Background:
Born into a military family, Gwen was an airforce brat from when she was born. Living on base at AFB Laughlin in Texas was unlike what many experiences, the average American usually lives in a city or in the suburbs. While for Gwen it was in a small pre-fabricated house on base with her family. Early on in her life, Gwen followed loosely in the footsteps of her father, he was a security forces officer in the airforce while her mother in a town nearby as a pharmacist. Gwen went to school in town Del Rio where she found her nerdy gift for computers, well gaming it depends on how you want to look at it.
Growing up into her teens Gwen was a gamer, but she had a passion for computers which led to her joining a variety of clubs in high school. The computer science club, the robotics club where she ended up creating a battle bot that would crush the skull of WR-0NG the battle bot of Del Rio's rival high school, the Christian high school. Within her high school years, she had run-ins with the police, she thought she had been slick. Using her abilities to code she was phishing people's credit card information online through a fake site to an online game. She was not enough clever to cover up her digital footprint as the local police along with the MPs came knocking on her door.
She could have faced jail time, maybe it was the strings her dad to pull but she was given a suspended sentence and a second chance at society. That being said Gwen wasn't necessarily evil, but just an opportunist looking to make some easy cash. After her run-in with the law, her father made sure to keep a close eye on her, almost becoming controlling over her life. Gwen attended the University of Texas for cybersecurity, she didn't know it but she would end up joining the airforce after her degree. She had plans to start her own cybersecurity firm, but after a falling out with her father she joined up to get away from him.
After she completed her basic training and technical training she didn't get her to wish and was posted out to an airforce base in San Antonio where she would join the 67th Cyberspace Operations Group. She would work out of San Antonio for a while where she would be conducting various cyber-security operations, notably working on a cyber-offensive program that would have the capability of compromising enemy radio communications by interfering with the frequency of digital radios. However, the program was scrapped for seemingly unknown reasons.
Over the few years she was in the airforce she would climb the ranks to a lowly E-4 as a Senior Airman, most recently she came back from a deployment from Iraq as she assisted ground troops with cyber intelligence. Cracking into emails of insurgent leaders and assisting with tracking and identifying HVTs for drone strikes, and a little bit of drone fuckery. Life was good for a meager E-4 but it could be way better.
Her experience from the occult stems from a cyber-hacking operation stateside, the operation involved compromising Chinese military assets. Little did Gwen know but the Chinese had a shaman on their side, the shaman summoned occult forces to kill the cyber operators - through the computers. One reached threw and dragged a Airman through the computer, never to be seen again. A few more tried to grab others with a variety of success, Gwen managed to get away from the computer before she became, digital - for life.
She was debriefed by two men in black, she was given two simple options. Shut up forever, or die or become some kind of special SIGINT operator. Gwen took the latter and joined up, learning of this digital shaman of the new age. She would take place in an op via drone uplink above the province of Fujian in China, a few missiles later and the target - an old warehouse was leveled. The shaman was marked up as KIA, no one could survive 4 drone missiles, right?
Personality:
Usually, bubbly and talkative Gwen simply likes to keep her presence positive and in good spirits when she is around people, it's just in her nature to give good vibes or at least try to. She isn't really put off by twisted or dark things, she quite enjoys dark humor and that sort of comedy. She has been browsing the dark web since she was a teenager and she's stumbled upon deaths and grotesque material before. That being said she hasn't been the one to witness a death live or be in any combat situation.
Gwen can be cocky when it comes to competition, she likes to think she is the best of her craft. The master hacker, the wittiest among the witty. She can come off as brash or sometimes rude because of how she conducts her behavior. When the shit hits the fan, she does get quite serious and sometimes quiet depending on how much is on the line. She does like to get quiet when she gets deep into her work
