Bo's healthy tan complexion is a result of enjoying the outdoors a little more than most. She has a kind, friendly look in green, bespectacled eyes. At 5'2", Bo's a bit of a shorty. Typically she's adorned in copious amounts of finest imported white silk, gold and gemstones. Her long, wavy, dark red hair is filled with tiny glistening stars, which nestle sweetly around her slender naked shoulders. The robe's large collar draws attention to the large Church crest, an unimaginatively rectangular lantern housing a roaring flame, thats branded front and centre across the chest. The detached sleeves flare and engorge wildly at the cuffs to match the oversized collar and are bolted closed by gaudy, highly decorative cufflinks and the absurd robe has a mermaid hemline to match.
While Bo has no capacity for conjuring and spellcraft, through her diligence in her servitude and her love for her fellow men, she has gained special favour with Shezmu, the God of the Lighthouse. Using prayer, hymns and reciting scripture to focus her faith, Bo can ask small miracles of Shezmu, typically of the cleansing, movement and fire variety. Despite never having achieved anything much more impressive than removing curses and lightening burdens, Bo is convinced that all things are possible through Shezmu.
Bo has always been a talented singer and has been a part of the church choir for as long as she can remember. You'd be forgiven for not thinking she didn't until you heard it, due to her common as muck accent.
Bo's capacity for planning ahead and excuting said plans is, well, godly. Bo's cautious optimism is perfect for predicting problems, exposing flaws and also fixing them. God help those she encounters when she doesn't have a plan...
Absolver's Garb - Robe
This highly decorative robe offers no special protections or bonuses to attributes, its only purpose is to advertise the wealth of the Church.
Dawn - Cleric Foci
An ornate hand lantern housing a flame lit with a spark from the Great Blaze. While the hand lantern is unremarkable and in serious need of repair, the fire within burns as passionately as when it was first lit. Parts of the lantern that shouldn't be moving are dangerously loose and parts that should were worryingly stiff. The glass protecting the flame from the elements had lost its crystal clear finish giving the lantern a new foggy warm glow, that Bo honestly admits is preferable.
The Light - Spellbook
A Holy Tome that catalogs the history of the world, the true nature of the Light, the character of the Gods and their Prophets and the seperation of the Church of Divine Fire from the Othodoxy. The book is bound in now cracked leather and some of its corners protected with patterned gold. Attached to the spine is long chain, that has long since lost its lustre, so it can be worn over the shoulder so that the book rests on the hip. The pages are in far worse condition than she remembered leaving it, many of them fragile but still fulfils its function as a remind of the Sacred Stories and Songs.
Prayer Guidance
This much newer book contains not just moral guidance, creed, rituals and hymns but detailed information on how members of the church should perform their tasks, speak to the citizenry, speak to their superiors, common apologetics for non-believers and rival churches and ultimately how to assist in the continued success of the Church of Divine Fire. Bo's particular Prayer Guidance book is tailored to her role as an Absolver which is more clerical in both meanings of the word than you'd might expect. Also possesses a chain so it can be worn and carried everywhere. Its survived better than "The Light" and is actually still legible.
Bo's Books
A collection of half filled, professionally bound pages for work, thoughts and ideas scorched immaculately into its pages. These personal logs are attached Prayer Guidance with some unremarkable cord.
As an absolver, Bo got to see the aftermath of some of the less than savoury aspects of the Churches activity. In the back of her mind, doubts about her churches intentions built and this brewing animosity towards the upper echelons encouraged her to seek out the true history of the Church and the pure "Old Ways" that would be required to put the Church back on Shezmu's intended path.
Compassionate, outgoing and faithful to a fault, Bo was the perfect choice for the role of Absolver.
Backstory
Port Durmaho is a thriving port city, sprawling magnificently across the coast. Huge, highly decorated, Gothic architecture dominates the skyline, but none so much as The Counting House, The Cathedral of the Divine Fire and The Lighthouse.
The Great Blaze sits a top Port Durnmaho, and is tended to by the Church of Divine Fire. Before The Providence, Durnmaho was a tiny village situated in a desperately foggy coastal inlet. The story goes that after a string of stormy nights Shezmu took pity on the dying village. From the sea he picked one of his favoured creatures, the Colossal Narwhal, and borrowing from the strength of the ocean, threw it upon the tallest, outer most stack before striking it with an incredible bolt of lightning. The beast burnt for 19 days. It lighted the way for some of the most successful hauls ever recorded to date and although Shezmu's gift eventually died out, a spark was saved by the village's diminutive church. This same spark was later used to kindle the lighthouse built 3 years later in Shezmu's honour. In reverence to the great feat performed by the first priests of the Divine Fire, each member keeps with them their own spark of the Great Blaze they tend to and maintain.
