Current I think to sell someone on an interest check, it's really important to seem enthusiastic about your own idea. That means writing more than a single sentence to attract potential players.

Did you know that Dante's inferno is called a divine comedy because things work out for the protagonist? Back in the day, the only two genres were comedy and drama. The only difference was that in a comedy, the protagonist is better off at the end, and a drama is the opposite. So that's why a story about going through hell can still be considered a comedy, even if it's not funny.

Name:
Broken Promise, BP, Boss

Age:
Old enough to know better, too young to care. (that is to say 30's)

Preferred RPs:
I Prefer to make my own, but will occasionally join something if it looks interesting. I'll join just about anything so long as it isn’t overly edgy/sweet, though it's rare for me to do. I don't do 1x1s too often either.

Preferred Roles:
I tend to play adorable characters everyone wants to befriend or proper assholes everyone wants to stay away from. I try not to play moral paragons or prime evils.

RP Conquests:
I've completed quite a few RP's off site, but most of them are on private forums or have simply been lost to the ravages of server crashes. As for stuff here, I'm sure everyone who sees me post in the off topic sections has seen me find an excuse to talk about Danganronpa: Tower of Carnage. It's a project that took over 4 years to complete and I feel pride not only for myself but all the wonderful people who helped make it enjoyable during its run. Re: Zero: The High Council Is technically my first, but it was just something I kind of took over and ended up ending the story after just six months. It finished, but eh...

Last RP I finished was Symphony of Espers which turned out pretty good.

RP's in progress:
For some reason I can't seem to stay away from Ari's magical girl RP, even if I'm not sure why I'm still in it.

As for my own projects, I'm doing Symphony on High to continue the gigachad adventures of the espers in Pax Septimus.

RP Graveyard:
I've been pretty fortunate on this forum. I think I joined one when I first came on the site that didn't really do anything, and there are a few 1x1 things that didn't go anywhere. It's disappointing when an RP ends before it can be finished, but I've come to look at them as learning experiences.

And then there's that london magical girl RP, and that dark magical girl RP. I think I'm done joining magical girl RPs for a while.

Other interests:
Videos
I watch a lot of educational videos on youtube. Usually as research for something I’m writing or purely because a topic interests me. I like channels like Tier Zoo and Daryl Talks Games, and I’ll also watch things like Critical Drinker or Literature Devil to deepen my understanding of story telling. Though I also like memes and jokes, to which I’ll find myself watching stuff like Sseth, but usually find myself surfing through meme videos. I gotta work on that.

Games
I have a rather long history of playing virtually every platformer to come into existence during the indie boom, as well as quite a few other indie games. I’ve played Meatboy, Binding of Issac, Gunvolt, Cuphead, Princess Remedy in a World of Hurt, Classic Metroid, Warcraft 3, Final Fantasy 7,8, and 14, Left 4 Dead, Shantae, Celeste, Danganronpa, God Eater, the list goes on. What I’ve played is kind of all over the place. I don’t play many games these days, I tend to pick things that look interesting and go on a decent steam sale.

Painting Minis
I do this in moderation. Otherwise, it's a pretty expensive hobby to start...

Music
I listen to everything, save most country/rap songs. I have too many favorites to name.

Personality:
Not one to take life or the internet too seriously. Is only serious about writing well and having a good time.

People to Insult:
Dalton is a Dingus.

@TaintedMushroom I was aware of parts of this app, but I have discussed it with Majoraa.

There are a few similarities between Endless Eclipse, Oros's black starry katana and Secret Seeker, Bardo’s black starry katana. They even have the ability to divine information, albeit in different ways. But overall I think Bardo and Oros the Mad have enough differences that changes aren't needed. They're both occult themed, but one is a scholar and the other is a cultist that draws on the power of eldrich abominations. I only bring it up because I mentioned this was a concern of mine.

Secret seeker feels pretty loaded without the random "skill" increase. I'm not sure how long they would last or how we'd determine what to increase either. We feel like just knowing what the opponent is capable of would give Bardo an advantage he could exploit anyway. This next bit is more of a warning than a critique, but chaos damage does little damage to espers and is less impressive than arcane attacks vs monsters. Though it has some niche uses/advantages against non-monster magi and is effectively an anti-material weapon. Just making sure that's what you want.

The buff to movement notes is quite strong. A single rank increase would be fine but doubling it is effectively going beyond what an "S" rank note can do. If you need more oomph out of your notes, the [weightless] note triples the push distance by making your target unable to really "stand" on the ground.

If that all sounds reasonable to you, make the changes and fling Bardo into the dark abyss of the character section.

As a spectator I am lost but will spectate as that is something spectators do.
The Grand Magistrate has been aware of the situation. Though perhaps worse, so has she.
@Nakushita That's a lot of edge for someone who fights with pistols.

Anyway, I don't see any issue with pistols that have the range and penetrating power of an anti-material rifle. You can take Happy "Neubenheimer" Chaos and slap them in the character tab.

We're looking pretty good player wise. I'm going to give @TaintedMushroom and Dalton some time to work on their characters, but I think we'll be starting sooner than later. If anyone else is interested in joining we have plenty of room.
@Izurich Yes, that satisfies our concerns. You may take your double agent and fly her to the character tab.
@Izurich The issue is not that that they get a free enhance on their flight, it's that they get a free enhance on their flight and flight itself is absolutely free. Just by casting it at gold rank they get A rank speed, and if they enhance it further they get S. So for 32 mana per turn they get the fastest movement speed in the RP and can fly on top of it. Or for free they can fly slightly slower than that. Why even use other notes?

So you can keep the rank up on flight if you'd like, but I'd like to see the mana cost reduction toned down a bit. Maybe [bronze self] is totally free, which would give Angel the option to cruse around in "low power mode," but she'd have to burn mana to go full speed?
Hunt Table

Here they are, back with a vengeance, the hunts!

Basically they function like mini operations that are tackled in collabs. You start with full mana and it gets restored before the next operation. Participation in hunts isn't mandatory, but it is a fun way to immerse your esper deeper into the world. Sometimes they can even have effects on the main operations. Both Dante and the Weretigers debuted in hunts before they ever showed up in operations. So you never know when you might have a run-in with the RP's future BBEG.

While they function a lot like operations, there are a few rules that govern how and when they can be participated in.

-During a single downtime segment, you may participate in one hunt.

-Hunts are always tackled with two espers. Both espers are preferably player characters, but an NPC will join you if necessary.

-Hunts have a difficulty to help illustrate how challenging they are for your esper.

Bronze: Super easy, barely an inconvenience.
Silver: Some difficulty, may present a challenge.
Gold: Reasonably challenging.
Diamond: Very challenging, feels like some main operations.
Challenger: May be impossible.

-If a hunt cannot be completed during downtime, it will be put on hold and resumed during the next downtime.

-As hunts are finished up, new ones will take their place.

And without further ado, the hunts:

The Phantom of Pax Septimus
Description: There's been numerous reports of apparent ghost activity popping up on Shimr recently. From what you can gather, this entity doesn't seem to be malicious in nature, but it might be worth investigation nonetheless.

Difficulty: Bronze

Notes: Have the Ghostbusters on speed dial.

Taken by Noah Anderson and Marrie Knight

A Midsummer Night's Problem

Description: There's been a rise in missing persons cases over the past week. The most notable pattern of victims being young students from Marrywell Academy. Further investigation by GEMINI reveals this was the works of a faerie, or a court of them, who soon plans on spiriting the captives away to their realm as their new wards. Or worse, as their pets. Negotiate the captives' freedom or eliminate the winged pest, quickly.

Difficulty: Silver

Notes: Faeries are quite tenacious. Hopefully you've memorized their weaknesses.

Taken by Ashley Avenir and Asher Blake

Capitalist Punishment
Description: It’s almost time to elect a new mayor for Pax Septimus, and Lydia Vanhorn is doing well at the polls. That said, her pledge to increase program spending and increase taxes on the rich has not been very favorable with said businesses. So unpopular that someone stormed into Dan’s Tractor Supply, dismantled some of their tractors, and used the scrap to build power armored soldiers and a mecha. While that’s all very cool, they’re being a little unruly, and are a menace to not only Lydia’s backers, but the rest of society. Defeat the pilot and stop the madness!

Difficulty: Gold

Notes: Mecha armor is thick. You may need some help piercing it.

Taken by Cirilla Vrabel and Finnegan Vanhorn

Communal Beatdown

Description: The current mayor, Davis Gallo, is doing well at the polls. Though some have taken issue with his choice to cut funding to green earth projects and instead putting it towards the police force, infrastructure, and rebuilding the city. This upset someone enough to lay siege to the mayor’s office. They got the help of some “green espers” and even a few monsters. Apparently the mermaids and frog men are not okay with the level of carbon emissions in Pax. Defeat the instigator before things get even more out of hand.

Difficulty: Gold

Notes: Apparently, the instigator is a wiz with portals.

Speaking of christian servers, you can join us on discord right now!
@ERode Klava 2.0 looks solid. "Dai-katana" isn't a proper keyword though, but I think greatsword fits with the whole nodachi/big ass katana vibe you're going for. SWOLE DEFLECT looks fine, just be aware that a behemoth's fist or other retardedly huge attacks aren't going to just bounce off of her sword. Just wanted to put that out there before signing off on it. But yea, just change that keyword and SLAP 'ER IN THERE!

Sorry for the huge delay. I'd like to say that I've been working on this since 2 days ago, but I haven't had the chance til now, so pretend this was done then.
Does "As of becoming a Gold Rank Genre, Marrie has found that she's able to become one with the wind and turn incorporeal when casting Melodies. This comes with a 20 mana cost at the start of the casting." sound about right or need to be balanced more?

20 mana is about half of the cheapest way you can cast it normally. It's also a note wind peeps don't normally get, and your special offers other forms of versatility. For reference, Mika has a gold escape special and, while it costs no mana, it offers no other utilities and can only be used three times. I think what would be fair would be to just to let you slap [Intangible] in your melody with the understanding that it only effects Marrie during cast. This represents Marrie's struggle to cast a spell while also turning herself into air. If Marry tries to form a big expensive counter attack, it'll be more costly than doing something more simple. So I'd say...

"As of becoming a Gold Rank Genre, Marrie has found that she's able to become one with the wind and turn incorporeal when casting Melodies. She can do this by adding an Intangible note to her melody."

That sound cool? If so, slap it in da tab.

@Izurich Geez, the new wave of Inquisition plants really suck at hiding their allegiance. Real talk, I stand with #superiortosilmeria. We're still going over this one though so I'll give you a final verdict when I'm not making dinner/doing taxes/multitasking.
@TaintedMushroom We should still have room if you choose to join. Also your screen name reminds me of a certain band.

Also, I typically wait to pose this question after all the starting characters are accepted but how does everyone feel about discord? The last RP had one and it was a nice place to ask questions and converse with the other players.
