Just as we would turn around and condemn or laugh at our ancestors for their barbarism, our descendants will do the same.

I'm happy with participating in a single RP - Something tells me I'm the only one?

In Batam for a month after quitting my job. Been powering through my writing since. I guess this is where I call myself a full-time professional writer.

Please. It's obviously not dead, since the OOC is still active, and it's only been four days. Not enough time has passed to decide that.

Jumping that shark is a bit impatient and presumptuous, isn't it? I mean as others have said; advanced isn't a freeway of posts like casual/free tend to be due to us understanding about real world responsibilities, time constraints, and so forth.

My worry is based on the common 3-day rule. As in if you don't post within 3 days, you're no show. I'm not being impatient or anything. Haven't I shown any indication that I'm being patient? I continued to show interest and fidelity to this particular RP even after about 2 weeks. If it's anyone else, they would have disappeared without a question even as the RP sinks. I thought I'm being polite by asking. The saddest part though is if this RP isn't dead when I asked if it is, it would be the first time ever since I came back to roleplayerguild. So that's about 3-4 RPs that preceded this one. So it's become quite a ritual with me.

I don't get why you guys are trying to attach emotion (and all the bad traits a person could have) to my question when there's no indication of any. I'm not angry, I'm not sad, I'm not frustrated or anything. It's just a question with some history behind it.

Agreed. Advanced RPs often go a long time without posts - this is entirely normal. I think it's also fairly clear that most, if not all, those participating have other things going on in their lives and so getting around to making a decent post can take some amount of time.

I have noticed that, generally speaking, this time of year often sees a slowdown in the activity on RP forums. However, as McHaggis has said, the OOC is still active which indicates most of us are still dedicated to this RP.

I hope you're right about this stuff, because it means I get to join this totally-not-dead RP! :)

That being said, a few people who applied early on haven't been posting in here recently so they may well have dropped out. I'm pretty sure Pal is prepared to handle a few drop-outs, seeing as this always happens - whether due to lack of commitment or simply real life stuff getting in the way. Maybe it's time to proof read that CS? [Insert annoying winking smilie here]

XD lol I haven't even finished the CS. I was kinda waiting on Pal's go-ahead before I fill up the final section. But I might do it anyways on my free time.
So basically, I have one very important question to ask. See, it's been 4 days since the last IC post so...

This RP dead?
@Gowi

It's not creativity in general so much as not being able to write anything for one specific character. I wish it were that easy, haha.

One tactic I find very useful even in important things like writing essays is just to start, put something on paper. The inspiration would start flowing then. You'll ease up into the writing and sometimes the language would do most of the work for you, if you're good enough with it. Basically, just force yourself to write a bit and then it'd keep getting easier from there. It worked with Stephen King (he's an extreme case as he forces himself to write up to 2000 words a day before a van got him bedridden for a long time in hospital), it worked with me. Should work with you or anybody.
You guys could try having a google docs. Back in the day when I was in one of my more successful zombie RP, we used it most of the time as most of our posts are collab. But that's before we were using a dedicated roleplay cloud document service. I forgot what it's called, but it's really good, just that the website came under maintenance.
Mhmm... Quality assurance. I'm assured. See you guys around soon!

Haven't watched Leon: The Professional before. I'll probably do that tomorrow for both the fun and reference. Hit Girl might also make a good reference for her language and badassness, though Valentina will probably never, ever match Hit-Girl in terms of skill.
Always good to see a bunch of veteran roleplayers stepping up :) It's a nice treat. It warms my heart.

I'm still paranoid though, can't change that XD

Also, my academic worries are largely over! I'll be writing more stuff soon, probably tomorrow.

I'm not worried about being lead on because, as a general rule, at least one roleplayer will quit the RP very quickly. It's only a matter of time. A better group of roleplayers will do so slower, but eventually, something's gotta give. Grim, I know, but that's how it is and how I see things going down all the time :(
@Palindromatic The way I see it, I think I stand a good chance of entering soon. 5 posts in over a week in the rp's debut when there are 10 roleplayers? Chances are, it looks to me like at least one or two are MIA by now.

Not that I'm rushing. I'm done rushing in general. I'd been rushing for most of April.

Although one thing I worry about is the Rp's health. The ooc is largely silent and yeah, the IC isn't much better. This is a well constructed RP with a good concept and plan. I'd hate to see it sink into the detritus of lesser material. I hope I'm not being overly paranoid but my experience with roleplayerguild so far has been entirely negative, unfortunately. I'm hoping that this RP will change that.
Just some references I've been working with. :)

A Work-In-Progress

RP seems to be going slow but steady. Better that than fast and burning out.

I'm thinking of working on my CS once my academic worries are over. What do you guys think? I could even start writing posts in OOC that takes place in Valentina's past to flesh her out more. Had this idea yesterday while I was all dizzy in a mental maelstrom after finally submitting my FYP.

Hey, Darkraven! Finally you post something! I've seen you viewing this thread a few times. Nice to see you're interested!

Well I do appreciate you wanting to even out the demographic - both in terms of a female and a child. I expect a lot more younger characters than older, and instead it was the other way around. Weird how things work out like that.

I will admit, Valentina seems like an interesting, lethal character. Trying to reintroduce a feral child so badly scarred into a semi-functioning society would be great to read and explore. I know she wasn't as bad off, but it reminds me of Newt from Aliens a bit. But, unfortunately, I am going to have to say we are a little full right now. If you want I can PM you once we have an opening? I'd love to see what you'd do with Valentina, but I feel a group of ten characters would easily get messy and disorganized. Sorry about that! But I'll keep you posted.

I guess I'll just hang around.
