, and what kind of foes can we expect to fight?

The story will probably start in 1959, so that it makes sense for Indy to be retired. As far as the foes, the Russians are the obvious choice given the time period, and I was also thinking about using the Chinese. Hopefully we will have multiple adventures and we can use a variety of villains. One of the scenarios I have in my head involves the team ending up shipwrecked on an island, where a band of mercenaries are looking for an artifact for some nefarious purpose. The plot would involve the team stopping the mercenaries and finding a way off the island.

The Argo idea is interesting, there could be a cool parallel between our team of heroes and Jason and the Argonauts.
Ideally, I think we need about 5-6 characters. Do you guys have any ideas on what kind of character you want to play? And do you have suggestions/recommendations for artifacts the team can go after?
