"It's nice to meet you." Summer said with a slight bow. Her face was covered in a huge grin as Penny explained her and Kimble's presence. It looked like this branch of Beacon had some supporters, like herself, of change. She quickly brought out a small sketchbook and began drawing the girls in the room. After a few moments she stopped and looked at the rather cartoonish versions of the three girls. Summer's eyes widened in shock and she stole a glance at both Sally and in the direction Penny went before closing the sketchbook and giving the remaining two girls her full attention, ready to answer any questions they might have for her. That was, until a magical boy entered and had an orgasm over the existence of sandwiches. She quickly drew a caricature of him as well, but was somewhat non-impressed. "So... what's with the robot and the catgirl? Can I get a more full story?"

On another side

Makoto arrived with a large backpack at a small cave in the middle of North Dakota. Not the North Dakota one would normally think of if asked, but rather that of an alternate world altogether. It was a cave that she'd frequented fairly often on behalf of a Deity in this other world, attempting to evict the elderly resident. Makoto knocked on the door a few yards into the cave, a simply wooden door held in place by wooden planks that blocked the view further inside. The woman who opened the door scowled when she saw who her guest was.

"Here again? I thought I'd made it clear that I have no intention of moving the last time you came by."

Makoto laughed and scratched the back of her head, slightly embarrassed. "I'm not actually here for that. I'm here with a nice offer for you, if you're interested~"

"I'm not." the woman replied as she shut the door in Makoto's face.

"Ah! Wait, at least hear me out first! This is really important!"

The woman sighed and opened the door again. "Fine, but this had better be worthwhile."

"It is, I promise. I can get that pesky god off your back for at least a thousand years and all I need you to do is help me with something."

"Help? While it would be nice to not be bothered every day, why should I help you with anything? What could you even want from me anyway?"

Makoto's face lit up in excitement. "You're the best rune-user I know, and I know a lot of them. Besides, us Void-Touched need to stick together, right? I just need you to make and place some runes for me. I've got a list of what I need them to do and where they go all prepared and everything." She pulled a small burlap sack out from her bag and presented it to the woman, head hung somewhat in a bow. "Eight thousand years of experience is hard to come by, so I'm willing to do a lot to get your help."

The elder woman paused, then sighed. "I can tell you're being genuine about this. All I have to do is carve some runes and you'll get that bastard Baldur to leave me be?"

"That's right. Thousands of magical girls and boys have worked together for this, including some of the smartest ones out there. But I don't know of anybody but you who could possibly make the runes we need."

"Hmpf. Fine. Come in, then." The woman opened the door and went back inside. Makoto quickly followed.

Levers allow you to reduce the total amount of force you have to carry by multiplying the distance. Here, the ground acts as the fulcrum, the torso as the downward force in the middle (the load), and Eirene as the upward force, holding the legs. If the deer were perfectly rigid (i.e. can't move), it would act as an ideal lever. But because corpses are really pretty floppy, it's not an ideal lever. But it's pretty close.
