One note: you can consider Knives to be covered by Hand-to-Hand. Hand-to-Hand involves both unarmed fighting, knife fighting, and other very small arms fighting (like kukris, shanks, etc). So, feel free to change your Hand-to-Hand to II and to use your leftover 1 point on another weapon.

For his flaws, would you consider renaming Coarse to Crude? And for traits, can you define Cool-Headed? And finally, being Well-Read is reflected by Expertises and Skills; perhaps, however, he could be a Quick Reader / Quick Study? Everything else looks good.

Personality is good. Equipment is good. History is good. Make the edits I've advised and your character gets a thumbs up. He can join the cast of characters I will consider.

Yeah the flaws/traits section is also unfinished. However, shouldn't it be two traits - one flaw, plus one trait from Criminal background and then an optional trait and flaw from middle-aged so making it 3/1 or 4/2 respectively. Or am I missing something?

I'll make the adjustments after work today.

Traits are intrinsic qualities of your character. They are generally positive in nature, indicating their unique strengths. Traits are customized per character - you can make up your own traits (and can make up your own flaws and proficiencies as well). However, if you try to make your traits too broad, your character will be denied or forced to be revised. (For instance, naming a trait Perfect and saying “He’s the best at all the things” will get you a boot to the head. Inventing a trait about your character’s strong olfactory sense or their affinity for animals is fine.)

Every character has two traits of their choice baseline. Different backgrounds and age categories may add additional traits.

Again, they are for you to name and define. Below are merely example traits. Feel free to devise your own or to use these at your leisure.

The thread's not dead, haha. I've gotten a few PMs concerning characters that haven't been posted here, and there's a handful of folks that are being considered as players. Everyone will get an [@] and a PM if necessary.

Boran Brenton (Critique, Incomplete)

Firstly, on traits/flaws: You should actually have two traits and two flaws total. As the big page says under flaws and traits: Every character gets 2 traits baseline, and every character gets 1 flaw baseline. The flaw you do have is good, but don't forget to include another one and two traits!

On equipment, having weapons drawn from your back can actually be really difficult. See: videos online explaining how hard it is to draw swords from your back. Having his axe at his hip in that noose most of the time makes plenty of sense. Likewise, the buckler would probably make the most sense attached to the belt. How big is that axe, by the way? What sort of axe is it? His armor and other equipment all make good sense.

Obviously, you haven't filled out proficiencies, but that's fine. You're not finished yet. No worries, my dude!

I like his backstory. It's short, conveys a pretty cool feel, and clearly establishes both who he was and who he is. It's good! I'll leave it at that.

Please tell me when you're finished. Also make the edits I suggested, please!
