Are Medusa's body hairs actually just tiny snakes?

Bio

I'm a sucker for romance, sci fi, fantasy and just about any modern city with a twist like monster hunting or super powers. Been writing for years, I didn't learn how to read till I was 12 so the moment I got the hang of it, I could not stop. Filling journals with stories one after the other, my younger sister eventually got me into role playing and it created a monster. I will play with you all day if you reply, post for post and will give you as much detail as I can.

Only reason why I added Eden's raspy voice is cause there are books for fallout. (That are fucking amazing) where there is a group that obsesses over deathclaws and would try to call them. Problem is only voices that were really raspy would work cause they would sound like babies.
And so Eden picked up on the practice so she could hunt them down.
@Sohtem

She clicked her toung, bracing her rifle to get another shot only to get to a crouching position. No good, the leader was still moving, hunting her down now and she was trapped.
Looking through her scope to the horizon she seemed to cheer in her mind when she saw the slow gate of a death claw. His horns broken and spines snapped he seemed like an older creature that would not hunt unless absolutely necessary. The residence would run and hide at the sight of it.
But bandits...
"Oh your perfect."

Chase's eyes went wide when he saw Eden on one of the buildings, standing tall she was taking a stance that he only seen once, cupping her hands around her mouth and taking a deep breath. And ever since he never wanted to go hunting with her again.
"Reese, spread the word. That mad woman is gonna be getting an old death claw over here. Don't go letting anyone shoot it" He was already setting off another round as he mumbled a string of colourful swears. "Damn woman is insane. That thing that is outside, ain’t here yet. Knowing Eden she's saw it already and if we play our cards right it'll take out those bandits till they end up killing it themselves."

He almost missed when he heard that screeching sound that the older sister called a voice. It was not nearly as loud as the real thing, or as booming, no bass, no threat. But the raspy call held an imitation that would have attracted any of them.
A hacthling.
Eden was a huntress through and through. She knows the tricks and patterns, and if its old, or a male that thing will come here looking for an easy meal. "If I were you I'd spread the word to get everyone inside. Only way she would do that is if its old and only way to get an old one after you is if you piss it off."

She already could see the beast making his way over. Temptation calling it she made her presence known to the the other bandits. She already saw the leader making his way to her. Pulling out her blade she waited, all she had to do was end him and the other's would scatter like rats.
Twirling it with precision she got a glimpse of him. He was bigger than her that's for sure. She didn't even wait for him to get his barrings, she lunged. A quick move she would strike and move back, never staying in the same spot for more than a breath she aimed for any opening she could find. Swordsmanship passed through her father to her she put everything she had to end this as fast as she could.
@Gurren1

Okay quick run down of major thing that hapened.

Aurora and brick finished fuago
the bandit group that was with the guy that Brick killed came to devenport and are now after him.
The other group that was after reese finally shown up.
Aurora killed her first person
Chase is shot in the shoulder
Reese is hurt in his shoulder due to fighting and shooting a garnade in the sky
Devenport is definding itself and is in a shoot out.
Eden shown up and is trying to take everyone down to get her sister out of there.
Eden and Reese met and it was not a good first impression
Eden shot the leader of one of the bandit groups and now he is after her
and some kind of monster is smelling the bodies and might show up.

@Sohtem
Yes, that would be a lot of fun actually. Lets have Eden falter and need some help than!

there, changed her bio slightly so that she was a teacher and left only to recently show up again.
@Bryn
aright
@Sohtem

Just realized just how fun they could be interacting. Eden is a huntress who spends more time with radscorpians and deathclaws and has no charisma what so ever because of it. while Reese is a doctor who keeps those he meets alive and is probably good with keeping people calm.
@Sohtem

It was fast, she felt her arm go behind her and on instinct alone she swung her head up as hard as she could. A pair of goggles strapped to her skull for that vary reason, feeling a connection she brought her leg behind her, twisting it around the male's and gaining enough momentum to free herself from the retaliation.
Her blood boiling she put her grip to her blade, using it as a set of knuckles she slammed it down, aiming for his face before moving away. It was a waste of blood to use the actual blade on him. He didn't shoot, and thats what kept her from trying to kill him. About to walk away though she shot her head up when she heard a roar.

The smell of bodies and gun fire was attracting something thinking it could gain an easy meal. A grin crossing her lips she stood up, listening again. A sigh escaping her she slung her blade over her shoulder. "Ground's not safe, you should run." Yet the information was not given from kindness, as she spoke she kept a glare one would give to the bane of their vary being.

Quickly she began to scale the wall, the splintering wood had some holes for foot holds that allowed her to reach the roof. The sight before her looking to be a blood bath she found her own running cold when she realized just how close the weapon's shop they were. "Aurora..."
She had to work and she had to work fast, taking cover she laid on her belly, bringing the scope to her gaze she put her sights on the leader's shoulder, holding her breath she calculated the distance.
Bang!
@Sohtem@Crossfire

Eden had watched the entire thing with a calculated gaze. Her hand gripped the hilt of her blade with calming strength. "One, two, six, eight" every time she counted the chances there seemed to have been more than the last. "Two groups...two targets..." A click of her toung she rummaged through her bag, grabbing a wrap and covering her hand before gripping the blade again. She even nicks herself with the thing and she would end in a painfully long death.

Eyes set on the leader she cursed at the sight of a new weapon. The thing was big, covering most of him and his allies but the more she studied the more she began to work everything out. She many not know how to make them, but the Reen sisters knew their way around weapons one way or another, Eden could already see soft spots, joints in the armour around his arm.
Looking for cover spots that would lead her to the leader she was about to take off again only to hear the footsteps of another. With not a breath of hesitation she swung, her aim a bit over baring as it went right over his head. She was not trusting, and she was not having it. Bracing her arm she slammed it to pin his throat to the wall, turning her hand so that the dull edge was giving a deadly promise as she looked him up and down.

While Aurora was a kind little thing with freckles and pale skin, Eden seemed to be a shadow of the younger woman. Tanned skin that was decorated with scars, her mane starting to turn to dreads and her form made of muscle that looked to have tasted all that was the wasteland. The only thing that stayed the same was their eyes, while one was kind the other seemed to pierce, yet they were still that golden gaze.
Without a word she tried to get him to drop his weapon, a growl escaping her throat. He didn't seem to be one of the bandits, but she had not survived this long by being trusting. "You, never saw me"
Her voice was hoarse from ill use, something that seemed to be that of the gravel that she walked upon.

Name: Namid Agha
Age: 24
Rank: Teacher
Subject: unknown, (shes only started a student before leaving)

Appearance:

Tamer Appearance:

Personality:
Namid is a calmer mind than most. When working with her beast she seems to be connected to him and him alone. A strong presence that seems to demand respect she is a bit intimidating at first. Especially if you are about to go against her in the show arena due to her competitive nature.
Though when around those who call her friend she seems to be somewhat easy going, even one to make jokes. Shes passionate in everything she dose, and so once something is found she will become obsessed with it if it captures her interest.
Never ask her what happened in that time her and her beast were gone.

Beast Name: Entai/Despair (It has different names depending on the culture)
Beast Species: Mount

Beast Appearance:

Compared to a human they would be lucky to be able to reach his chest, massive thing he is.

Mundane Beast Name: Dolsha
Registered name: Beautifully blind. (Equines are required to be registered under a title instead of a name)
Mundane Beast Species: friesian stallion

Mundane Beast Appearance:

History:
Namid came from a poor family, living penny to penny she did not get a whole lot of support for her hobbies. Everything she wanted, she had to become creative in gaining. So at a young age when she gained an interest in horses, Namid decided it was time to volunteer at a stable in exchange for riding lessons.
Learning fast Namid grew to love the creatures. Growing out of the easy going nature of old schooling horses she was given ill tempered equines to start training.
Strangely enough she never asked for payment from the owners yet one who came to her with a ill tempered mare insisted that she take a old worn in leather book with nothing but a burned in sigil on the cover. Not wanting to be rude Namid took the book, finding it was a strange read, only bits and pieces she could understand since only a few lines were of english but seeing the images she deducted that it had something to do with the afterlife or fantasy, cults anything that was not a good topic for normal conversation.
"His hooves of thunder and fear"
"Would cause those to run whenever he was seen to be near"
"Carrying another on his back"
"Souls would follow him like a pack"
"Eyes of silver, never dying"
"Not a word spoken, yet he could see if you're lying"
"Fangs bared and flames alight"
"He will bring forth your end"
"At the vary first sight."

And that is when Dolsha came along.

He was a stunning creature. A beast like no other, only a year old and yet he towered over most. With a coat of ebony and a gaze like nothing she had ever seen she made it a life long goal to be able to find a mutual stand with the stallion. Not allowing a single person near him though caused the task to become difficult. She could not even find a single horse that would stand near him without going mad with fright by his presence.
That was until her grandfather decided to give her tips, pointing out when it was good to approach Dolsha and when not to. In doing so she began to find ways to make a bond. Never step down, always demand respect and be seen as worthy in the eyes of the stallion.
The sight attracting the attention of her teacher he began to really show her what she was dealing with. A beast that towered over any equine she had ever seen. With fires licking the skies and a gaze of hell itself. Reading up on him she found his tale in stores, the mount of Death himself, the carrier of the future ruler of the world, the beast who's hooves could break open the land and send those who have disobeyed to the under world.
Entai,Despair,Binky, the names go on but the tale was the same. He was said to be the dealer of the dead.

Namid and Dolsha ended up creating a bond like no other. Her teacher said that he could not believe how careful Dolsha was with her. His cold gaze turning to that of trust for only her. And so she with his permission she began to take the stallion to competitions. His grace and power like no other they destroyed the grand prix and covent garden shows, taking to world championships and pulling Namid's family out of poverty. With Dolsha at her side the two made a name for themselves and in doing so they separated from Namid's teacher.
A graduated student who could easily pass her knowledge down to another with the strong connection she has to her beast. Even taking on a student once only to leave after only a year of training the young tamer. Instead she found herself staying away from the world of beasts and tamers altogether. A coldness now edges her voice whenever someone asks why. Yet she can't stay hidden, even after she vanished for a few years she returned with Dolsha, her eyes are now identical to her Stallion and seem to pierce the vary soul.

Abilities:
Like her tamer’s for Dolsha before her she has been given the powers of illusion. Only Dolsha himself can send souls to the underworld or punish them but the rider is able to show someone his or her own death. Easiest way to spot this is when the rider's eyes will change from just being the colour linked to Dolsha, to begin to glow and loose their pupils as well in order to pierce one's vary soul.

When in battle though, Namid has gained the weapon passed down from tamer to tamer that has been seen through almost every story when concerning the mount of the underworld. In the english term is the scythe or the harvester of souls, a strange name considering that its the beast who dose the actual harvesting.

A pair of chain scythes they are usually connected with blue flames to become an extended weapon. When riding they connect at the centrer to be the full lengthen blade.
@Sohtem@Crossfire

"One..two, four..."
The whisper words of a woman stood a bit away from the chaos before her. A golden gaze going straight through the scope of her rifle , breathing at ease but mind in utter turmoil at the though the trail to her family is growing smaller and smaller. "She's in there, she has to be."

And that means that through the shots and screams of raiders, somewhere her sister, her sister who can't run away on her own in trapped. Licking her chapped lips she tightened the leather band around her mane tighter, slinging the weapon over her back her hand gripped the hilt of her blade before she began to move.
The sounds of gun fire were routine for her. Crouching low she began top pick out who was friend and foe. A woman on the ground only to be saved by another, two males trying to come up with a solution to their problems. Yet even than she left them, moving like a predator stalking it's prey she left them alone.
A raider rounded the corner, a laser pistol in hand looking to have been looted from something. She was quick, turning on the ball of her foot she pivoted around him, the same motion causing her sword hand to rise and almost comeplatly remove his head. She could have killed him from a slice that would take a lot less effort.
But she was angry.

Building by building she moved till she caught sight of a familiar face. Her gate extending she ran to Chase yet she did not even ask if he was okay as he kept the other's in his sights, letting off a round to save another. "Where is Aurora." Watching his face pale slightly she clicked her toung waiting for a response. "In the back, the owner gave her some weapons and hid her so be careful."

Without a word she was moving through the shop, a back door showing a dim light causing her pace to quicken. "Aurora, its me Eden, don't shot okay?"
She was already opening the door, the sound of a click for loading entering her ears only to see the red head in the back. Eyes wide and hands at ready she lowered the weapon, the body of a raider at the other side of the room. Eden did not even spare a glance at him she bounded to her sister, engulfing the girl in a hug and breathing in. "I thought I lost you."
"I'm fine sis, really, Brick and everyone were great at helping me out, and we managed to get fuago up and running. We just got to clean out the raiders."

"We're going home."
Disbelief on her sisters face Eden refused to budge. "We're going home, I can carry you back undercover, no one has to know." Yet all Aurora done was shake her head.
"I'm not leaving, besides you mess up and we both die. And I'm not leaving Brick without paying and I'm not leaving Chase to get shot."

"He's already shot."
"That makes it worse!"

A groan escaping the older woman she almost seemed to glare at Aurora. "Your ridiculous, you sneak out, make me think that someone took you. I track you all the way out here and this entire time your just enjoying yourself without even thinking of what might happen. What if something happened to Chase? You would be stuck, with no way to get home and eventually killed or sold."
She didn't wait for a response, if her sister won't leave till everything is done than she'll just take care of it and forget it ever happened.

Chase looked over his shoulder only to find the woman leave. "What are you doing?" Without saying a word she took out her blade, declining down the steps and into the fire zone. "Are you fucking kidding me Eden! These guys aren’t no death claws or whatever crap you killed with that thing!"
She just kept moving, and within moments she rounded a corner and vanished. Stealth was her ally, and it always will be. Under the cover of chaos she took cover, seeing the others that were making a plan she rolled her eyes, flicking her blade to find that it was still full of irradiated blood.
