@The Irish Tree Do you see any issue with me drafting a few profiles for important NPCs in the Dreamlands?
This 1x1 with Lugubrious is fun, but I'm realizing that the Dreamlands is too complex and nuanced for a single feline to deal with on his own. It'll fall apart if there isn't some kind of staff to keep it running.
Flan quickly noticed the familiar furball watching the proceedings with interest. "Lord Chompy Bits, here for dinner and a show I take it? Now let's see, which recipe should we try out today." Flan made sure that whatever they chose, there would be onions, mostly because Socrates had started using the kitchen without her permission. There had to be at least a small price to pay after all, mimics could get a little too into their roles after all.
Flan quickly set Socrates up but made sure to only help when necessary, mostly to protect the kitchen. Once she had a break she turned her attention to Lord Chompy Bits. "So what will be your treat today? I have a feeling I'll be able to easily accommodate you considering the abundance of rodent life we seem to have these days."
"Such flattery. You spoil me, Flan." The furry nightmare yawned and blinked slowly, appreciatively. "A saucer of warm cream and live mouse would be excellent, just like C.L. used to make." A soft purr rumbled through the counter top.
"Please prepare some meals for my servants as well. Countess Ilavendra and her spawn are more insatiable than I am, if you believe. They bled dry twelve stags in two days. I'll need more human sacrifices, if I'm going to keep the peace. You're perhaps one of the few people who understands how ravenous the Dreamlanders really are." He let out a heavy sigh as his gaze listlessly wandered across the kitchen until rested on a tall, spice rack. It was every so slightly crooked and smudges of dried slime tarnished the surface, but each ingredient had been arranged with care and precision.
"Tell me, Flan. How well stocked is your pantry? Are we missing anything? I could collect a few more ingredients during my travels." @IceHeart
<Snipped quote by Lucius Cypher> Anyway, either one would have to enter someone's territory to take a bath or else there is a more communal one for everyone else. Hmm, well I can also just put one in the barracks for all those non-affiliates. Otherwise need to know which areas are open for non-members.
Y'know, this entire discussion makes me want to make new aquatic character whose primary job is to look after a communal bathhouse. Im imagining it would be kinda like Spirited Away, in that it has to cater to a variety of different monsters. Maybe even a healing springs? Hmm...
I have a matter of utmost urgency to discuss. We must decide what sort of baths we have at the Chateau. Large, marble roman style? Open air onsen style? Or perhaps something more conventional like tubs and showers? We must discuss and decide for...reasons. Well mostly I was thinking of writing a scene in one but I'm not really sure which way to go with it, also I am sure everyone will find this topic extremely important.
Why not all of them? There's plenty of space.
I imagine Ashara's shrine has an onsen Graft's chapter probably just has cleansing vats filled with god-knows-what.
I'm not sure what the bath in the other chapters would be like....
@IceHeart Flan is preicous jelly cinnamon roll and must proteck! ALWAYS PROTECK!
As for new characters and things we're lacking, many of the roles suggest to Burning still apply.
- A dedicated healer - A very specialized assassin - With OZ gone we now have no real smith for weapons and armor of any quality - A high-tier resource gatherer (we got mooks, but mooks can't mine adamantite! mining level too low~) - A water/ocean/underwater specialist - A dedicated saboteur - A dedicated tailor - A dedicated enchanter - A dedicated scryer/seer - A dedicated jester
Pick two and have a ball with it.
I vote for a Fashionista Healer or a Scuba Miner Also, a Smith Assassin is viable, which gives me a bit of a Mandalorian vibe.
