Character Sheet
Name: Aadras Zoth
Species: Zabrak (Iridonian)
Age: 29
Rank/Title: Jedi Knight (Peacekeeper)
Planet of Origin/Birth: Iridonia
Force Sensitive Y/N: Y
Appearance:Standing at around six feet, with an athletic figure, Aadras is an impressive sight. The horns typical of his race are proudly displayed on his bald head, featuring most prominently around his forehead. Traditional Zabrak tattoos decorate his chiseled face, which often wears a stern expression. His brown eyes don't wander and remain focused on whatever he is dealing with at the moment, be it an object or a person. Aadras wears the customary brown robes of a Jedi over a beige tunic and trousers. His equipment and clothing are all well-worn and show signs of extensive travel.
Skills/Abilities:- - Form III/V Expert: Aadras is a proponent of Soresu and a skilled Shien practitioner, melding the two Forms to create a defensive style of fighting, specialised against the blaster-wielding opponents he often has to face as a Peacekeeper.
- - Circle of Shelter: A trademark Soresu technique, by entering a meditative state it allows one to deflect numerous blaster shots. Aadras is skilled enough to extend its protection to allies, as long as they remain near him.
- - Force Sense: As a firm adherent of the Living Force, Aadras' senses are honed beyond what is considered normal even for a Jedi. He is especially skilled in the following:
- Battle Precognition -> While true masters are said to be able to predict the outcome of entire wars, Aadras' skills aren't that advanced yet and are centered around smaller groups and engagements. On an individual level this means that he has an uncanny ability to predict where a blow might land or where a shooter is aiming.
- Force Empathy -> Though by no means a true mind-reader, he is skilled at detecting people's emotions and intentions, a talent which has come in handy when negotiating or interrogating criminals.
- Comprehend Speech -> His ability to read people's moods and motives allows him to infer the meaning of words spoken in unknown languages. As a result, Aadras can understand most common languages throughout the Galaxy to an extent, though it does not mean he can speak them.
- - Martial Artist: Zabraks growing on Iridonia are taught to fight as soon as they can walk, undergoing rigorous training even before adolescence. Aadras did not spend much time on his homeworld, but he has continued developing his skills on his own. He mainly does it as a recreational activity, a sort of moving meditation, finding it relaxing.
- - Leadership: Having worked with various ill-equipped security forces across the Outer Rim, Aaadras is used to being an authority figure. He has been in charge of a number of law enforcement operations, but nothing on the scale of the current war.
- - Known Languages: Basic, Zabraki, Shyriiwook
Equipment:- - Utility belt
- Commlink
- Grappling hook
- Aquata breather
- Imagecaster
- Beacon transceiver
- Ion scrambler
- - Lightsaber (single blade, green)
- - Encrypted Datapad
Personality:Aadras is a sworn ascetic - he does not believe in personal wealth or belongings, carrying only the clothes on his back and whatever is needed to fulfill his duties. Like all Zabraks, he is driven and focused, pursuing his goals with a steely determination. Unfortunately, this also means that he can frequently be quite stubborn and it's almost impossible to dissuade him from a given course once he has made up his mind. Aadras follows the tenets of the Living Force, keeping his mind on the present and preferring actions to words. Due to his lineage, he's been burdened with expectations from a young age, which has only strengthened his desire to chart his own course in life.
Outspoken and blunt, Aadras is seen as something of a maverick among Jedi, his proactive stance often clashing with the more tempered views of the Council. Few would call Aadras a cheerful person; he is serious, thoughtful and smiles rarely. Despite his stern demeanor, he cares deeply for the people of the Republic, especially the ones he feels are overlooked, such as the residents of the Outer Rim. He has made it his goal to bring a modicum of stability and justice to those forsaken systems, even if it would cost him his life - a sacrifice he is more than willing to make.
Witnessing the Cathar massacre proved to be a harrowing experience and shook him to his very core. He blames the Republic and the Jedi Order for their inaction, reasoning that it is what allowed a slaughter of such proportion to happen. However, Aadras also blames himself, feeling he failed to garner enough attention to the problem, despite the many years he spent in the Outer Rim. Of course, he keeps such thoughts to himself, opening up only to only those closest to him.
History:Aadras was born on Iridonia, a scion of the revered Zoth clan, who were renowned as healers and mystics. The Zoth were powerful in the Force and almost every generation had a son or daughter who had been taken in by the Jedi; even those that didn't make the cut went on to become powerful spiritual guides for their people. Aadras was groomed for such an eventuality and the promise of greatness was instilled in him from a young age. Despite this, his childhood differed little from those of other Iridonians. He learned to fight and to live off the harsh land, while his elders taught him the ritualistic customs of the clan.
When he was eight, as was the tradition, an emissary from the Order arrived to test the Zoth children. The recruiter immediately felt Aadras' potential, claiming that the child showed great promise and would one day become a fine Jedi, much to the joy of his prideful parents. And so, Aadras left his home and was taken to the Jedi Temple at Coruscant, where he began his training as an initiate.
He was taken on as a Padawan by Master Raden Karn, a human who served as a lightsaber instructor in the enclave on Alaris Prime. It was unusual for members of his rank to have a Padawan, but the Council had insisted on Karn taking the young Zabrak as his apprentice, after the Order's Seers had glimpsed visions of his involvement in future events. As such, Aadras didn't travel as extensively as many other Padawans, instead being confined to the Kashyyyk system and its neighbours.
Master Karn was a follower of the Living Force and instilled the same principles in his pupil, teaching him to live the moment and to keep his focus on the present. Naturally, he heavily focused on Aadras' combat training - the Zabrak trained night and day, every moment in which he didn't study with the other Masters was spent practicing his lightsaber skills and discussing the nature of combat and violence with his dour mentor. His strength in the Force grew ever greater and his superiors were pleased - Aadras had all the markings of a great Jedi and would rise far.
After passing his Trials, Aadras immediately volunteered to work as a Peacekeeper in the Outer Rim, which went against the wishes of his master, his family and the Council itself. Nevertheless, his request was approved and he left Alaris Prime without looking back. Aadras was overjoyed, as he had no desire to follow the path someone else had chosen for him and the injustices perpetrated by the Czerka Corporation on nearby Kashyyyk had convinced him that a Jedi should spend his time among the needy.
He spent the better part of the next decade away from the enclaves and politics of the Order, in the far reaches of the Outer Rim, where criminal syndicates and ruthless warlords reigned unopposed far from the gaze of the Republic. It was an official posting and he frequently worked with various Republic forces or their affiliates, but Aadras would just as often take unsanctioned actions in communities that fell outside Republic jurisdiction. He mainly contended with pirates and slavers, but was often brought in to apprehend dangerous criminals or to aid local security forces in their struggles against gangs and the like.
[Stuff about his Padawan goes here]
Aadras witnessed the initial stages of Mandalorian aggression in the Outer Rim and sent numerous warnings and pleas for help, which largely went ignored by the Republic and the Jedi Order. Frustrated by the Council's unwillingness to act, Aadras was among the first to join Revan when he put out the call. Any reservations he might have had of participating in a full-fledged war evaporated after experiencing the vision on Cathar.
