Organization Name: Bretin's Raiders.
Organisation Leader: Bratin Bob'namon,
-Former Batarian marine that went 'rogue', and now raids fringe Human (and some non-human) colonies for slaves.
-Survivor of the Skillian Blitz.
-Experienced soldier, and slaver.
-Nicknamed 'Bob' by some of his enemies..
Bio: While little is known about his life before starting a career in Piracy, it is known that Bratin was formerly apart of the Batarian military up until the Hegemony closed their embassy on the Citadel. It is believed that he was born to a middling caste on Kar'shan, joining the Batarian military when he came of age, probably out of a patriotic sense of duty which seemingly persisted even after leaving the Batarian military. It is known however; that he was a raider out in the Attican Traverse during the early 2170's, serving as a crewman on a frigate that took part in the Skyllian Blitz of 2176.
After the failure of the Blitz, he led the disgruntled Batarians in a mutiny, deposing of the original pirate captain and the non-batarians, and taking command of the frigate for himself. This frigate would later be renamed: "Balaks Tooth", out of reverence for one of the Hegemonie's commanders. Bratin spent the first few months leading his new found command raiding unguarded freighters wandering the Terminus Systems up until the start of Anhur Rebellions a few months later. The raiders both smelling money and out of patriotic fervor, sided with the pro-slavery Na'hesit faction.
Bratin suspect the Na'hesit were going to come out victorious, until the arrival of Eclipse in which the war took a deadly turn. The stakes grew higher, and Bratin found himself going up against Captains much more experienced than he was, raiding bases much stronger than typical mercenary bases. He even suspected at one point that he wasn't going to survive as his crew slowly grew impatient with the lack of credits, up until the Battle of Neith in which luck played into Bratin's hands. He managed to successfully disable one of the more interesting frigates, discovering a impressive engine after the Marines had wiped out the surviving Mercs.
After that, his luck began to turn. The new found frigate proved invaluable during the later stages of the war, in which the raiders had a easier time of capturing and destroying enemy ships, although base raids weren't terribly improved. The Na'hesit, even when losing, still payed Bratin and the Raiders quite handsomely, allowing him to invest in a safehouse to hide in after the rebellions finally drew to a close. When the war became hopeless, the Raiders left the Amun system, picking up a few Na'hesit soldiers as the last Batarian settlements came under siege by Eclipse mercenaries.
Now post-Anhur, Bratin sits in the Jewel's commanding chambers thinking. He want's to expand his operations, but realizes that he needs to do more than just raid simple merchant vessels and small human colonies. Then, his terminal alerted him to a new message from Krokon...
Psych: A scumbag. While Bratin is still somewhat of a patriot, although money always comes first. He shows prejudice towards humans, preferring to target human colonies for slaves, and has absolutely no problem with retaining slavery in Batarian space and will attempt to expand the practice if good profit's involved. He's a strict commander, after all he has to be in order to retain discipline over a pirate crew without being overly brutal. And it should be mentioned, that he's completely ruthless and WILL chase you all over the galaxy if you really pissed him off or have something he want's.
Important Figures: Krokon Khamkobar
-Rumored agent of the Hegemonies Special Intervention Unit.
-Experienced infiltrator and intelligence gatherer.
-Really doesn't like humans, to the point where even Bretin sometimes get's uncomfortable.
Personal history: like Bratin, little is known about Krokon's personal history. But unlike Bratin, who you can just peg down as generic Batarian Slaver #4235, Krokon's a bit different. For one, during the Anhur Rebellions, he was apart of the Na'hesit Secret Police and had a profile that claimed he was a native who was raised in the capital city, seemingly living a generic life until rising to the top of his classes and then getting offered a position in the military. To a untrained eye, this would appear real. But if you were to dig deeper, you'd find holes in his life.
To say nothing of the fact that he seemingly popped out of nowhere shortly after the Rebellions began. Eclipse interrogations of top Na'hesit officials do indeed confirm that most of them never even had even heard of him before the war, but did find his experience in espionage and intelligence gathering excellent. But while his past remains shrouded in mystery, there are first hand accounts of him being in the Na'hesit Secret Police, which consistently described him as being competent and seemingly dedicated to the cause of the Batarians. The accounts also described his hatred for humans, which often became downright obsessive.
For example; there was a official warning to keep Human slaves out of his sight on his profile lest they want property damages, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. During the war, he had a impressive record, providing valuable information about both the Rebels movements, and Eclipses plans. But even; the tide turned against the Na'hesit, and like many Batarian's trapped on Anhur, he sought a means of escape. Bratin, a Pirate who made a bit of a reputation during the war, offered a way off world for any Batarian soldiers wanting to escape the Eclipse siege.
Krokon saw his chance and signed on his crew; impressing Krokon with both his military experience, and his excellent ability at intelligence gathering. Finally culminating in Bratin making Krokon his second in command after Krokon proved his skill in combat during a raid on a research outpost. Now Krokon gathers information for Bratin, regularly sending new information on potential targets and jobs. He just stumbled across one that could be the opportunity of a lifetime...
Psych: cold, and calculating. Those two words would perfectly describe Krokon if he didn't have a hatred for humans, which is xenophobic even by Batarian standards. He's also vengeful, being noticeably brutal to those who wronged him. He also possesses a sense of patrioism for the Hegemony, which particularly shows whenever they take a contract that directly helps the Hegemony.
Organisation Specialisation: Piracy and slave trading.
Organisation Type: Pirate crew.
-They often skirt the line between Pirate and Terrorist quite often, to the point where a man from the 17'th Century would call them Privateers.
Organisation Income Source: There are two main sources. first, they regularly raid colonies for resources, slaves, and artifacts that they sell for credits. They are also 'unofficially' sponsored by the Hegemony themselves, and they may get a bonus depending on how much they hurt the Systems Alliance..
Legality: Extremely illegal. They can only operate within the Terminus Systems, and are rogues 'officially' banned from Hegemony space.
Organisation Base: Officially. A hideout on the planet Karora. The hideout itself is a small domed habitat capable of holding two cruisers, has a GUARDIAN defense system, and is capable of holding at least 30 people at a time. The lunar habitat holds a docking bay, living quarters, a armory, and even a small greenhouse capable of sustaining the hideout if the supply line ever get's disrupted. The habitat also contains a computer network, where Krokon regularly decrypts information dug up by Bratin and sends him intel about potential targets.
-However Bratin prefers his personal frigate, "the Jewel of Lorek" as his personal base of operations, instead preferring to use the Noa hideout as a safehouse or a supply dump.
Organisation Assets:
-"The Jewel of Lorek" frigate. A rather advanced frigate that wanders the Traverse, preying on Merchants, and often other pirates. It sometimes raids small colonies and research stations that make easy targets. The frigate appears is of Human design, but it's original registration is currently unknown.
*It's engines are superior to most found in the galaxy, allowing the Jewel to move faster than most vessels.
-"Balaks Tooth" frigate. A old beat up Turian frigate that preys on ships that pass through the Amada system. Often joins the Jewel in raids.
-Two cargo ships brought along to transport slaves taken in raids.
-Batarian Pirates.
-Na'heist intel.
-Karoa hideout.
-'Unofficial' funding from the Hegemony.
Organisation Relations: What are your relations with the other player Organisations? This should be discussed with the player who the Organisation belongs to, and can be anything from working partnership to worst enemies or somewhere in between. Perhaps you don’t even know their name.
Organisation History: Formed by low time Batarian raider, Bratin Bob'namon shortly after the Skillian Blitz, the raiders have terrorized the Terminus systems for the last two years. The raiders started out as just another minor pirate band that preyed on small merchant's and weak colonies, with unofficial support from the Batarian Hegemony. With the Raiders sometimes joining other Batarian slavers in great raids on Human fringe colonies, and keeping track of alliance survey teams in case of a potential new target. But things changed during the Anhur rebellions; the raiders supported the Batarian government, and took part in several raids on Eclipse Bases and joined in the Battle of Neith.
The raiders finally proved themselves when they successfully disabled and boarded a rather advanced Eclipse Frigate during Eclipses retreat. This Frigate wasn't scrapped, and instead became Bretins new flagship, becoming the "Jewel of Lorek." With the Anhur rebellions turning against the Na'hesit, Bretin decided to use his new found wealth to build a safehouse in a isolated system, while at the same time expanding his operations. During this period, Krokon joined the raiders after the fall of the Na'hesit, impressing Bretin with his military experience, and quickly becoming his second in command.
Now the Raiders are slowly growing and expanding, with Bretin even pondering expanding his small fleet. He pondered where he'd get the funds as business has been a bit dry of late, but then Krokon dug up the chance of a lifetime.
Just tell me if I need to fix anything.
Edit: added details about the Jewel. And yes, I do intend on fleshing out my leaders now that I have the go-ahead. :)
Edit 2: added details about Bratin. I'll do Krokon tomorrow.
