It was a radical quest to discover dark desires that would cause damage to one's soul! Body odor was stanky, but we soldiered on passed the sweaty goblins. Questionable puddles formed under our large muscles mass, yet the awesomeness radiating outward evaporated into fragrant pheromones. Aroused, and desperate for ass, we fornicated, however our hair caught fire easily. Panicked we pissed all over those. Unfortunately salmon Psykers attacked our flank. We were caught, cornered

@Guardian Angel Haruki aaaaand there we go, it's up and done. Yaaay.
Reincarnation? The hell kind of cockeyed nonsense was this man on about? Wasn't that a cultural taboo those people in the east part of the world believed in? No, he couldn't have died this was just some drunken nightmare. He was drinking that night, maybe in a study or something the details seemed fuzzy though he was beginning to recall something he mumbled to himself. A name maybe? His name? It started with an A, he rubbed the bridge of his nose trying to form the rest of the letters.

"A..Al? No that's not it..." slowly getting to his feet he mumbled to himself, swearing as he stumbled feeling unaccustomed to his body which further made him doubt this being a bad dream "A-ha!" he exclaimed to himself then frowning he realized the fact he had forgotten his own name may be reason to worry about his drinking habits but that Alexander thought (as he recalled drunkenly muttering his name to himself for some reason that night) would need to wait.

It was weird enough that the homely looking old man was named Kerfuffle-something or other but to top it off this...Good lord are his ears pointed? That isn't normal at all "If I weren't this bloody hungover I'd be inclined to smack you silly sir." Alexander shook his fist at the pointy-earred fellow "You do realize you are in a goddamn cave don't you? I dunno how you can put on a goddamn businessman air when your in a...Ugh I can't think let alone explain this place we're in, and speaking of..." turning his head to look the old druid up and down "Tell me this is a dream old man, if it isn't then at least I can be happy I don't hear the goddamn voices in my head anymore." Alex ran a hand through his hair, it was longer than he remembered and lighter almost white but that wasn't his primary concern anymore.

Right now all he cared about was figuring out what the exact hell was going on here and why, if he truly was reincarnated he wanted to know if his past troubles were left in his past and not here and now. Maybe just maybe he could live his life without thinking he was losing his mind.
I've just been having a hard time getting into my character recently, I'll work up a lil post.
@Guardian Angel Haruki and there you have it.

Deadpan, as the half-elf slipped the oddly shaped gourd away he turned his head slowly to the short goblin the trees called 'Excellency' . Gabriel's expression was a mix of surprise and amusement, his brow was raised as to say 'Yes what is your command your excellency?' as Jub looked between Gabriel and Brutrumukk with confusion "Oh a mighty fine request your Excellency." Gabe chuckled, giving the goblin a pat on the back.

"So then your royal majesty," kneeling next to his companion, Gabe rested his hand on Jub's shoulder looking at his small friend with a smirk "What shall we call ourselves? Your stewards? Or heralds? Sworn to protect the life of our king." he gave Jub's shoulder a squeeze before standing with a reassuring smile.

"Oh, I jape of course but really the best question is how do these trees know you Jub?" Gabriel glanced towards the trees as he said so, he wondered if the trees knew who Jub was then it might mean others could recognize the one crowned as Witchlight's monarch. For better or worse this could be as much a blessing as a curse if the wrong type of attention was brought to them, he couldn't be too careful. They weren't in Faerun anymore after all.
Ah haha, so @SleepingSilence I've played Death's Gambit as well however I will offer a couple counterpoints to a few you made.

  • I picked the nerfed class that apparently isn't allowed to have any new weapons/skills whatsoever. So I've gotten new and improved items for every single class aside from the one I picked. Gee thanks. And an anon redditor's advice to someone else acknowledging this was, "idk, you can restart the whole game maybe." Fuck. You. Counterpoint: That's more a skill issue bro, it takes experimentation. I settled on Noble and was fine, didn't use a guide or follow the meta.

Negative/core elements that make or break most Metroidvanias&Soul-likes.

  • These boss fights suck. Their attacks are poorly telegraphed. Their hitboxes are huge. Each of their attacks do so much damage to your character. And most of them have numerous time-wasting gimmicks on top of that. (Becoming invulnerable and/or invisible, summoning distraction monsters, healing themselves, making the screen dark, etc.) Now onto the cherry on top; I still beat every single one of them on my first try. (Nine bosses total thus far.) Because the game gives you seven improvable health potions right off the bat, and it doesn't feel like I'm outsmarting/outplaying an artificial intelligence. It feels like I'm always tanking hits against these cheating bastards, and killing them with the same hit & run tactics. (Doesn't help that my class only has three abilities.) So the idea that I'm only halfway through, and it forces you to rematch five bosses to get the "true ending", doesn't make me excited. Counterpoint: Not gonna disagree that the bosses are a bit gimmicky but I think learning their attacks is pretty important. As well as y'know playing it safe. Me personally only died to the big giraffe boss and the stone giant due to Ione's bullshitery.
  • The RPG stats and skill tree are very limited. (Don't get many skill points and don't grind EXP fast.)
  • Enemies are obnoxious and spam-reliant. Counterpoint: Most enemies in souls games have basic repetitive attacks.
  • Stupid design choices (Makes end-game content and road blocks that require you to have certain items that you've likely already scrapped for upgrades. Meaning, have fun grinding.) Counterpoint: Are you saying items to unlock other areas or add new mobility mechanics? Cause Death's Gambit is technically a roguelike so this kind of thing is pretty par for the course.

Other than that I'd love to hear your opinion on a game like Salt and Sanctuary. I've just got Black Desert now and by tonight should be able to play it. I'm so done paying for Final Fantasy 14's subscription while also trying to pay my PlayStation subscription.

@HEAVY METAL it says so like above the section Persistent World Roleplay forum run by the community, where all roleplays take place in the same universe. It was like an rp where every rp while different took place in a world where the different threads could interact.

I've always wondered why it gets it's own section...I don't see anything different than the casual and Advanced section.

The difference is posting length, so no short posts or one-liners. Advanced writing doesn't necessarily mean you need to post like 10 to 20 paragraphs of text but it is expected you write a lot and are a writer with enough drive to write highly detailed or at least descriptive dialogue. Casual is a middle ground, you can write maybe several or fewer paragraphs but nothing ground breaking. It just requires a certain amount of patience cause both are longer to write than a short one paragraph post.
