Looking in interest checks may be the best place to start. We have one for 1x1 Roleplays, Arena (which seems a touch dead), Tabletop, Nation, Free (one-liners and quick responses), Casual (two or more pargraphs from the looks of it), and Advanced (novellas). You can make your own or respond to one that catches your eye. I've noticed that 1x1 is tends to be the most popular with newcomers though. There is also a General interest check section though that seems to be dead from time to time.

If you want something that is easy to "jump into", then I'm currently in this Roleplay which is easy to slide in and out of. We'd love to have more people, but no pressure to join. Either way, I hope you're able to find something up to your taste while here.

Hey.

I'm pretty well-rounded when it comes to genres I write in. The most prominent ones to me are horror, mystery and action.

I'm also hungry for some T2 based combat.. It's been ages since. But regardless of my favourites, I do a little bit of everything!

Sounds like a good list of interests. You shouldn't have too difficult of a time finding a Roleplay with interests like that. Hopefully you're able to find what you're looking for and enjoy the time that you spend on here.

Has "Casual" become the new "Advanced"?

Free, Casual, and Advanced are not good ways to divide the RP line anyway

I actually prefer that the Guild divides Roleplays by these categories. On some of the other sites that I was on, illiterate was used to describe one-liners while semi-literate was used to describe two or more paragraphs and literate was only ever used to describe novellas. Like what? We're all literate. Roleplaying is writing. The system in place here might not be perfect, but at least it's not that.
