So, hm, what do you think of the Avalon?
<Snipped quote by Carolus Rex>

I'm mainly concerned if they use it for FTL. Since tachyons always move faster than light, if they somehow develop a way to convert themselves or their ships to tachyons and back after cannibalizing the Wave Motion tech, they could effectively bypass the existing hyperspace limitations in place in the Star Wars universe.

And also move faster than literally all of our ships barring a few I imagine.

This is why you should all protect the Avalon, it's somewhat of a White Mage in ship form after all. Not as much as the Ginga tho
Anything antimatter should, scientifically speaking, absolutely annihilate a Replicator. You cannot escape the fact that they're made of positively particles, which will annihilate upon contact with anti-particles completely to create a massive burst of energy. And sometimes new particles.

ucl.ac.uk/culture-online/case-studies…).

There will be no "damage" to recover from. Only kaboom.

It's why I so often avoid antimatter weaponry. Or note the actual science, because it's downright devastating.

I see.

Well, Avalon is just one small ship (compared to most of the others here), and if it somehow got infected... well, that would be very bad. Imagine the Replicators with Wave Motion Tech.

And, also, shields are great at dealing with it, at least in the SBY universe.
Welp, SBY ships have positron weapons as main guns, but they also have missiles and torpedoes. Though beams of antimatter might be something the Replicators can't quite adapt to.

And, if the Andromeda Class can also use kinetic shells like the Yamato, which can interchange (it's never been demonstrated on screen, but they're based on the same technology), then Avalon could give the Replicators some hurt through the old fashioned Tau'ri way.

It's interesting because in Trek lore, for the most part plasma based weaponry is considered outdated.

Isn't there an episode where Picard drops the Enterprise's shields just to mock a captain for trying to shoot the ship with lasers?

Not the same thing as plasma, yes, but it's pretty close, no?

I'm excited to see how they react to the CAS-class weapons ^^

explosions rock the bridge and random ass rocks fall from the ceiling, just like any other scene where a Starfleet ship gets hit

History of the Ship:

The Avalon was once one of the automated "Andromeda Black Berserk" Class Battleships churned out of the Time Fault Factory as part of an effort to defend the Sol System from the overwhelming forces that Gatlantis was bringing to bear. It did not bear a name; rather, it was simply identified by a registry number, part of a series of ships that were fully expected to be destroyed in battle against the White Comet Empire.

However, its fate would be much unlike its sister ships, who were almost completely wiped out in the battles to defend Earth and Mars. When the Yamato merged with the energies of the extra dimensional entity known as 'Teresa' in order to deactivate the Ark of Destruction and prevent it from destroying Earth as well as the rest of the universe, the Avalon was at drydock over Mars. It had suffered catastrophic damage, but its automated systems were able to drag it to safety. There, the Avalon was repaired, its captain witnessing the end of the Ark of Destruction as the precursor installation was completely destroyed by a singularity in its heart.

In the years that followed, the Avalon would be staffed by a crew, one composed of both Humans and Gamilans. It would also be given the duty of exploring the Milky Way in search for suitable colony worlds as well as potential allies and useful technology. It was on a mission in the Galactic Core, however, when its fate was once again upended: Teresa, the same extradimensional goddess that empowered the Yamato to save the universe, called upon them at the behest of yet another ascended being. They were to help save another universe from destruction, and so, as honor demands it, they agreed.

After all, they can't have Yamato have all the fun.

honestly it looks pretty weak, esp with how small it is, but hitting a Covenant CAS-class Assault Carrier with torpedos would quickly get an Urpeon-pattern lance aimed at your ship (in the business, this is known as Not Good)

Indeed... but it would be an excellent scout.

But, well, I might just do an Asgard O'Neill or an SBY Andromeda Class Battleship.
So, uh, on top of what I said earlier... how does a dimensional submarine sound?

yamato.fandom.com/wiki/Dimensional_Su…

I'm concerned that it might end up being a bit broken due to its dimensional submersion, but on the other hand, other ships probably won't even mind getting hit by a few of its torpedoes due to shields.
Mmmmm, interesting.

Might either throw out a sister ship of the Asuka from SBY 2205 (rather than a planet busting wave motion gun, it fires missiles that creates shields).

Or, perhaps, an Asgard O'Neill Class Battlecruiser. Maybe even have Thor himself on board. After all, it's the Replicators we're up against.

And, since the Hammond is here, this Asgard ship would be from a parallel universe where the Asgard don't commit collective suicide.
