Name: Gatu Hiruki
Gender:female
Age: 24
Appearance:
Can Manipulate Qi/Ki?: yes
Specialization: soul binding weapons
Abilities (if any): Hiruki is one of the few soulbinders in the world. She finds herself best with binding souls to weapons. She's by no means a master though, the souls she binds are not powerful ones, and they haven't preserved their conscious yet. Shes encountered an array of effects; bows are steadier or fire faster or stronger, knives and swords slice more cleanly. Mundane effects.
Personality: A soft spoken young women, though with fire in her eyes. The words she speaks are well thought through and precise, however seldom they may be. To assume that unintelligent was the root of her quiet would be foolish, it stems from quite the opposite. Her silent precautions are organized around her desire to limit the wrong doings of people, give them nothing to be spiteful about. Her actions on the other hand are not so well monitored. casual glances of distrust and hatred visit her face more than any sort of pleasant emotion. Every tap of her boot on packed dirt or a brush of her hand against the wall tells more about her than any words shes ever spoken.
History: As a young child Hiruki grew up in her parents weapon forge, a place so befitting of her that it was at the very least a true stroke of luck, at most a small glimpse of fate. With her mother she learned the ways of the house, a tradition that could not have bored her more. She spent her few spare hours with her father and brother, crafting arrows from birch branches and bows from spruce. Her brother soon left but watching the fires of the forge melt metals that her father would turn into the most beautiful knives and katanas was still the most fascinating thing to her. When she discovered ki, she felt gravitated towards it, like the idea was a second home. Through study and perseverance she honed her abilities until she'd finally accomplished soul binding her first thing (a canary soul to an arrow, the arrow hence forth never broke and is still in use). She used her talent to aid her family now with another brother Akio. They soon became wealthy, Hiruki's father still insisted on making things though he made no more arrows or common knives. All seemed well. Many suitors presented themselves to the Gatu families only daughter, seeking her as a wife. Hiruki's father only wanted the best for his daughter though, and turned many down finally settling on a well off young man, Irosha, from the rich mountains of Yunshou. With their families together Gatu would be in a very favorable position to make even more beautiful weapons. Hiruki once again found her self displeased by the turns of fate. Irosha was a selfish man who held no love for her, it was not in her position to argue.
When her brother came only days before their marriage had been sealed and begged her to leave with him she found herself tore between her responsibility and her happiness. Hinata said he was miserable, he wanted to see the world and live not just stay in luxury until he died. Seeing happiness as the greater reason she went along wwith him, abandoning her soon to be husband and has followed her brother ever since.
There were of corse run ins with Irosha, he was furious for his own loss and sent people after her. Gatu tried to find her as well but they had covered their tracks and traveled through the woods. Hinata had a tact for keeping them ever hidden until the tracking parties gave up and went home to hope she'd return one day.
Other: she has no regret for anything
