Sam paused in his firing to reload, reaching into his pockets to find that there was no ammunition to speak of.
"If that don't beat all," Sam sighed, glancing up at Max (who was still on his shoulders) and putting his gun at his side "hey little buddy, you got any-" Before Sam could continue, a gunshot went off at his feet, causing him to jump and send Max falling to the ground headfirst. Scratching his head, Sam opened up his Revolver to find that all the cylinders had been filled.
"By my Great Grannie's moldy dentures," Sam exclaimed in surprised "I guess that's one of the perks of being in a fighting tournament, eh Max?"
"Was I supposed to check? I just kept shooting," Max replied casually, sitting himself upright and glancing ahead to see Dovahkiin approach Yangus "Sam, is it just the fall messing with my head, or are there two of them now?"
"It's not just you little buddy, unless the fat guy can expel hallucinogens or something," Sam remarked, taking aim once again at Yangus "looks like the Vikings evened the score with us Freelance Police."
"Goodie! More skulls to bust open!" Max said cheerfully, getting Dovahkiin in his sights.
(Meanwhile...)
The Doctor had been wracking his head on a way to get the door open. Yes, he had already put forward a logical hypothesis, but that doesn't mean he wanted to fight just yet. Besides being against the idea, he wanted to get a decent feel for everyone's possible fighting capabilities before he went head first in to battle. All he could figure out so far was that Asuka appeared to be a martial artist of sometime, but he couldn't get any sort of read on Robin or Viridian. He was thankful when a blonde haired man in a green tunic appeared over a nearby hill, figuring he would do for a good distraction.
"Hello there good man," The Doctor called out, raising an open hand to greet Link "perhaps you can help us, we're trying to get this-" Just then, the sound of a door unlocking quite loudly, followed by one opening creakily filled the air. Turning around, they could see the door they had been trying to get open for the past five minutes had just barely opened up. The Doctor scratched his head in confusion.
"Well, I was wrong then," The Doctor admitted sheepishly "though I wonder why it opened..."
