Hey, you know what's annoying? Being self-centered. Getting mad at people for doing something instead of something else when they're just having fun sucks. Gotta love self-loathing, too.

We'll save that for later, when the scribes are actually teaching you Indigo Magic. Let's instead look at the big cloud of electromagnetic energy that's permeating this entire mountain! ... Which you've probably already felt by now. But it's very safe and exceptionally efficient at maintaining and transferring energy. The energy we produce gets fed into an endless current inside of the mountain. We extend the magnetic field it generates all over the city, and when we need energy in an area, we bend the current through the existing field and hook it into buildings.

So that's what that was...

It's roguelike by definition.

"Roguelike is a subgenre of role-playing video game characterized by a dungeon crawl through procedurally generated levels, turn-based gameplay, tile-based graphics, and permanent death of the player character. Most roguelikes are based on a high fantasy narrative, reflecting their influence from tabletop role playing games such as Dungeons & Dragons."

The fights are random as well as the layout, there are three different bosses you can get in each dungeon, and you do get something. You get better every time you play and then ascend when your deck building skills are high enough to win. What it sounds like you want is a roguelite, an offshoot of the roguelike genre where every playthrough helps you succeed a little more. StS is a true Roguelike with permadeath and virtually no help from previous runs other than your whale boost. Not sure what you mean about the final boss, since it depends on which you get. If you mean Donu and Deca, yeah. Absolutely. But the Timemaster? He's reasonable if your deck scales well, especially if it scales passively.

A roguelike doesn't have the exact same start every time. An option to actually build a deck, even of just common cards, instead of giving the same useless deck every time would make it a roguelike. This also doesn't have tile based graphics.

I'm talking about the fucking wolf that regens its entire health then does like 48 damage on it's next attack.

I mean the gravity-transforming counterweight system that we use to run the elevators that get us up and down. But, well, yeah. We could still just jump up and down.

Okay~

Luckily, we're finished watching baking. Next up, we're going to study gravity—how we get up and down and how the gyro moves around the city.

But... couldn't we just jump up and down to see the same thing?
Finally, Ascension 10! Got the achievement and now there are only 7 more to go.

It not being a rouguelike makes it boring. It's the same exact thing until after the first boss and I could swear I've had the same 6 fights in a row every time I've made it to the City. And then the final boss is obscene. If there was some actual benefit to replaying instead of just "now there's more mostly useless cards you *might* get" it would be much less "oh great now to do the same boring things again for 30 minutes until I maybe get to new stuff."

-Aron- Wow is right.
-There's an instabake oven as well, programmed for the most common orders, like angel cake. When you go over to it, you'll see the same chemical reactions happen almost at the same time in just the right order. *When the bakers load in a batch, we go over to watch*

*Watches for a few seconds*
Is there anything really cool to study? Baking is kind of boring.

It's much nicer.
