Meanwhile, Griffith Park was seeing some military activity. It seemed a stronghold was being quickly put together due to it's elevation so military personel there can observe the outbreak as well as fortifying their defenses easier there.

One soilder and field medic, callsign "Vixen", was also there. Assigned to a support role, she was there investigating the outbreak itself. Inside the Observatory, Vixen aka Rachel Fernandez had quantined a random room to simply study blood samples from deceased victims she and the military had to sadly gun down. But it wasn't looking too promising. Most of the blood was pretty much useless since it seemed most of the victims that used to be walking and shuffling around were too far into the later stages to see how this virus works.

One thing's for sure, this virus was in a league of it's own. Even the infamous Ebloa virus would be like a common cold when compared to this thing. And with all the tours and missions she had done, she had thought she'd seen it all. But it seems someone or even mother nature herself always seemed to find some way to throw her a kunckleball that she doesn't see coming.

Looking away from the microscope, she just sighed. Higher ups were hoping that either her or others assigned to this assignment would be able to find a vaccine or something anything remotely useful to combat this virus without having to send in soldiers to do it the old fashioned way. While she didn't like that, she knew it may come down to it. Kill or be killed. But even that was a problem. It definetly wasn't airborne but direct contact, be it a bite or infected blood getting into your bloodstream, made this virus a serious risk to fight against. Soldiers themselves could become infected and they could start spreading it around.

Rachel had been trained for everything for many years now but this whole situation was right out of some video game, movie or even a horror book.

A knock came on the door and she approached it.

"Que?", Rachel called in spanish.

"Private Hicks Ma'am", came the reply.

Opening her door, she then saluted the private and he returned the salute.

"Sorry ma'am but you've just been given a transfer order from high up. Your going to the airport."

"...which one?"

"L.A.X ma'am."

"And for what reason? I'm still doing research here."

"We've been getting reports that there was a...stage one infected there but things are starting to get ugly...and ma'am, this report came from a private there and not the man in charge."

"...ugh...what happened?"

"Apparently, a child had caught it in the early stages. Sadly, some soldiers paniked and shot the boy and beat his mother to death in front of the civilians."

Rachel just shook her head at that.

"I know we have to do some...harsh things Hicks but in front of other people?"

"That's why "higher ups" are sending you out. One: to see if you can get better samples there. Two: to help the commander take charge. Or so I was told ma'am."

Slowly nodding her head, she then says, "Then give me a couple of minutes. I first need to get rid of these samples-"

"Ma'am. The other decontamination teams here will do that. Don't worry. They know the rules you told them on how NOT to get infected and to properly dispose of contaminated blood. We've already trying to get a chopper or a hummer escort to get you there right now. Which will come sooner than later. Just start gearing up for a fight."

Looking back into the room that was sort of her mini-lab, she then just nodded to Hicks and just threw the rubber gloves and surgeon mask into a nearby bin with a biohazard symbol on it and closed the lid.

No sooner than she left the room that she saw two individuals in the traditional yellow bio-suits walk by them. Both gave a salute to her.

"We got it ma'am. Just be careful", one said.

"Yeah. It's a different kind of "war" out there Vixen", the other said.

"Don't I know it", she responded with a salute.

Escorted by private Hicks, Vixen was escorted to the "weapons cache" area where most of the guns were being held near the Observatory. Gearing up with with goggles, a regular military helmit and her uniform and arming herself with a combat knife, an LMG and pistol. She then looked at all the other deadly equipment there.

...I don't really believe in God but heaven help us if we go all out... , she thought as she continued to suit up.
Name: Rachel Fernandez (Callsign "Vixen".)
Age: 30
Origin: "Classified" (Puerto Rico?)
Residence: "Classified"
Occupation: Military, Field Medic
Relationships: "Classified"

Appearance: Although classified, it's said that she has a look to suggest that she's from the islands around Puerto Rico. Short black hair. Brown eyes and tanned colored skin. Because of military training, she's also well-trained and her body looks almost like an amazon. Stands 5'10". Wears basic military uniform with symbols of the red cross to indicate her role in a squad.

History: Rachel Fernandez, callsign "Vixen", is one of a select few military personel to be mostly a mystery to even her fellow soldiers. Even though she's a field medic and even trained soldier, she seems to be only assigned to the most unique of situations.

Even her past and origins are a mystery but some who had asked her tend to get the following story. That she's from the islands, Puerto Rico. Possibly Suan Juan. That she grew up in the worst parts where poverty was a frequent issue. She had to grow up quick. And that she was a survivor.

She also claims that she has no living relatives. That she was just a stray who just happend to find a foster family who cared enough to provide for her. Then, once she had gone and finished school, applied to colleges in the States. Where exactly she doesn't say.

Some believe too that she actually lost her parents due to illness and a lack of health care. Where Rachel was, healthcare was also another problem and some believe that when she needed to get family members to health centers, she would always get held up due to lack of staff or simply not getting enough attention to tend to their patients. It perhaps inspired or motivated her to be a field medic or even doctor. To perhaps ease that pain that she can immedately go out and save others where she couldn't due to unfortunate circumstances.

Whatever the case, "Vixen" amonst other special-named military, are usually called in when things get "out of hand" or a special operations mission. Her training, where she went to school and for how long all seemed to be classified but is trusted by others to do her job.

It's also rumored that she once did a tour in the Middle East as well as being requested to assist in a spec ops mission in Russia. In both cases, to neutralize a possible Bio-terrorist threat...

Personality:

While Rachel may come off as your stoic military soldier, she does have a warm spot in her heart when it comes to helping others if at all possible. Even more so when it involves their health. But possible military tours and missions have hardened her to accept that she can't always save everyone. It's because of this that she sometimes can't stand authority or high rank officials who put the mission over human life/civlians. She also has a temper because of this. Sometimes she even speaks spanish instead of english when she's angry not realizing whoever she's arguing with may not even understand her.

Starting Situation:

She was deployed at Griffith Park but due to reports on early infected individuals at LAX airport, she is considered being transfered there unless ordered otherwise.
Hi all. Sorry it took long but I finally finished a character sheet.

Problem is...well...I felt like I just threw random and vague stuff together and called it a character >_<. Either way, I don't think this character will work but eh...let me see if anyone laughs at it first before I drop the anime sweatdrop on the side of my head -_-' *sweatdrop*...too late...

Yeah, there's still room to join.If you're going to play a military character, I would personally recommend starting at Griffith Park or Pasadena, as the military would try to fortify the former at Griffith Observatory as the elevated terrain there would allow them to look over the epicenter of the outbreak around Downtown LA and East LA, and the latter would provide a vital chokepoint for the military to control the outbreak between the various valleys in the LA area. However, you can start at LAX if you wish. The military at LAX under General Matthias has by far run a police state there, but it might be interesting for a military character to be a good guy instead of following orders to do bad shit to people.

That was the general idea I was gunning for Wayne. I figured one RPer should be a military guy or gal. Again, I saw a doctor type character but I also thought the military would have a field medic for this sort of mess. Perhaps trying to find a cure or a way to control this virus but eh, just someone who can help heal injuries would be good enough. I actually thought about LAX to start since most of the characters are there but...well it's up to you. I still need to think of a character more specific too.

This may come off as perverted depending but I wasn't sure what "gender" to make the field medic. Do you have too many males or females? I just consider these sort of things before committing to a C.S.
Hi all. You still accepting CS's? I did show some interest in this but I just got back with a new account and still sort of adjusting to the new RPGuild look. Still, I was with the old one for awhile ^_^.

Anyways, if there's still room, I was generally thinking of a military "field medic" since it seemed such a role wasn't filled (well besides the doctor). Anyways, first...is there still room to join?
Well I was with RPGuild for awhile but I guess all the old accounts were lost so I had to make this one again.

Still, glad to see the forum back up. But all the same, hello to all ^_^
