Turn II Posts/Events:52) The Beginning of Turn II - The Celestial Celebration comes to an end, with the cycle of days and nights now established, and the world continues to be woven into something mighty.
55) More Lektor lessons: First, Haven descends into chaos because she gave mortals access to pleasure through competition. Ascetics rise, Lektor doesn't really like them because they quell their inner fire, which isn't the PATH for humanity. She undos the changes, puts up a no murder rule, makes Haven into a proper temple, gives students more to eat and drink. Teaches them how to write. Then creates animal people so we can have cat girls. You can thank her.
56) Lorelei finishes crafting an umbrella for Big Smoke, which he’s going to use as he travels outside of the darkwoods as he’s afraid of the sun. Astarte acts like an Astarte would and ends up making a fool of herself.
58) Myrtu flees the Steppe for the Northern Glaciers. Their eyes become permanent kaleidoscopes. They make the Centaur, Kinnaras, and ordinary Humans from proto-humans. Groups of three-hundred and twelve (said groups composed of one hundred Centaur, one hundred Kinnaras, one hundred Humans, and twelve Umbra) are SET FREE IN: The Taiga, Eastern Sea Coast near Darkwoods, South Western Green Plains, and Tundra (with half of this population fleeing to the underground in mixed numbers, while the other half became nomadic between the Northern Glaciers, Taiga, and Mountains.) Myrtu keeps the two leftover Umbra. Myrtu makes a giant sparkly cave under the Northern Glaciers, past the North Pole Point.
60) We open with the Feast of Po, a festival where the Porries give stuff to Po to eat. Here, we meet two of the big shot clans, Clan Highgeyser and Clan Peakfire, and one tiny poopy clan, Clan Blackshore. Highgeysers give Po whale meat, Peakfire gives her a poncho and Blackshore gives her squat. When Po gets angry, the Blackshores offer up a son much to the matriarch's dismay, but the others think this is very honorubru.
Cut to four people on a fishy boat, two young lads, an old man and a woman. The two lads, Yellow-Scalp of Highgeyser and Born-Aflame of Peakfire, get into a fight. Born-Aflame accidentally then kills him by making him fall into the ocean. The old man and the woman, now hateful towards the young lad, paddle on home to take him to be judged.
61) The Mortal Gang lands at the Mesa after hitching a ride with the Wonder Twins’ flying wagon. There, Astarte catches a whiff of divine energy and leads the gang to Rock Cat’s Temple. They stay at the temple for a few months, with Astarte becoming a gym bunny (not literal) in the process due to an incredible amount of bullying from many parties. Smoke becomes a gigachad and gets kidnapped by the Cougar Clique, and Lorelei becomes a mix between an actually nice cheerleader and councilor. Towards the end of their stay, Astarte wins 3rd place in a running contest and is taught an earth-element technique by Rock Cat. Lorelei was given a forge and some metal to fashion into whatever piece she needs to ‘fix’ her equipment as a participation reward. The collab finishes as Astarte (slime girl) announces the gang’s intention to move on soon to Rock Cat, and leaves to go on her morning run around the temple.
62) Maat'eyi comes into being and fixes her hat. She takes in the sights, gets inspiration, and creates Exordium, a sentient machine. It calls her out on her weirdness and she promptly leaves.
63) An Umbra village develops and around it a Satyr one as well. Ashevelen learns how to use shadows and unlocks the Shadow aspect. She changes a part of the Darkwoods into the Umbral Forest with her new powers, altering the environment. Ashevelen also decides that the Satyrs might not be enough to protect the woods and creates Tarsk. Highly territorial and loyal creatures. One Tarsk became feral as a Satyr approached too much to its food and an Umbra jumped in front of it, defending the Satyr. In a sign of benevolence, Ashe elevates the Umbra to the status of Hero and names it…Penumbra!
64) Ia’Akhul hangs out with the Iava’Oge as they descend upon the world before claiming the aspect of monsters and musing. She flies around as she gets a new idea, dropping off her humans temporarily in one of the Iava’Oge. After flying around and musing at the world and all its things, she flies to a mountain top again and creates Asar Sen. Her Avatar of Life and in her own view her Daughter. Fades out on her going to teach Asar Sen.
65) The wonder-twins travel into the Dark-woods and stand around awkwardly as they reach a bog. They are so awkward in fact that one of the entities stalking them throughout their whole journey decides to intervene. It’s Lorelei. She teaches them about physical contact and what adventures should be like. Towards the end of their interaction, they offer to give Lorelei and her gang a ride to the Mesa, where the twins have seen metal ore before.
66) Anath Homura and her daughters contend with each other, and their words become blows as Desire and Harmony seek to defeat their mother. Blood is shed in Keltra, and the fight comes to a brutal end.
67) Chud and Wonder are walking. They get to the sea and Chud proceeds to walk into it. Even in his titanic form, he begins to sink after. Wonder, on his head, doesn't like getting wet. By coincidence, at that moment, as Wonder raises his hands, the sea splits before them. This, uh, was not achieved via divine power or means, it coincidentally occurred at that exact moment, as Wonderboi raised his arms and seemed to will it. It's, uh, science. So anyhow, they cross the sea and then Chud and Wonderboi get into a little argument. Chud goes to meditate elsewhere and commands Wonderboi to stay put so he can come back and chop his head off later.
68) A porry called Bright-Eye is adventurous. She runs out into the storm and dances with Wehi Tama (who now has four arms). For her bravery and wonder she is granted the divine tama (basically, something akin to Polynesian mana). This makes her flame so hot that it becomes black and basically means she no longer has mortal needs. Anyhow, her tribe grows jealous and eventually cannibalizes her flame, thus spreading the tama amongst the entire population. They realize, towards the end when Bright-Eye is gone, that they are now the only source of tama and must consume one another if they want anymore. Not in the post, but it is likely that they’ll realize at some later point that they can grow what tama they already have by other means too.
69) The elves of the darkwood send out [advenurors] to see what happened to the south of the forest. At the same time, Penumbra starts their journey to discover the elves and see if they can be allies. After an initial altercation, the two mortal races discovered their languages are too different and they cannot talk with each other. After a few failed attempts on both sides, Ashevelen intervenes just before communication breaks down completely and teaches Penumbra how to speak the elvish language. While Penumbra knew the words, they didn’t fully understand the meaning behind them and when Fang tried to hug them, Penumbra thought they’re being attacked only for that to change quickly when Fang said they were trying to provide “empathy and affection” which Penumbra understood as “breeding”. Eventually, they go over that bit and they go into a lengthy conversation in which Penumbra tries to teach the gift economy having elves what trading means by putting up a shadow puppet show then giving different examples of trades while explaining each side’s point of view. The debate goes back and forth, and does not reach a satisfactory conclusion, the cultural differences too great to breach in a single conversation. Instead of letting this drag out, Penumbra invites them back to the village of the Umbra, so they can see a trading society working with their own eyes - an offer the [adventurers] take them up on.
70) The Shade of Gnosis, who answered Anath Homura’s call to become divine, calls upon the Creatrix for guidance. Though it receives little from her, what it does receive is enough to catalyze its transformation from shade to God. It ponders the nature of existence and what it must do and promises Anath Homura that they will find the answers they seek together, one way or another, before heading towards the continent in order to walk the Sacred Path.
71) Lektor makes stuff underground: A generic mushroom cave. A cave with an eternal burning cloud on its roof produced by coral reefs over geothermal vents, which feeds a jungle beneath the desert and creates pools of oil on the surface of the desert. A mangrove of iron in the lava lake.
72) Oa’qeisskesi is pondering and thinking and then she made an experiment: Race created Seis’huenaoi.
73) Fern, Pebble and Stag, 3 of the elves from the exploring the underground post, along with Lorelei the cat girl, (all of them now [adventurers] of various stripes) arrive at the base of the treehouse dungeon Jeon had made to house the legendary artifact: Granysmith’s cookbook, which he had tasked them with retrieving so they could use it to progress towards completing Lektoria’s quest for Pebble, which was to make pie. The 4 of them battle, sneak and run their way up through the sprawling treehouse settlement, facing off against Jim’s many undead minions, before confronting him at the top of the treehouse. Lorelei snatches the book off of him before he escapes on the backs of two undead flying sea turtles. The [adventurers] then examine their prize, realize that they will still have work to do desciperingit, and then take a short rest to level up before hedging back down the treehouse, mopping up the remaining undead with their new [skills]
74) Ashevelen is about to leave the forest but senses the presence of a different divine approaching at high speed. She gets attacked by the divine but manages to calm her down. They talk and Ashe notifies her of different divines that are around the world and is surprised to hear that she’s the first one, Oa met. Eventually Oa gets a new destination, the big elven city and offers the Self-Printing Coin to Ashe before she says that she won’t harm anyone just yet . Ashe takes this as a warning that soon this divine will cause problems for everyone, mortals included and decides to upgrade the Umbra in order for them to be ready for what may come later.
75) The post opens with a very overworked Ferryman taking even more people to the Ghostel. He shares his frustration with his Umbra colleagues for a bit and then makes the Bureaucrat, an avatar of extreme patience, efficiency and management skills. The Bureaucrat tells him to take sinful souls to Hell, so the Ferryman loads up and boats off. Cut to Aldion and Zylana discussing what to call the Servants of Not!Satan. After a lot of suggestions, Aldion suggests demons. After reaching this genius conclusion, the Ferryman arrives. After brief introductions, the Ferryman explains that he wants to be Aldion’s DHL. Aldion initially asks why, and the Ferryman says he wants to. This sounds good to Aldion and the two sign a contract - Satan gets the right of first refusal on sinful souls and the Ferryman gets to do his job. Afterwards, the Ferryman bounces.
76) No summary - how irksome.
77) Anagnostis and the Kathetikon wash up on the shore to find a small village of would-be philosophers eking out an existence in the harsh wilderness. The Kathetikon instructs Anagnostis to blend in with them and record them, hoping to add some information about the world to itself and satiate its curiosity about these new beings. The day just so happens to be something of a festival, the night of names, where the villagers will choose names for themselves that they currently lack. The Kathetikon is too curious to be able to observe impartially, even through Anagnostis, and exerts some of its power over the world to place them upon the path of curiosity and answer their questions. It teaches them the magical language Polyglos, that can only be written by those taught by the Kathetikon or its followers but can be read by anyone, and then offers them names that most suit them in its native tongue. It answers their many questions about life in the way that it thinks best, and creates an experience that none of them will ever forget. Its curiosity now satiated, the Kathetikon moves along alone but leaves Anagnostis behind to both help the villagers and also learn from them, recording their journey.
78) Ravdur makes the Eosin, settling them in the Taiga region and setting off to see the world.
79) A super short post! Here we meet the centaur band led by Druzhik Maneshaver as they fuck over an elven village in the grasslands. Confronted by the village chief, the Maneshaver contemplates what to do with him. His bloodsworn companions, Longlegs, Towfur, Mossnibbler and Horsefucker all agree that he should be ground into the ground. Maneshaver agrees, but not before scalping the everliving fuck out of him.
80) Lektor arrives and demands pie. Pebble makes apple pie. It's a good pie. Lektor gives her a small reward: “A kingdom in the underground”. She is now queen Pieapple I. She gets a crown that lets her take stock of her kingdom’s resources.
81) Tisslith, a dragon, has begun hoarding boats and seafaring vessels as they are Treasures for Mother. It also captures important people to give to a second dragon, Yalisith, because people are Treasures for Mother, too. Somebody should probably do something about this.
82) The robot boy from my last post is walking to Earthwall when he finds some elven bandits. He gets into a scrap, scares them off, and rescues a baby from among their victims.
83) Wyn travels upon her beast and finally gets a hold of herself. Realizing what she did to those elves back in the mire she decides to go back but quickly runs out of a trial to follow. One of her moths then tells her about Earthwall and she goes there. Navari goes over some day to day stuff and then hears about the shambling beast so rides out to see it. She finds Wyn there and they talk. Wyn by this point is disguised as an elf and keeping her divinity on the low so Navari helps the blind girl back to Earthwall. They learn some things from each other and then Celestine shows up but Wyn kinda freaks out and goes savage and almost bites Navari but Celestine saves her. Wyn leaves looking remorseful and the Elves are left to wonder. Celestine then creates a dome of protection around Earthwall, to ward off any potential attacks.
84) Another post without a summary - twice irked.
85) Intro for the Tup'wik tribe in the North-Eastern Taiga. They are a tribe composed of Centaur, Human, Kinnaras, and Umbra. The Kinnaras and Centaur have grown Moosehorns and Deer Antlers. They're also Bigger in physical stature. The Umbra reside in the shadows of the antlers, acting as second eyes for hunting and watching their backs, and being generally good company to keep one from being lonely. A trade of trust. The Tup'wik migrate along the Not-On-Fire Coast of the Taiga, sticking mainly to the coast, without going inland or too far north. Story: A Tup'wik Hunter has a baby. Hunter gets killed by a Nuqtuq tribe harpoon while hunting too far north. Mother of the Hunter's Baby wants to get some vengeance/closure by confronting the Nuqtuq tribe. She goes to prepare.
86) Wyn’s last personality is revealed. Ebony is a ruthless, pleasure seeking animal. She brutalizes people in the grasslands outside of Earthwall and beyond, before coming to a pause in some random elf village. There she bites a lone elf man and infects him with lycanthropy or the beast’s blood. They are then attacked by centaurs, or to her, horsemen and her new werewolf bites one, changing him as well. Wyn then creates a bow, promptly abandons it and her werewolves and then goes off hunting the fleeing horsemen, who by that point were fleeing for their lives.
87) Ia taught and hung out with her daughter. Daughter goes off to explore the world. Ia is sad and worried as it's the first time she’s gone. After being so distracted to almost run into a mountain, she dives into a cave system to distract herself. Ends up making some flying manta and large tubers that connect the solar rays of above with their massive tuber bodies going deep into the earth I to caves and such. Rests on a mushroom thinking of her daughter rather than the thoughts of further creation that she had promised herself.
88) Ashevelen starts her journey or would’ve if some other divine makes its way towards the Umbral Forest. She meets with them and discovers a divine form she hasn’t seen before. Inspired by the boundless knowledge the divine had, they talked for many days and nights about trading and pacts, gave him knowledge of the other divines Ashe met and then they tell her about the Umbra from Logio’. Eventually they agree on a fair trade with them teaching the Umbra in Shadowton the Polyglos language.
89) Kaelhmor is whisked into the world, realizing that in this place, he holds a power he never had before–the power to change his fate–and so sets out to do so. In the process, he creates the Great Lens–amplifying the brightness and warmth of starlight at the continent's center, as well as two artifacts: Masquerade - The Shadewalker’s Skein, and the Lesser Lens. Donning the shimmering cloak that utterly conceals him and the pendant of mirror-like light-trapping crystal Kaelhmor continues on his seemingly aimless journey. As he does so, he subtly alters the possible fates of several villagers with well-placed deceptions and ponders how precisely to change his fate…and work his revenge upon the universe at large.
90) The Kathetikon creates its realm, transforming the mountains due directly west of Shadowton into a grand library inspired by the Shade of Gnosis' memories. It creates a chamber specifically for the gods it knows about, and resolves to meet as many as possible in order to complete its grand work and continue along the Sacred Path set to it by Anath Homura.
