Crystal Platoon - How To Take a Planet
Lapton is a beautiful planet, but beauty comes with a price. The planet is thriving with bandit groups, and there has been evidence that one is starting to come on top of them all. Criminals imported to the planet to work off their crimes have been escaping frequently. Townsteads have come under attack, some even working with the bandits and supporting their cause, either by force or by their own will. Even on the inside, many officials are corrupt, from the council of the planet down to the Civil Guard, the 'army' that every planet has that can easily be related to a glorified police force. Lapton is falling apart. The governor of the planet, because of the council, has limited power, and with that power he has called for help.
That's why we are here.
It has been decided that Lazarus Company, a military company of hard-trained marines that can fight in anything from zero-g space to the hot surface of a planet outside the habitable zone of stars, will be sent to Lapton in order to restore order to the planet.

Information
We will be playing as members inside Crystal Platoon, a platoon within the marine company known as Lazarus Company. This RP will involve times of action and certainly times of story, as what would an RP be without story? As we work forward, we will be restoring the planet to being safe and habitable.
I'll be playing as the Platoon leader and perhaps also a marine within the platoon, as well as most likely high-up NPCs. You guys can play as anything below the platoon leader. Just note some things:
You don't want to play as a shy little recruit. Marines are specially selected troopers from boot camp, and they work for a few years in a training enviroment made to be extremely realistic, to the point where some marines have been injured to the point of medical discharge just from training. That being said, you can play as a cheerful happy character, just don't make your character act like he/she doesn't know anything or is scared of combat. Marines are strong troopers.
On the topic of training, you
can have specialist training. Marines are generally known for being able to use a wide variety of weapons and have a variety of skills. Let's put it this way: You
can have a specialisation in marksmanship or sniping, however what that means is that you are better than the others at it. Other examples include anti-tank, spotter (For sniper, etc.), machinegunner etc. It generally means you'll be first-pick for those jobs, but you may not always get those roles. On the other hand, a specialisation such as medic will be valuable: Troopers may have training in first-aid, but they won't know the full extent of medical treatment, etc. Other examples of this include the knowledge of how to properly use a mortar, in-depth analysis, etc. I
will not accept anyone that says they have a specialisation in squad leading, team leading etc. That comes with rank, and rank comes with the amount of time you have put into the marine corps and is affected by other factors such as how cocky you are, how much you have screwed up and if you are a general asshat. If you're a bad little kiddie, you won't be getting up the ranks anytime soon. Also, don't put in that you have a specialisation in piloting. You joined the marines, not the navy.
Any other information is available as long as you ask. If you don't ask, you don't get, cha?
So, I'm interested to see how many people are interested in this. I'm not going to put a character sheet here yet, but if there is enough interest I may put one here, or in the OOC if I decide to make it before the sheet.
Oh, and this is loosely based off
The Empire's Corps by Christopher Nuttall. If you haven't read it, don't worry, it's only loosely based off of it, and you don't need to know
anything about it. Only that marines are awesome.
