Very good. Inconveniently, it is not in our power to add or remove momentum, and energy is generally non-directional, so getting energy itself to move in a certain direction is not straight-forward. Helpfully, we almost never have to move something that is purely energy—but if you do, there are tricks to help you get things in the right direction, tricks that are helpful in other situations. One technique is akin to what you did when you learned how to bend gravity, and if you think about it for a while, you should be able to come up with a similar technique to indirectly bend spacetime as well and change the direction of this ball.
