Reviewing an incomplete character sheet is never a positive move from a GM's perspective. It is easier to look at the application as a whole and advise the player on what corrections need to be made, rather than to hand hold them through the process with a preconceived idea that might influence the final result.

The Mech:

Breathing Room is a small support mecha. Orginally designed to assist non-mecha infantry and artillary, it continues to be a cost effective support unit even as the scale of war continues to rise, largely due to its modular design. The entire design is gorilla-esque, which allows a skilled pilot to transition effortously between bipedal and quadrapedal movement. In combination with its impressive physical strength to weight ratio, it has almost unrivaled speed in urban and ex-urban terrain. The powerful but delicate manipulators allow for a range of items to be picked up from human beings to heavier stray mech parts. The cockpit is equiped not only for a pilot, but a field doctor and doubles as a cramped, but functioning emergency theatre when the pilot isn't jacked in. Breathing Room Sports the company colours except on the rear, where high contrast white and red ultrabright LEDs shine a large cross to presumably friendly units.

Equipment:

Powerful Front Arms: Breathing Room's large, powerful front arms aren't just for lifting debris and function as powerful tools for dismembering other mechs in CQC. Typically, once a mech of this variety gets a hold of you, theres little chance of escape without a brawl. Breathing Room carries no weaponry beyond the strengh of its gorilla grip, which is more than capable of pulling damaged mechs apart. As a result, Breathing Room carries no ammunition and no weapon coolant, leaving additional carrying capacity.

Forcefield Generation: Breathing Room's main purpose is to deflect incoming fire, mainly rockets and missiles but also low calibre rounds and light melee weapons. Constructive vibrational interference creates area of invisible barriers where the air itself provides enough force to deflect or repel attacks. In conjunction, electromagnets can be switched on in an attempt to draw more of the fire to the shielded spots and away from the areas of deconstructive vibrational interference, but only when they won't interfere with other friendly units. The more acute the angle of protection, the more effective it is as deflecting and repelling, meaning even if bubbling the entire craft were possible it would be an awful strategy. Hull damage sensors can automatically assign areas of shielding however this is less effective than pro-active placement.

The forcefield can be used offensively, however it is poorly suited. A sharp pulse of the forcefield could knock a mech back a step, but with no damage to their craft where the arms could land a damaging blow as well. Small objects could be propelled with it, but wouldn't even scratch the paintwork.

The craft is armoured with a cost and weight effective Alluminium, Titanium and Americium Alloy, which combined with the powered shielding

Power Generators are high efficiency, low power and Plasma Tanks are designed with prolonged combat in mind, providing the good balance of power required to run the craft. Cells can be incinerated for back up power for a few hours, but only to run the cabin lighting and the LEDs outside.

Thrusterless, most are too power hungry to run with the Forcefield.

@ColouredCyan You go from an alien plant creature from three years ago to a member of STRIKE with no notes in between of how you go from point A to point C. If she's been completely humanized it should be noted somewhere, which is why I was under the impression she crashed more recently. The end of her bio was still just the beginning of her story and you just need to elaborate on what she's been doing since she's been here. If you want her working for STRIKE, then put something in the CS about it! If she's an alien with a smart phone, who understands our language and tech, etc. there should be some explanation as to how that happened. Maybe she bonded with a scientist who's her new BFF, IDK. There's three years of her life that needs explained though.

@Stern Algorithm wanted to be tied to a government agency and I mentioned maybe using STRIKE in the iCheck. She went back and worked STRIKE into her CS and it's clear that was where she was going. I don't mind if your character is also a member of STRIKE, just let me know ahead of time that's your plan. And work it into your CS somewhere.

@ColouredCyan I was sort of a bit confused with your interest as you state at the start of your post that it is morning, even though the fight is taking place at 10:50PM. You're welcome to join in on the fight, or even show up at the end of it if we do finish it tonight, which I doubt we will as Jotunn has just gone off, but this was all really just meant to be a short fight so that Roland could meet new character and kick off his monarchy assassination plotline to be honest.

Nobody was trying to persuade you into changing your character. The eyewitness reports are clearly just rumors seeing as how nearly every person described the creature in a different way. Nowhere in your CS was there a mention of STRIKE, just 'military had been dispatched' and nowhere did it say you had joined any such group. Add a part in your CS bio about what she's been doing since coming to Earth, because it still caught me off guard and needs to be explained in the Bio or the Notes sections. I didn't note the 3 year timeline since you arrived, but my CS mentioned STRIKE only having their New Athens HQ for 2 years. It's also not known by most of the STRIKE agents that there's a giant working for them or not. In the Storylines section of my CS "Rumors of a giant man in the ranks are finally put to rest when Gigas is tasked with being among the superhumans to take down Liberty Son / Darkstar."

Making your character a card carrying member of STRIKE was changing your character from what it was presented as in the CS, the news report in my last post was just a vague news report. You can call the creature Treefoot or whatever and go that route with your character going after it, but anything involving STRIKE needs to be run by me. To be clear, nobody's lecturing you about using my character or trying to make you change your character. Showing up in the scene I'd set up as a member of STRIKE and talking about getting a vehicle for Gigas was you changing your character as well as the scene and was completely out of left field without a mention anywhere. If you only run it by one person in the RP, it needs to be the GM. You even gave your character a smart phone! An alien having joined a government organization and possessing intelligence enough to work a smart phone are important details and should be noted somewhere!

I don't really understand, hasn't STRIKE been establish so that we join it? Your doing some pretty excessive gatekeeping. I'm sorry I missed tiny details about STRIKE that aren't in the first OOC post where you usually find details about the setting.
She doesn't have to have been working for Strike in New Athens, didn't even mention where she landed.
Imbricata doesn't know Marlowe has any powers, wasn't even aware I'd mention she did.
When I worked at Gillette as a scientist I had access to specific laboratories where I was supposed to be working, but not ones I hadn't any reason to be in. I couldn't access the soap/blade prototyping factory or the packaging departments despite being in the same building because it would be dangerous. Its been exactly the same at the other companies I've worked out as a scientist so I'm not sure why you keep stressing card carrying, most corporations have ID cards for protecting company secrets and keeping employees safely out of area's they shouldn't be. But I mean fuck me for trying to insert some of my personal experience as a scientist in the RP.

I think you misunderstand I mean, collab posts are when more than one person write a single post that covers a lot of ground. The way I see it is exactly the same as back to back posting among a small group, and when I have seen it done it leaves people behind, and then they drop out. Obviously if we aren't writing posts that interact with others then you might as well be writing a story yourself

Playing post by post and allowing other people to join in and out of situations as they choose is the how I think it should be played. And I massively disagree with language like "shoehorn", nobody could join in with you guys right now of they wanted to? Number of stories completed isn't the goal in my opinion, all of us writing something together is the objective.

..when I mentioned kinda leaving you an opening, I'd meant the plant person in the woods people claimed seeing on the news was likely you. I was under the impression Venus fell to Earth rather recently. Making the creature on the news a separate character is fine in a city of 15,000 superhumans, but I was gonna continue building up STRIKE as well as their superteam that'll be tasked with taking down Liberty Son/Darkstar. Now it's like your alien has higher clearance than my boy who's been with STRIKE for a little while now.

I wrote a bio in which I mentioned that she arrived 3 years ago and she initially looked monstrous and inhuman, what you described was not my character. If you wanted to write in my character like that you should have read my CS more carefully.

Also, see the bottom of the fourth paragraph.

If they were doing necessary training comms would be off and you still have to wait, but it was still faster than using the electronic systems.

If you aren't interested in fighting the Sea Monster with Roland, you didn't hear what Imbricata ordered (she's an ass and does so without authority) into the comms. Both you and Stern have been notified that my character exists and that she's going to the beach and both methods give you and Stern the choice whether to respond at all and if you choose to, you still have room to respond how you see fit. I haven't moved your character, or my character, from the War-Room area.

Its pretty odd to be lectured about doing things with your character in the same post you're trying to persuade me to change my character, especially when I went to good lengths to leave my post open.
