My attitude is that I'll take characters on the basis of when they are submitted and approved. Until then, it's open.

Groovy.
Hello. Is this Rp still accepting new people? Just asking since a lot of people were tagged in that early post and it seems quite popular.
Yush, I assumed we were waiting on Vivid, I posted on Friday. Didn't you see my edit? =O I worked...so hard =(
Having been calmed down by Crispin, Terence had sat quietely with his head slumped down onto his arms, feeling miserably hopeless. He had a big issue to resolve before days end and he had no leads at all, nowhere to even begin looking. He could find no glaring error or oversight in his records. He had been meticulous with it, obsessive even and, while he was loathed to admit it, the only way he could account for those missing smidges was someone taking them.

Terence hated the thought of suspecting one of his colleagues, he thought he could trust all of them and it actually brought him shame to even contemplate one of them endangering the entire season of autumn by making off with three smidges of pixie dust.

Forlornly Terence just sat there, feeling utterly defeated until he suddenly became aware of the two fairies before him conversing over the situation.
"Wait..." he muttered uncertainly, raising his head up and glancing hopefully at Ingrid and Crispin "You guys are gonna help me?"
Terence's drooping wings suddenly perked back up, fluttering a little as his frown was replaced with a smile as he dared to hope that, with a little help, he may be able to discover the identity of the thief and recover the lost pixie dust after all.
"Of course you can tag along, Ingrid!" Terence said with a chuckle as he used his wings to flitter up into a standing position "Both of you can, I'm gonna need all the help I can get on this."

Picking up his discarded clipboard and dusting it off on his pants, Terence tapped his chin with it as he considered the questions of the fairies.
"Look, guys, I've got no idea who would take the pixie dust. I mean, who would risk the coming of fall like that? I don't wanna ask anyone at the pixie dust factory...I guess everyone there is a suspect now so..." Terence's wings drooped once more at the thought of one of his colleagues being the culprit, he considered the entire factory to be his friends "Oh! But hey, what about Iona! I dunno, she...knows stuff, right? I've got some pretty good advice from her before. Let's try and find her!"

This was excellent, things were already falling into place! With this new idea in mind, Terence fluttered up and took off over the nearby forest of tall grass.
"Come on, you guys!" he called back at Ingrid and Crispin, waving his hand in a beckoning motion as he disappeared among the foliage.
Hoorah! Glad to see a post from you, Bella! Like I said in our message, I initially thought 'what a lame excuse' but I totes understand the Once Upon a Time feels.

*Loudspeaker* She was watching Once Upon a Time everyone! It's okay, go about your business!

Haha but yeah, anyway my post is going to end with Terence fluttering off to find Iona. I had thought about jumping ahead, making the post include Terence flying around and actually locating Iona but I'm trying to leave posts shorter and more open ended for the responses of your characters at key points rather than dragging characters along for the ride with longer posts. So don't feel bad, Rex and Bella, if your next posts are fairly short, I just want to give you guys more options on how to act.

Raptor, hopefully we'll locate Iona soon OR you could initiate and just post Iona bumping into Terence or one of the others right away, whichever works best for you, it's been a while since you got to post.
Thankyou both, Danko and Dervish. I'm very glad you found Madelief as enjoyable to read as I have found both of your characters.

In fact, I'm finding every post in this Rp fun to read! I think you've managed to gather together a very special group with this idea of yours, Danko. It's a very inspiring setting and it's pretty obvious how much heart you put into it, that's what drew me in anyway.

Oh shoop! Looks like it's back to my turn again. I should probably mention about now, since this is what held me up last time, too, that I don't generally get a chance to post on weekends and it is now Friday for me. I shall begin work on a post but I don't want to rush it. It'll more likely to be posted Mondy, hope that's alright.

Edit: Nevermind, found the time =)
Madelief's thunderous entry through the creaky old wooden door seemed to have flung her nearly a decade back in time. A few weeks previous, she had been sitting in a cold, sparsely decorated room in her family's old stone cottage with nothing but aching fingers, a piano and her own gloomy thoughts but now, in this little cabin, it seemed she had been transported right back to the height of the Wolves' career. Her world just seemed brighter as the flames of the gas lamps danced upon the honey coloured wood and the jovial laughter of her comrades filled her ears.

She was warmed by the words of Wolfgang and Lucian as she strode about the room, intent on re-establishing her unforgotten bond with each of them. She felt a sense of comfort as Wolfgang's scruffy beard tickled her cheek and she felt Fredrik's hand on her back. She laughed haughtily as Lucian related to her the topic of conversation within the cabin, remembering the event as if it were mere days since it occurred and flicking a wicked grin over at Fredrik as if to lightheartedly mock him for what she considered to be overprotectiveness.

This whole flurry of merriment as she entered filled Madelief with such joy. It was like the family reunion she had expected upon her arrival home, one that never came to pass.

Just as the excitement whirling about inside her was starting to die down, Madelief heard the door open behind her and spun to face it, wandering just who it could be and, with an excited gasp was met with the sight of Valéria Aparecida Oliveira de Azevido, a name which Madelief had intentionally committed to memory all those years ago in the hope that it would somehow impress the tough Brazilian and show that she had taken an interest in her. She never did know if it worked.

"Ria!" she cried, opening her arms wide for the third time since her arrival and stepping forward before the faint flicker that constituted a smile from Valéria crossed her face and warded her off, reminding her that big hugs were really not Valéria's way.
Somewhat awkwardly, Madelief managed to restrain her display of affection and attempted to disguise her hug by casually sliding her hands up into her armpits, resulting in stifly folded arms.
"I-it's good to see you" she finished, unable to remove the ear to ear smile on her face.

Were it even possible, Valéria looked even stronger than before. Her body was solid, her eyes hard, intense and unyielding. Madelief had always respected Valéria as a woman, as a pilot and comrade in arms. She had consistently tried to learn from her and, while she always felt as though she was kept at arms length emotionally and struggled to understand Valéria's impersonal attitude, sheer persistence and making an effort to play by Valéria's rules seemed to have led to some level of respect and mutual understanding of how to deal with each other, even if they could not fathom the other's inner workings.

As Madelief stood there in the cabin, the entire scenario seemed like a dream. She'd had them before, dreams where she'd be back in the sky, flying about with her friends and shooting up merchant ships. That was how she saw herself, she wasn't a pirate robbing and stealing and killing, she was just having adventures with her friends, or at least she was until she woke up in her dreary old room. But this, this was real, she knew because nobody could stay asleep with their heart racing with such elation as Madelief felt right now. They were all here, the ones she had known in her heart would answer Wolfgang's call, now the only one they were waiting on was Arturo, where was that guy?

Inspired by the pungent aroma emanating from Lucian's glass as well as his insistence on the matter, Madelief had acquired a glass of red wine and was daintily sipping on it as she merrily basked in the company of her allies when Wolfgang began to speak. She promptly turned to him with a contented smile on her face as memories of all of their former mission briefings flooded back to her. He still had that same authoritative tone and, at first, it filled her with nostalgic excitement as she listened intently for the reason he had called the Wolves back together. Not that the reason overly mattered, she was just happy to be there.

As Madelief listened, however, certain cues led to an uncomfortable feeling in the pit of her stomach. She hadn't heard Valéria question Arturo's whereabouts, but was similarly curious as to his absence, she was sure he would be here, why was Wolfgang beginning without him? And then there was Wolfgang's tone and that look in his eyes.

For a moment, Madelief thought that she may have been overreacting when Wolfgang spoke of Italy, Iliana and their son.
"Aww..." she sighed quietly at the sweet happy ending that Wolfgang seemed to have made for himself, glancing around at the others to gauge their responses, but her attitude was quick to falter.

Iliana 'was' the love of his life? The way in which Wolfgang spoke just didn't add up with the story he was telling, and then it hit her.
Madelief brought her hand to her pale lips to conceal the gasp that escaped from her mouth as Wolfgang mentioned the men that came to his house and tears welled up in her eyes as every word that followed confirmed her fears. Wolfgang had lived through his life, suffering injustice all along, he had survived through their harrowing life of piracy and had finally found peace with a family that he clearly loved and it had been taken from him. All in the space of a few seconds, Madelief had learned of Wolfgang's family and their death. She would never meet them, nor would she ever see the joy they brought to Wolfgang and only adding salt to the wound was that one of their own number had been involved in the foul crime, it was a crushing blow that saw Madelief trying, and failing, to fight back tears.

Madelief was brimming with emotion. She was enraged and saddened, vengeful and distraught, she could scarcely even settle her racing mind on one emotion and just stood there in stunned silence as Wolfgang continued. She did not even move as Wolfgang's story came to a close and felt completely overwhelmed as both Fredrik and Lucian pledged themselves to Wolfgang's cause.

This wasn't how it was supposed to be. The reformation of the Wolves was supposed to be a grand occasion of mirth and rapture before they set off once again on their wild adventures. It wasn't supposed to transformed into a tragedy, people weren't supposed to be betrayed and have their families murdered, their quest wasn't supposed to be about vengeance, people weren't meant to die...

In the wake of Lucian's commitment to Wolfgang's mission, Madelief felt the room become quiet and concluded that it was her turn for a reply, and she struggled for several moments to give it. Things were real now, this was not even comrades getting shot out of the sky and going down in flames, this was a traitorous wrech specifically locating and murdering Wolfgang's family. Why had Arturo done this? She certainly wouldn't find out if she walked back through that door and went home to her mother. Wolfgang had called on her, as well as the others, because he had faith and trust in the fact that they would back him and even though this was not going the be the swashbuckling romp she had hoped for, she would not let that trust be answered with a turned back.

"I--" Madelief cleared her throat as her first attempt at speaking manifested as nothing more than a raspy croak, wiping tears from the corner of her eyes "I'm so, so sorry, Wolfgang" she said, placing the wine glass that she had been holding in a death grip down onto the table beside her as she stepped towards him, gently taking hold of his lapels and staring up at his reddened eyes "I only wish we could have met them...and perhaps we will, yet..." Madelief released him and walked back to her wine glass, taking a measured sip before placing it back down.
"If Arturo has the backing of the Italian Air-force, this is going to be one intense mission. I'll help you, Wolfgang" she replied, as her courage began steadily filling back in and the determined glint returned to her eyes.
"We'll find Arturo and bring him to justice" she pulled her treasured fishing knife from her boot "Sharp justice" she added, running a gloved finger along the back of the blade.
Well I'm certainly glad your inspiration is high, Raptor! That's a big plus. But yes, lack of inspiration certainly causes posts to devolve into rather hurried and lackluster descriptions, that's why I'm aiming for the Rp to be reasonably slow paced and relaxed, I never want anyone to feel they have to post when their creative juices aren't flowing, though obviously we have to keep some level of foreward mobility going.

We do seem to think the same! Infact, Iona bears a few traits similar enough to one of my OC's that I'm actually shelving her and making an entirely new one for this Rp. I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and insert her in, we've lost Lily and I'm not really going to count on Sparx finalising anything. So what if we end up with one extra fairy?

Anyway, I love Iona and I think after all of that doubt you had that you managed to pull together a wonderful description after all though, so well done.

I did wander about those 'sprites' and 'elves' and now I am even more interested =P

Haha! Rex, I literally JUST saw that horror movie Frozen thing, it was on the front page for me (I know that varies between users...or at least I think it does). I thought it was good by I must agree with Raptor, it was much more like an action adventure movie than a horror. Now that thing where they warped Anna's voice during 'Do you Wanna Build a Snowman', THAT was terrifying.

It pains me to say so, since there were certain aspects of it that I adored but I must agree that Frozen seemed a little lackluster to me. I think my expectations may have been through the roof thanks to Tangled. But why, Rex, do you think the ending was a copout?

Anyways, good job on getting a post done, Rex. I like the idea of Crispin's perpetually heightened body heat and his less than helpful response to Terence's woes. And seriously? Garebear? Almost lost it =P

Alright so a week has passed since Bella's last reply as well as both Rex's and my own reply to it, so I'm going to send her a message today and ask her what's up. I've got the weekend starting tomorrow again so it might be a bit messy for me to get a post in there but if I haven't heard from her by Monday, I'm afraid we might have to consider her M.I.A. and move on.

Edit: Okay, it's 3:30pm for me here and I just now sent a message to Bella regarding her inactivity. If she hasn't shown by Monday, I will write a simple exit for Ingrid and we'll have to move on without her.

Keep your eyes peeled for a Bella!
*Crunch* Nom nom nom *Munch munch*

Sho *munch munch* whaf's gon on? *Munch munchie munch*
Aha! I have posted.

Welcome, Dervish. I like your character a lot and Danko, I must say that the prologue to your post was truly gripping, very well written.

Regarding our character relations, Vivid, that's something I've been thinking of a fair bit. I think that Madelief would definitely have thought she was very cool at first and respected her, being a tough woman who, as a pilot, was living her current goal in life and was generally very strong. I think that this admiration and the fact that she is a very open minded person would have caused her to endure Valeria's stand off-ish attitude and make conscious efforts to befriend or get somehow closer to her despite finding her difficult to understand. How do you think that would have worked out for her? I figure they'd have had a few arguments and never truly understood each other but maybe just gained respect for each other's way of being and come to be friends anyway.

Also, in my mind from reading everyone's profile I basically see everyone joining in this order.

Wolfgang - Founding member, obviously.

Valeria - Met Wolfgang in the goldmines and joined right at the beginning.

Madelief - Sought out at some middle-early point.

Fredrik - Had to join sometime after Madelief based on the line in his profile stating that Madelief was the first to greet him.

Lucian - He can basically fit in anywhere after Valeria as I see it so not really sure when Dervish imagined him joining the gang.

EDIT - Also, I'm just winging it using the information I have in regards to my IC comments on our character's past and Madelief's opinions so if I say something that conflicts with your vision of your characters, please mention it and I'll edit it. They're all pretty much written from Madelief's perspective rather than fact anyway, but still.
