It's not really cold until it hits, like, 20 F. And even that's gentle. It hit -14 F once.

Bio

I'm a generally chill gremlin that can be kinda particular. I grew up with plenty of electronics and video games, mostly with games like Final Fantasy, Zelda, and StarCraft. I like to blend magic and technology in my writing, bringing fantasy into space and sci-fi.

Lay’arra found herself awed as she cast her gaze about the filling hangar. Mechs the likes of which she’d only seen in media were docked in the same hangar as hers! They were incredible to behold this close, and the pilots were all so varied, too. She looked over her shoulder at the Violet Dragoon. Her familiar eyes could see every aging flaw. It irritated her, that her proud Dragoon should look so shabby, next to all these new mechs. At the same time, however, she had to be impressed. Getting out from Grael had been good, she just hoped she and the Dragoon could measure up.

She was looking at all the machines in the hangar, wandering slowly and aimlessly toward the other gathering pilots. Before she could get anywhere or talk to anyone, however, she heard the announcement of a commanding officer. On Grael, things weren't so formal, but she'd been participating in more of a militia than a proper military. She understood things were going to be a little different during this particular service. She was definitely late with the salute as she had to imitate those around her, and one beat slow on the “at ease.”

“Yeah, I'm in a real military now, huh..?” The Anhur took a slow breath as she breathed deeply, her tail flicking softly behind her. Mnn. She wanted to let her tail free, but she'd been scolded for her loose fur getting in the machines, before. It flicked back and forth, agitated by the confines of her suit.
Lunge, miss, Miyuki leaves, Max and Su-.. zy. Hmm. I see.

Alright, then. Back to bed to await Xalt.
It just sounds to me like you need consistency. To me, it seems like Iris choose the timeline where she roars, possibly while transforming, cuing Max and Miyuki. Suzy moves, Iris lunges, missed due to Suzy pull, Iris gets steaked.

How's that?

Edit: aah, good find. Now we just gloss over the
We can say Miyuki left as soon as Iris started to transform? The feeling I get from her was, "oh, a fight. I'm outta here." So, first sign of a fight would be transforming.

Going off of how Bunny wrote, she went with the Team Max timeline.

Max is the realty rendering perspective.
Wibbly wobbly timey whimey?

Mmn, not helpful.
cute little bandaids with anime representations of her human and fox faces on them in a polka dot pattern

That's better.

Oops, and I was a syllable short on that word, there..
@Lemons I don't think getting along will be a problem. Not those two, at least. A certain someone with a -200 relationship rating toward Velvet might complicate matters, but they're all old enough here, they can be mature about it.

... Right?

That and the, uh. Literally toxic presence Yumeiko is to Velvet. But I'm sure they'll figure that part out somehow. Writing? Gasp, chatrooms
I'm glad you like her. :3 She's got a character arc or two that I have some ideas floating around for, but we'll see what shakes out and how.
And now I will be patient.

A soft smile graced her lips as two of her tails wrapped around her legs, keeping her warm against the frigid air from her ghostly neighbor. “Do-”

The scent of blood and Suzy’s turning attention drew the spirit fox’s attention toward.. Miyuki. What had happened? A sense of dread pulled at her heart as she watched the elder fox approach the front counter and demand action from the staff for - an injury!? She turned back to Suzy and found the ghost with a similar expression to her own. In a silent agreement, the two departed each other, each to take care of their own crisis.

She had left Miyuki alone, only for her admirer to get injured! The shrine priestess’s heart sank as she made hurried steps to the tall fox’s side, worry in her voice, “Yuki-chan, daijoubu?” Yumeiko had not the height Suzy was able to achieve with her minimal attachment to gravity, and had not seen the bite mark yet. She wrapped her arms tenderly around the Kiyuubi’s waist, regret in her voice, while her head buffled gently against the supple warmth. She left the skin with a kiss and stood on her toes to see, lifting her chin to raise her face higher, “misasete.”

She gasped, “kanda?!” Well, Miyuki had said an attempt had been made to eat her, which was not a welcome image. Yumeiko felt horrible, looking into Miyuki’s eyes apologetically, her ears back, tears welling in her eyes. She gave a soft sniffle before she gathered the first of her sacred tears onto her finger, makasete.” and reached up, carefully laying one on each puncture wound. The two tails around her legs unwound as the room began to warm back up, and a third rose to meet her fingertip at Miyuki’s neck. With a bit of her lavender-colored fox fire, the drops were transformed into cute little bandaids with anime representations of her human and fox faces on them in a polka dot pattern, the sanctity of which would cleanse any vestige of foreign curse left behind, and help the wounds close and heal without scarring.

“This happened because I thoughtlessly asked you to help her.” The tails that had been around her legs wrapped instead around Miyuki, loosely holding her in their fluff as the lady herself fidgeted with the hem of the Kyuubi’s kimono, apologetic and frustrated with herself as she thunked her forehead forward, into Miyuki's sternum. “You only did so because I asked you to..”
