Pretty much what @Ammokkx has said. The coma was a result of Mai basically losing the fight against the Cruxi, and if it weren't for Caretaker's intervention she would have died. Reflecting on one's self would be an example of a direction, as it were.

Hmm. Yeah that makes sense. Still, I just don't want to be left out too much since first off, don't want her to wake up too early. Otherwise, she'd most likely have some mental defect. I did think about doing that actually but eh, wasn't sure if I can play that out right.

And even though I'm going through alot for a second character, Jake is really just a "temp" till either Mai or even Elora return, more RP characters show or if Lorenzo and/or Ritsu themselves feel that Jake had served his purpose. I just want to keep involved with the other character drama's.

Then again...I could be digging my own grave with this too -___-'

Still, I went through the hoops so I better at least show for it. This time, I went in a new direction mech wise (Updated):

Name: Jake Armstrong

Appearance:
Stands 6'2".

Age: 18

Experience:
Synchronization Rate:

Personality: He's easy to talk to, cheerful and sometimes talks in rhymes due to his hobby in music. Though when the battle starts, he does develop a serious personality but not on the extreme like Mai does. He does get moody though if anyone tries to talk to him about his past.

Motive to live: Unknown (Refuses to reveal).

Background: Jake comes from a long line of military family. His last name is rather well-known around certain military social circles. It's said that his parents and even his grandparents were either pilots or were in engineering and mechanical divisions within the military. Even more so when the Cruxi started their war with humanity. Though he doesn't like talking about it, it's said that his grandparents and his father died during the war with the Cruxi. His only living relative being his mother who is rumored to be a framework pilot.

But when you look at Jake and even his personality, some would think that he'd be the "black sheep" of the family and not a proper soldier slash pilot...though Jake has proved that, despite his lack of experience, "looks can be deceiving".

It's also said that he even met Mai when she was transfered to his division. Though Jake admits that it was probably because of him that Mai transfered out of it due to him trying to "lighten her up" and getting her involved with his music.

It was also because of Mai's current "coma" state and his various skills with "drones" and "reconnisance" that Jake requested a transfer to Lorenzo's Sigma division.

Notable Deaths: Grandparents - K.I.A. Father - K.I.A. Mother - Active (framework pilot?)

Other things: As stated, Jake's hobbies include music, video games, reading and mechanic's due to him learning to maintain his own framework as well as "drone" matience. He's also very perceptive of his surroundings and even people and sometimes Cruxi during combat. Even in an urban environment, he can sometimes spot a threat or something "out of place". He's also a decent long range shooter. However, unlike other members of his family, always had trouble with Melee combat. It's also one of the reasons why some consider Jake the "Black Sheep" since most of the Armstrong family favor melee and martial arts types of fighting over long range.

Framework Code Name: Weissritter aka "White Knight" (Model ID code: PTX-007-03C)

Appearance:

Signature Weapon System: "Neo" Rifle - Originally called the Oxtongue Rifle and as shown in the above picture, Jake changed the name to "Neo" since he felt that it was "the one" perfect long range rifle for any pilot worthy of long range support. The reason being is because it's a double-barrel rifle with each barrel shooting two different types of shots. The top barrel fire energy/laser blasts through a rechargable battery clip. While the battery can recharge fairly quickly (after each turn), Jake CAN fire it rapidly but at the cost of burning the clip out (meaning he has to reload if he has a clip). The lower barrel fire bullets of a variety of types though Jake finds the standard ammo plenty since, as a rifle, still packs a serious punch. But much like a real rifle, Jake has to pull the handle on the trigger grip to load the next shot in. And after 8 shots, needs to reload a fresh clip (if he has any). And much like any rifle, it does have trouble handling close range targets due to it's size and length so care is needed when handling it.

Secondary Weapon System: Air "Recon" Drones - As the name suggests, Jake has about 5 recon drones attached to the back of the White Knight. Perhaps similar to the ones used by a pilot from within Lorenzo's Sigma division, the drones assist Jake by taking to the sky and update him and even his team on the battlefield as well as finding targets for Jake to snipe. Be it Automated or Manual control, Jake can do both with the drones. Because of his skills and job as a "recon" expert, he also uses the combat data recorded to plan for any new Cruxi or enemy units discovered as well as abnormalities in an attempt to give other divisions proper counter-measures during the war. Though he hasn't been able to do so yet, he hopes to one day record what he calls "warp signatures" from the Cruxi since he heard rumors that some Cruxi utilitze that technology.

Armor Type: Medium

Special Ability: ???

Note: Another weapon to note is the three "stakes" on the left hand. Normally within three points around the wrist area, they can pop out and produce a high-voltage electric shock as a last resort melee attack to at least stun a target for Jake to retreat or retaliate against. Again, it's a last resort that Jake wishes to never use often due to his weakness in close range combat. It also has enough energy for one charged attack so after that, he can't use it for the rest of the battle since it needs serious time to recharge.
@DarkRecon
This line is problematic: "His skills both as a pilot and soldier of sorts has perhaps saved many a life during the wars." War veterans are fine as characters (see Harold), but this seems like a bit of shilling at this point.

The secondary weapon system is a rehash of Setsuka and should be something new, while the drones, even if they are a homage, seem too diverse in their utility, and should be either limited or weakened.

As for everyone else, I'll be doing some mini-collabs between Lorenzo and some of the characters: titanpad.com/4uQrxZu429

Yeash...tough crowd -_-'

Well I'll delete that line but...ariamis. Do you want me to sit out the RP or something? I can't do much with Mai in a coma unless there was a direction you were trying to hint at?
And I finished my post. Though I ain't sure what happens from here on out. Heck, I ain't sure if that post came out the way I wanted it to.

I do know that I have to perhaps update Mai's profile to reflect some things metioned in that post. I also accidently changed her sync rate to reflect the current condition she was in during the battle of Joppa but I don't remember where it was now before that battle started or after certain "drops" she took during the fight. *sigh* sorry but when I was told that your sync rate resets back to it's assigned rate after the fight, I kind of didn't know that part.

Also, I ain't sure if there's any point to the second character but for those who are simply curious, here's a revised and completed version:

Name: Jake Armstrong

Appearance:

Age: 18

But when you look at Jake and even his personality, some would think that he'd be the "black sheep" of the family and not a proper soldier slash pilot...though Jake has proved many that "looks can be deceiving".

His skills both as a pilot and soldier of sorts has perhaps saved many a life during the wars. Despite the carnage he's involved in, he somehow finds a way to survive and even help others around him do the same.

Even in an urban environment, he can sometimes spot a threat or something "out of place", hence why he's a "recon" expert.

Framework Code Name: Hornet or Qubeley (Model ID code: amx-004g)

Appearance:

Signature Weapon System: Air Remote/Automated Drones - Jake always tries to support his team and this system reflects it. Stored in the "tail" of the Hornet, the variety of drones he has created allow him to adapt to almost any combat situation. Though the tail can only hold 10 drones at a time and Jake doesn't like sending them all out at once since he feels that it runs the risk of them getting shot down easily. Manual control or Automated, Jake can do either with them. From an "Attack" drone that can shoot lasers or bullets depending on the drone, "Kamikaze" drone which self-detonate when colliding with a target, "Recon" drones which fly at high alititudes to give info on the current battlefield and can track targets even if they use cloaking technology, "Repair" drones which do as the name says and perhaps more if Jake comes up with other designs. It's said though that the Repair and Recon drones were copied or inspired by two pilots from within Lorenzo's division.

Secondary Weapon System: Despite it's rather bulky look, the Hornet also has software installed on most mass-produced weapons, allowing it to weild just about any weapon that isn't unique to any framework. It can be updated to handle unique weaponry, allowing it to be very versatile if given the weapon itself before a mission.

Armor Type: Medium

Special Ability: ???

Note: Other than what's listed, the Hornet is still your average framework if it isn't properly equipped. The sharp fingers "could" be used as stabbing melee attacks but Jake says that's an ABSOLUTE last resort. Since it can adapt with most forms of standard weapons, it can still put up a fight. Without it's drones though, it does become nothing more than your average unit.
Mai suddenly woke up with a start. She thought that she should be dead. Yet somehow, here she was.

"...I'm...alive...?...wait..."

Then, she immedately knew something was wrong...something was VERY wrong. In fact, the place she was in, she recognized it.

When she sat up, she looked around...and saw..."nothing" for a better lack of term. But she knew this kind of landscape.

The all-white smooth ground...the gray colored sky...and nothing around for miles.

Alone...quiet...empty.

She then tried to piece together the last things she remembered but had trouble filling the blanks for reasons she knew. The battle at Joppa.

"...long time Mai..."

She then looked to her side...and saw herself. Though she was in the black plugsuit that she always wore. Just now "she"...or her other self, wasn't wearing the back helmit with the red visor.

And quickly looking herself over showed that she also was still in her black plugsuit.

But Mai knew better...this...wasn't reality.

This was her mind...and it'd had been a long time since she had last been this deep into..."herself".

"...Seven...", Mai simply said.

"...as I said, it's been a while ma'am...", Seven droned while giving a salute.

Shaking her head, Mai then watched as "Seven" then sat down right in front of her. Mai herself then got into a proper sitting position herself.

"...are we...dead?", Mai asked.

"...no...but your aware what happened the last time this happened...", "Seven" droned in response.

Of course, how could she NOT forget. Her first test run with the Telekenetic system. Her first battle with it in the Setsuka...pushing past her default Sync rate limit...then...this.

"...coma...", Mai said, looking down and trying to control herself.

"...the human brain is quite strange...your self-aware of that ma'am...and yet...", "Seven" droned.

"...how bad was...no nevermind...I'm starting to remember", Mai said, recalling the last moments.

From there, both just sat there...quiet. Perhaps both, in their own ways, were accepting the silence. The solitutde. The..."downtime" so to speak.

But for how long this time? If she remembered right, the pain...taking all those sniper rounds mostly then that one shot from the Cruxi squad...her leg blown off...wings burned and damaged...that buring sensation with the green fire...then the lower torso getting blown off in her last mad dash to take down the remaining two Cruxi.

The last time, she was out for only a day...but...this time?

"..."Seven"...do you think it's time to leave this world?...I'm just...tired...", Mai said rather darkly.

"...negative...we still have work to do...", "Seven" droned.

"...then...you don't..."need" me...do you..."

"Seven" took a long look at her "other half". Even she couldn't comprehend the human soul. But then again, the humans were fighting a rather desperate war. With her mother and her special abilities and skills, she was perhaps the best bet the humans had.

Then, her last moments of "madness" changed everything...being pushed too far due to that same system and the "demands" of others...

That's when Mai was forced to serve being that Maria "Angel" Twilight was her last living relative. Even her home was taken over by the Cruxi. Then...the "Helldivers" division...Caulder and the other pilots.

But some were hoping that she'd also develop the same skills her mother had.

And that's was when "she" came into the world to help Mai cope...to help her "deal" with the horror's of war. Then to the point of completing the missions...to do things that no other pilot can do...to make those hard decisions...to even give up their very lives for the sake of not only the mission...but for the well-being of others.

But what Mai was saying...was that she can have complete control of her own destiny. To make her own path for herself in this chaotic war. To be more than a "drone" sent to go and fight...

To destroy. To live. To survive.

Yet to "Seven", something happened...why did that seem so...heartless?

Why was she hesitating? She could be her own person. She could be in full control of this body.

But for "Seven", she already knew the reason.

"...I can't comply with that order ma'am", "Seven" suddenly droned.

Mai looked up, a look of shock on her face.

Then...tears. Mai started to cry.

"...why...I just...I just want it to end...the fact that your here just shows how screwed up in the head I am!...why Seven?!...WHY?!?!?!"

"...because...seeing you bear all that weight that was "forced" upon you...it just..."

"Seven" then said something that she never thought a "personality" trained to kill would say.

"...it just...hurt..."

Mai had tears in her eyes and took a long hard look at "Seven"...or perhaps, herself.

She then leaned foward...and hugged herself. Crying on her own shoulder.

* * * * * * * * * *

In reality, Mai was still hooked up to the machines like Zim and Serah witnessed before. But sometime later, if anyone were to take a closer look at Mai...they would see fresh tears from her eyes.
Well really, Jake was supposed to be just a temporary substitute pilot till Mai recovers. I just don't know what direction to go with her at the moment so that's kind of why I made Jake similar to Mai.
Hi all. Just having a rough weekend now on top of the last few weeks of my job -___-'

But yeah, while I haven't gotten around to writing up some trippy dream sequence for Mai, I have been working on a "substitute" character of sorts. I might as well show what I have. I don't have the framework ready yet but he, figure I should show what I have character wise then get criticism on it. Here:

Name: Jake "Six" Armstrong

Appearance:
Stands around 6'1".

Age: 18

Experience:
Synchronization Rate:

Personality: Most times, stoic and android-like persona. Other times though, he's easy to talk to, cheerful and sometimes talks in rhymes due to his hobby in music. Much like Mai is to her "Seven" persona, there are some who believe Jake and "Six" are perhaps two different people.

Motive to live: Unknown

Background: Much like Mai and the other "numbers", not alot is known of Jake. Though recent stories have come to light that the "Helldivers" Division was the name of the division both Jake, Mai and five others were apart of (the name also being after an internet console game from the past he also said). In it, they were trained to the extreme's and even told some of the awful "truths" about the war with the Cruxi. It's been said by Jake that the reason for it's disbanment was that the "big wigs", as he means "higher ups", were afraid that their commander and scientist, Caulder, was planning a civil war to overthrow the current ruling parties within the military. Jake admits that Caulder didn't approve of certain programs like the "clones" or "homonculus" being used to try to compete with the Cruxi's numbers simply because it wasn't producing quality pilots. But he never would be so foolish to start something that would "screw humanity over".

Then, things changed when Caulder discovered and started implimenting the Telekeneic System for his division.

Supposedly, that was the real reason why Caulder was forced into hiding and his division disbanded according to Jake. It was also from here that Jake "bounced" around from division to division. With no one trusting him nor even giving him the chance, he simply went along with the storm and got thrown around in it for sometime.

Then, he got word on Mai's division and her condition that she was in a coma.

That's when both Jake and his framework suddenly went M.I.A. though it's said that he went straight to where ever Mai was...

Notable Deaths: Unknown

Other things: Much like Mai, Jake also has his own mysteries but perhaps high ranking officials already know his story much like they do Mai's. And perhaps similar to Mai, Jake seems to have two opposite personalities that makes some wonder if he has a split personality disorder of sorts. Where it seems Mai's two persona's, if they are two, are smiliar, Jake's stoic drone to music buff tends to catch most off guard.

As stated, Jake's hobbies include music, video games, reading and mechanic's due to him learning to maintain his own framework.
Considering Mai's condition, collab is out of the question for me. Still debating that second "number" character thing I metioned before.

I also lost track of Mai's Sync rate in all that chaos -___-'...think she's down to around 40% or so...
...wow...I'm amazed Mai is even still alive after all the pain and trauma she had to endure through her framework.

But "coma"...I don't think Mai's going to be waking up anytime soon sadly...I thought about making another "number" character because of this unless you want Mai to wake up after everything's said and done.
Still here...but even online, guess I'm just anti-social -___-'

I don't want to say anything considering it may make people bail on this but in general, we got competition. I saw another mecha RP or two of some sorts around the casual area. I think one is about "classes" and social structure and using mecha combat as a sport...eh I forget what it was called.
"...Katya...listen to me...I've listened in...caught a glimpse of the new Cruxi...that one...is an enemy ace", "Seven" voice said over the open comm link.

The Neo Angel seemed done after the rather reckless retreat but it was...sloppy...inefficient...but that didn't matter now. What matter was the new threat that showed up.

"...listen...I've been in battles before from my first division...but only I've heard stories from my first commander...he said there are powerful Cruxi that only show when a pilot either "evolves" or achieves perfect sync...some may even have telekenetic powers in a form that allows them to invade your mind...", "Seven" continued.

"...Ariin...I'm dead weight now...you-must-assist-Katya-NOW...save Elora...that Cruxi...is dangerous..."

With her peace said, "Seven" could do nothing now. Her leg was servered and that crash really messed up her motor functions...either that or her framework sync rate took a dive.

Perhaps she was simply accepting her fate...all she could do was perhaps get into a sitting position now and fend off attackers with her magnum pistols and even beam sabers but she doubted her survival rate. Plus, that new Cruxi...
...no...they told me to live...that I'm not broken...but I'm inefficient...I couldn't even control...these new "feelings" everyone radiates on me...

And she knew why too.

...because I was trained to "kill" such emotions...I was never trained to "control" them...but why do I need "feelings"?...why during a war?...why?...I don't...get it...

However, she did make up her mind on one thing...she was going to continue fighting.

Getting into a sitting position, Magnum pistol in one hand and beam saber in the other, she braced herself at H5 for anyone or anything that came after her looking for an easy kill.

She'd at least make sure they work for it.
