Hmmm... We should probably use different superhero aliases for them. How about this: You can use Superboy for Jon, and I'll tweak Conner a little to add some powers similar to Remy LeBeau and Bishop from Marvel. Conner's alias can be Red Gambit, and in additional to some of the physical capabilities of being half-Kryptonian, he can channel the stored solar energy normally used for Heat Vision to instead fire red hand blasts, charge himself up kind of like KaioKen, and use his stored energy as a catalyst to convert potential energy into explosive kinetic energy, thus turning inanimate objects into bombs through that molecular acceleration.

I'm still working on his exact powerset though so I don't make him too OP.

All those ideas seem awesome! Though, with the mention of Steel and the Death of Superman arc, I should note that the first appearance of both Bizarro and Doomsday are tied into my ideas for the greater plot, and so I had planned for those to happen at some point after the start of the RP. However, I think I've devised a way to make Steel's origin work with this continuity:

In the early days of the Justice League, while rebuilding after the Reach invasion, the other Kryptonian spacepods were uncovered, which contained General Zod and a team of high-ranking military officers who had been commanders in the Apokkian Wars. In this continuity, Zod is not a villain (at least not yet), and is devastated that the war went on without them and has now been over for thousands of years. Their original plan was to use Earth to breed new super soldiers for the conflict, but the cryogenic stasis never released them as expected and they slumbered for millennia.

Wanting to learn more about his people, Kal-El accompanied Zod and the other Kryptonians to search the shattered remains of their homeworld, and then completely vanished. Many people assumed Superman had either died or abandoned them for his own kind, and were relieved when he returned seven months later. So, John Henry Irons could have been operating as Steel during that period. As for why Superman was gone so long, he explains that they got pulled into an ongoing conflict with a large slaver fleet led by a rogue AI system and an army of robots. After defeating the fleet and all the back-up drives of the AI (who will eventually return as Brainiac in our RP), Zod and his team continued on deeper into space and Superman returned to Earth.

So, that gives a Death of Superman-like event for Steel's origin while also preserving Bizarro and Doomsday for my idea XD.

Sure! Though let's make them fraternal twins instead of identical so that we can still choose different faceclaims. My plan was to make Conner 16 to start and was thinking like July 31st for his birthday, does that work okay for you?

As for Dick and Wally, I'll probably make them both 17.

This RP is inspired both by the OG Teen Titans and Young Justice cartoons, but sits in its own custom universe. A quick rundown:

Millennia ago, Krypton was a member of the Republic of United Systems, which had a pact with the Guardians of the Universe of Oa and the Lantern Corps. But then they went to war with the Apokk Imperium led by Lord Imperator Uxas (my version of Apokolips and Darkseid). Apokkian scientists created Kryptonite to weaken the Kryptonians and used a device called a Quantum Decay Cannon to trigger rapid aging of their star, Rao, causing it to expand to the red giant phase in a matter of days before ultimately exploding. They repeated this on other stars, the Republic eventually copied the technology, and soon most of galactic civilization was left a massive graveyard of shattered worlds. Some survivors banded together in smaller groups and organizations, but nothing that came close to the scale of the Old Republic, as it came to be called.

Far away from all of that, the planet Mars managed to stay out of the conflict due to their impressive cloaking technology, which made their world appear dead and lifeless to all outsiders. Their close neighbor Earth harbored detectable life, but at that point in its history it had yet to develop advanced technology and thus was no threat to the warring factions. However, it had become home to several spacepods that had been sent from Krypton just prior to it exploding, the inhabits locked in cryogenic sleep.

After thousands of years, the pods had gradually been claimed by the Earth, but after a massive earthquake hit the state of Kansas, one of the pods floated up through a crack in the bottom of a lake just outside the town of Smallville. This held the infant Kal-El, still in cryogenic stasis after all those millennia. He was found by Jonathan and Martha Kent, who raised him as their son.

Fast forward decades later, and Clark operates as the hero Superman. He is married to Lois Lane and they have a son together named Conner Kent. Yes, I am using Conner as their son instead of Clark's cousin/clone. If anyone wants to play Kara, feel free to have her be Conner's twin sister or something. I mentioned the backstory of that galactic conflict because it will become an important part of the plot as we go and I wanted to set the stage for that.

Conner will be one of my main characters, as well as Dick Grayson/Robin and Wally West/Kid Flash. At the beginning of the RP, the "sidekicks" are attending the Justice League's Tenth Anniversary Celebration at the Hall of Justice in Washington, D.C. It has been ten years since the League first formed to fight an alien invasion by the Reach (one of the surviving civilizations from the Apokkian Wars), and tonight they are celebrating that union with a gala of sorts. Members of the Press, celebrities, politicians, etc. are all in attendance, while millions others watch on their personal devices via livestream.

For the first few posts, our characters will be suited-up and providing security for the event while mingling with each other and guests, but then everything changes when there is a mass prison break at Belle Reve and most of the League has to rush to clean up the mess, leaving the sidekicks to watch over the celebration. And then, to make matters worse, a different set of villains attack the party while the League is gone, which Batman suspected might happen and warned the sidekicks to be on alert.

So, we'll start there, have a few chill posts at the event, and then set the combat in motion and allow the plot to unfold as we go. Feel free to ask any questions and discuss what characters you'd like to play. Though, I should note that I don't want anyone to be too overpowered, so don't go like full-on comic book levels with your powersets. Our characters are teenagers and not as experienced as the older heroes, and the writing should reflect that.

Anyway, I'll leave it there and look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

Power Rangers: Scarab Squad

Do you guys think I should recreate this with a much shorter intro post? To get it moving, I could just scrap the entire backstory and instead our characters are hanging out together at the beach and a container washes up on shore holding the Scarabs. And we can take it slow and wait until we're a few posts in before the bonding happens and then take it from there. I'll probably change the Dark Ranger character around to be a teen like them if we do that.

I'm booked up or might've joined, but just wanted to say, cool idea, man.
We used to watch these movies a lot and they're still a good time - the new one was good too which can't be said about a lot of remakes.
I remember nothing of the cartoon except that I'm sure my bro and I did watch it; played a video game or two, as well.

Also, I think I'm just gonna repurpose Trevor Spengler. He is Egon's grandson in the movie, but I'll just rework him as Egon's son instead and say Egon didn't have kids until much later in life. Also, since Janine kind of had a crush on Egon in the movies and cartoon, I'm gonna have her be Trevor's mother. In this RP's continuity, they started dating in the 80s, she was kind of a hippie, and totally loved all his paranormal talk. They traveled and went on adventures and stuff for over 20 years before finally settling down and having Trevor. Now with a child to care for, Janine began to get annoyed at Egon's continued obsession with the paranormal, and also feeling like he had strung her along all these years with talk of some great paranormal event that never came to pass.

Eventually things devolved into a shouting match when Trevor was seven years old where Janine basically said, "None of this was ever real, was it? It was all just BULLSHIT to manipulate me so I'd indulge in your fantasies! I put my life on hold for you! For twenty fucking years! Now we are married, own a home, trying to raise a child... And you're still out there chasing non-existent ghosts... You... You need help, Egon. I... I can't do this anymore... I want a divorce, and I want you to stay away from Trevor and I... I don't want you poisoning his mind with these delusions like you did mine..."

I have seen the original cartoon back in the early 90's, as well the nineties extreme ghostbusters, which was surprisingly good and not extreme in the wrong ways.
