Are Medusa's body hairs actually just tiny snakes?

Bio

I'm a sucker for romance, sci fi, fantasy and just about any modern city with a twist like monster hunting or super powers. Been writing for years, I didn't learn how to read till I was 12 so the moment I got the hang of it, I could not stop. Filling journals with stories one after the other, my younger sister eventually got me into role playing and it created a monster. I will play with you all day if you reply, post for post and will give you as much detail as I can.

Aurora waisted no time in taking a fighting stance when she heard Graffiti ask Wraith to attack her. Her cane of ebony gripped in her right hand, her book in her left. She's trained for battle, no use as a vigilant if she couldn't defend herself. Her wraith looming behind her, a steady breath escaping her lungs. The woman began to smile when she heard Wraith's reaction to the command.
"As much as I hate that he got away, I'm not gonna fight you, Raven."

Standing neutral once more, she simply nodded her head. "Tis not a night for blood to spill upon the city streets, nor will it be the next." About to follow after Omega, the Grim was leading him in the right direction but another hand could not help. Taking her first step down the hall she froze. A small gust of wind escaping through the doors, her Wraith calling her.

Raven's Wraith was looming over the crumpled form of Ecto. Looking at him with interest as she tilted her head. The male was injured, bleeding to the steps below. And so, with a haunting melody, she screeched a long, lone note. It did not take even three breaths before Raven herself left the building. Worry hidden under the gaping holes of her mask. "Ecto..."

She could smell something like iron. Not quite the scant of blood, but the larboard breath and the eerie call from her summon told her enough. Moving through to the Wraith she knelt down, tapping the ground with her hand only to feel something strange, thick liquid. "Hold on, you'll survive."
This was why she stayed away from teaming up. They would be harmed, and she would be left with trying to fix them. Taking off her coat to reveal unnaturally pale arms, skin almost that of a doll's she set it near by. "Your going to have to trust me, I can't help you unless your shifted back to normal."

"Disperse my friend" on command the wraith vanished, her hand running over a page as she uttered the correct words. "May his wings of everlasting fire guide you well, only to help those who fell." The sound of wing beats greeting her ears, the form of a phoenix with wispy black flames took form behind her. Please have this work, she could already feel the strain of keeping such a weak connection. Still, she greeted the bird with a nod, a smile on her features. "Hello my friend, I need your help for another."

Guess I should ask if its okay to at least stop Ecto's bleeding to death problem XD

Oh, forgot to mention this cause of work. But I'll be gone this weekend, Sakura con is Friday. I'll try to post at night, but it will be short and on my phone. Sorry, but can't back out of a hired gig.
@CloudyBlueDay

Aurora has a problem with her summons, if the story dose not have a strong affect she can't have the creature. That means over time she could loose a summon if she's no longer attached to the story it came from.

I'll have Fuax be the summon that Aurora has a weak connection with. Meaning that it sometimes won't work at all. And I'll give you a heads up in a Pm if I think its a good time to use him. That work for you?
So, i want your guys opinion. Aurora has 4 summons, the wraith, the grim, the dullahan and the Phoenix. First four she used, first four im sticking with right now.
The Phoenix is Dumbledore's fuax, its why hes strong instead of having fire abilities. But the actual fuax has healing tears as well. Think its too much if i give Aurora's fuax the same abilty? If not than she has a way to at least, kind of, heal ecto. Not fully but keep him from bleeding to death.
I just cant figure out if thats stepping into op leavles or not. Her wraith is combat, the grim is tracking, and both dullahan and fuax are transportation right now.
It was chaos, a simple moment, Raven had only been speaking to Walker for a moment when Wraith went crazy. "Look out!" Yet it was too late, Wraith went after the male, shattering their chance at having a conversation. As far as he was concerned, they were trying to kill him. She could hear Omega readying for a attack, only for Ditch to leap to action instead.

It was like a gang fight, chaos, sheer chaos, and her senses were driven overtime. What had Wraith been thinking? The girl was unnerving, shes the kind of thing that when killed, would be one to turn into a beast. Maybe a nightmeer, or withward? She honestly did not know, but that woman would not be having a happy end.
"let him go! We warned him, it's done! We need to help him get away from the murderers!" No kidding, Raven was already on it, it was going to suck, but what else was there to do?
"Estimated time of death, October 28th, 2011. May no blood be spilled." Once again the wraith shown her face. Least Raven had a moment to breath, but she might be in some rough shape if she was going to keep both her and the Grim.

Following after the creature, Raven began to collect information on her surroundings. Pillars, empty halls, high ceilings. It was the ideal place, not much to hide behind. The room echoed as well, easy to find someone moving. A point proven when she heard Omega and Rose. The Grim running ahead she followed close behind. Something happened, she heard a force of some kind. The air was heavy, as though someone had put weights in it.
What did her team mates do?
"He's no use in the afterlife. Any ideas to turn Wraith off his path?" They needed to deal with her first, talk to Walker away from the mad woman. "I can ask my summons to turn on her, but I'll have to stay close, it would buy time at most." Raven had no problems staying behind and taking a few hits from Wraith if it meant getting Walker away. But could she really trust them to get the guy out?

"We should split, some of us go after Ditch, the others slow down Wraith to keep her from doing something more drastic than she already did. I heard that hit, she was barley holding back, fairly sure the only thing that kept him alive was the fact Ecto had possessed him." Ecto may have acted without thinking, but that move may have saved Walker's life. What would Wraith have done if the guy was not under the protection of a team-mate?

The sound of clicking claws echoed through the halls captured her attention. Her Grim began to move again, the beast going further and further down the hall. "He's on their trail, someone should go after him."
Ditch: Slightly negative
Aurora is impressed of her skills, the ability to find out who Raven tale was, even with no documentation that the rider and the vigilant were connected though, has caused her to be weary. She respects the woman, Ditch knows what shes doing and has the idea for leadership, something that Aurora admires for she could not do so herself.
Though diving so far into her personal life when she had told no one about her abilities even, has caused Aurora to be a bit on edge and even annoyed with her.

Levi 'Dagger eyes' Lynn: Slightly Negative
Aurora is weary of him, the way his eyes are in a constant glare, has caused her to give him the name dagger eyes. If a blind person can feel you glaring, than its bad. She knows he is one to be set off easily, and thus is keeping a mutual ground not stepping her boundaries but is keeping a ear on him.
Though she dose respect him for his abilities. They are useful, Aurora can feel something off about him. He's hiding something, he has gone through much pain, and thus has kept her from disliking him completely.

Rose: Indifferent
The woman is kind, but she dose not know enough about her yet. Rose has yet to do something to cause any dislike, but at the same time Aurora can not fully get her idea's down of what to feel about Rose. Shes kind so far, one that also has abilities that can prove useful.

Aurora is even impressed with how well she held up to being insulted. When Graffiti challenged her, it was ditch and herself who snapped, not Rose, the memory proves to be quite interesting to her. Least someone has a calm mind on their shoulders.

Omega: Positive
Okay now that she knows who Omega actually is, her opinion changed. Before it was indifferent, she hardly knew him aside that he tried not to start conflict.
Not she understands that he actually is a semi good person, than again you have to be, to be a vigilant in a way. The fact that they share a love for music has allowed her to think higher of him, than she would had she not know (Way to get Aurora to like you, like music).

Still, as a actual person she dose not know much, so far they are just friendly acquaintances outside of their masks, and indifferent allies within.
But as it stands, she might entertain the idea of learning more about him to work better with at least one team mate.

Turn Back: Indifferent
He seems kinds, but that is about it. She couldn't help but notice he had the stance and voice of one who had been through hard times though. She might be interested in learning more, but not now.

Wraith: Negative
One of the only vigilantes she heard about before Ditch contacted her. She already had a image of the woman in her head before hearing her voice.
Taking another's life when there are other options is unforgivable in her mind, end of story. She knows Wraith can easily avoid blood shed, but she uses others as though they were play things and that is something she can not stand for.

Reaper: Slightly Positive
She can tell she has a good heart, helping her figure out what Umbra's mark was had made Aurora realize that. She seems to have a interesting personality that she can only handle in small doses though.

Ecto: Indifferent
He's easy going and friendly yes. But so far the only interaction that she can go on is the fact that she can't help but think she heard him from somewhere.
He tends to act before thinking, a dangerous mind set, but as far as Aurora can see, he means no harm.

Tank: Mostly Indifferent
To be honest, shes intimidated by Tank, sure his voice is nice, holds no malice. But she can feel that he's far larger than her. One that could snap her in half without a second thought. Those who have overwhelming brute strength have always gotten that impression from the albino.
She wont lie, he gave her some amusement from the stage incident though. He seems like a good sport when it comes to interesting situations.

Graffiti: Slightly Negative
The woman speaks her mind without holding back. Something that could get you in trouble, at first she was fine around Graffite. But as more time passed, Aurora began to realize that she has some extremely strict rules that have narrowed her view. She has a feeling this will be a problem later.

Hearing her comment of Rose did not help. What is she going to think if she finds out Aurora is blind? She has a feeling the woman will find she is ill equipped to be working as well, one of the easiest ways to anger her.
@Sol Grim

James kept watch, nodding his head when Ethan asked to have a moment, lump in his throat that he tried to keep down. The dead kept shuffling in waves, a sicking thought entering his mind, they could have been there, they could have been torn apart. The house they were in was already swallowed by the things.
He could hear the cracking voices and breaking souls behind him. Johnny explaining how he should never try that with him, the kid just shook his head. "I really don't give a fuck, if there's a chance you can make it out and I have an idea, than I'm taking it. My mom left me to save her own ass, I'm not going to do that."

Hearing the jeep he turned back, watching it come closer to view. "Ethan, come on we have to go." His own voice betraying him he hesitated for only a moment, looking back at the woman that Ethan called Sarah. "I'm sorry..." He was sorry he couldn't help, he was sorry that he was always one step behind. Reena trusted him to be able to help her and he failed.
He was sorry.
A few tears falling from his face, he jumped, her face forever haunting him.

"Been hunting my whole life, ain’t much different." The red head just leaped in, crossbow aimed at the ready, she been keeping her quiver full by pulling the bolts from their bodies, but how long was that going to last with hordes like these? Shes gonna have to start making her own again. "Not that far, red building just down the street, we'll probably find a car when we're out, can stock up from there."

Keeping a stance in the jeep, ready to launch herself out on a moment's notice, Reena looked up to see James and Johnny, the pair jumping off the platform followed by Ethan. "You guys okay?" Looking up, waiting for the woman to follow, she found her heart sink a bit. Listening to what seemed to be the end of her life, looking to Dallen she shook her head, it was time to go. And not say a word.

The ride was quiet, at first it was chaos as they escaped the horde but now, no one spoke a word. James kept his head down, sitting next to Ethan and unable to look the man in the eye. It was tearing him apart, and it worried her, no, it scared her. The kid was going to have to change and change painfully fast is he was going to survive out here.
"Over there"
Just as she said, a car sat abandoned on the road. Jumping out she held her crossbow, her steps that of a hunter, trying to listen for any signs of movement. A breath escaping her after a few moments she looked inside, abandoned, a child's car seat in the back. A sight that now, made her a little sick.
Finding a gas tank in the back she filled it from the car, transferring it to the Jeep. "That horde is going to be moving downhill, did you notice? Gravity just pushes them around when wind shown up. Guess we can go up, lay low for a few days, than come back to the barn and restock. Figure out a plan and work from there. I have a back up generator there, might have one last hot shower."

The road was empty, the only sound was given from a few cows in the distance that broke out from their fields, poor souls would be food soon. Head turning up from the sounds of birds she gave another sigh of relief, birds meant safety. Least for now. Turning back to look at the group, Reena noticed James rummaging through the saddle bag, producing a bottle of water and offering to Ethan as a piece offering, still unable to really say much. "Before we really start working together, Dallen, that your name right? How you get so good at all this? Ex military or something? Johnny can tell you, I like knowing who has my back and you seem to know what your doing."
"Please Graffiti, calm down. No need to use rage, we came here to converse, nothing more." Honestly Raven was not really pleased with how the woman snapped at Wall Walker, the man had done nothing wrong, well to them at least. Karma will get him one day for his stealing, but they did not come here to punish him. "Collect your thoughts."
Bowing her head a bit, Raven kept a hand on her Grim. The beast did not growl, his fur like wire under her fingers lie flat. What was she to do?
A small laugh escaping her from Omega's comment, Raven sighed. "She would give no harm unless I wish it so. She was simply looking to see if you fared well, forgive the fight, she dose not mean it." Yet as she listened to the voice behind her, Raven froze, her hand caught in her Grim's fur.
The voice...
No, it couldn't be, they were together just days ago. The faint smell of old sheet music, kind words offering help. She could feel her eyes widen at the thought, thats what they do, Vigilantes offer help. And that voice rang clear as bells, she never forgot a voice and she was not supposed to start.
It was Manny!
Shaking her head, Raven took a deep breath. One task at a time, put the information back for later. Instead she focused on Wall Walker, trying to listen to his breathing, the rustle of his cloths and edge in his voice. The air was crisp, cooling now, the stillness being filled with tense uneasiness from her team mates.
How were they to work together with such clashing ideals? It was like riding into the arena with a companion you met a moment ago. No drive, no connection, no cooperation because they simply did not know each other. This was not going to work, not unless they had some common ground.
As if to answer her question, Ecto decided to attack the male that held no threat. Biting her lip Raven found she had no words. Instead she knelt down, her book still in hand. "we are not here to fight." Her voice was calming, even, one that did not hold lies, one that had not caused another true harm.
@Ebonsquire
Glad you like it man, we been working hard in making this story as awesome as can be so it warms my thoughts knowing someone enjoys it.
At the sight of Walker on the ground the wraith stopped, floating about the space as she turned her head, making sure to keep her target in her sights yet did not make a single move to cause harm. The words ringing true, may no blood be spilled. Instead the creature allowed another shriek, the sound long and piercing.
Not a moment later, Raven rounded the corner to the scene. Her breath quiet yet her side rising and falling faster than most. "Thank you my friend, may we meet again." With one more rumbled sound the wraith vanished, Raven tapping her cane on the ground she made her way to the others. Her book opening once more she quietly called the Grim, yet just like the wraith it did not advance.

"You seem to be ill tempered. We simply speak the truth, we wish to talk, nothing more nothing less." A hand running through the wiry fur of the beast at her side she nodded her head. "Forgive me if my companion gave the wrong impression, its just that she is the easiest way for me to find someone from afar."
Her voice even, Raven began to still, she could hear the others not too far behind. It was only a matter of time till they at the vary least try and get another on their side. The air growing colder, Raven tilted her head up, the Grim standing at her back, acting as a shield to the woman.

"How do you fair? I was told you were injured, is that true?" She did not turn around when she heard the heavier steps of Omega. Voice holding a slight edge of curiosity as the Grim looked over to them.
The calls her wraith gave, told her all she needed during the chase, when the creature stopped to look at Omega, it was simply bringing the news to Raven's attention for later use.
