Welcome to my little personal den of Hell! Sorry, sorry, I meant my personal profile. Same thing, right?
I'm a roleplayer, same as any around here. I've been doing it for about five years now, coming up to six in September. Its been quite the time, thinking back. I started out fresh as can be, understanding the basics of writing but never quite knowing how to become better, or become as great as those around me. In the end, I did the only thing I really knew at the time:
Write as much garbage as possible and hope for the best!
As you can see, that particular tactic fucking failed. Jokes aside, I like to think I've developed a lot over the years, both as a writer and as a person. However, absolutely nothing can dissuade my weeaboo ways and supporting my OTP with all that I can freaking muster! If you haven't already guessed, said OTP is Chrom x Robin (Chrobin) from Fire Emblem: Awakening. Highly recommend the game, there's a reason (other than nintendo's cheapskate attitude) that it hasn't dropped in price, it's honestly the best place to start off in the series. And hey, maybe you'll end up addicted like me and want to buy every game on the 3DS like a fucking loony?
Speaking of loonies, the Fire Emblem Chrobin Comic Dub Project has recently finished, so for those of you who also appreciate the best ship in existence, I highly recommend it. Hell, even if you're not interested in that, I do highly recommend watching it for those into fantasy love stories. The quality improves drastically with each episode, so trust me when I say by the end of it you should be thoroughly impressed. It has helped motivate me in ways I can hardly describe with words, and so I thought the least I could do was put this out there. Maybe it's not for everyone, but I know it was the perfect thing for me.
"Do you think you can tip any of the scales in here?" "Chrom, for the love of Naga, I'm thinking..."
"So I heard."
"There are better places to take a nap than on the ground, you know."
There is a universe. No-one knows it's name, where gravity wasn't strong enough to bind matter together and no stars formed. And because no stars formed, no stars exploded. And because no stars exploded, no planets came about. And because no planets came about, there was no life.
There's another universe, no one knows it's name, where gravity was strong enough and did light the stars and planets came about and boy, they were gorgeous, planets in perpetual winter, planets in perpetual summer, planets that could rival the Garden of Eden and no bloody snakes! And on one of them, eventually, complex life evolved and one of the species developed large brains learned things like manners and dabbing, when they looked up at the stars and wonder what they were doing here. You called them octopuses, I suppose. Gosh, they were clever, for octopuses, and one of them, several million years in, almost wrote something in ink on the seafloor, a message to its friend. And the message almost read: "Hi! How are you?" And a few millennia later, space folder back on itself and, you get the idea. Goodbye Octopi.
There's another universe, where life formed on every planet, in every solar system, and it was carbon-based, it was silicon based, it was made of crystals and water and plasma, it was made of quantum fields and light, and everything was alive, everything was doing a boogie, and it was everybody's birthday, everyday, relatively, and everyone got presents, and they had over a trillion languages, some written down, some only spoken, some conducted telepathically, and they bought a galactic civilization together, as a perfect unity, sharing stories, sharing technology, speaking a common tongue, understanding everything about how the cosmos been put together. And finally, when everything was sorted, the galaxies were arranged into perfect geometric formations, transmitting pure love, and wisdom, and birthday greetings to all species in the universe, for all time. Papercuts never happened, coke came in glass bottles, no one even remembered the word for war, everything was beautiful and nothing hurt.
And yet, for a quirk in their evolution, because resources weren't scarce enough on the planets these species developed on, not a single creature in the universe was conscious. Food was eaten and no-one enjoyed it. Movies were released, and there was no laughing, or crying. No-one chuckled at a joke. Ever. Space collapsed back on itself, eventually, and there hadn't been a single moment of sentience in the entire history of creation.
There's another universe, where the strong force is too strong the weak force is too weak and nothing forms. Another, where life develops too late when the Stars have all gone beyond the light boundary and there's nothing to even see. Another with too many dimensions. Another with not enough. Another where time goes in the opposite direction, and species begin as gods, and wind backwards to cells, and never learn to survive. Another that only lasts milliseconds, and collapses in on itself, and heads straight back to oblivion. And that's how it just might be, across all possible universes, across all possible space times. Problems with the laws of nature, not enough resources, missteps in evolution. An atlas of dead-ends.
Then again, there is one exception.
There's another universe, a big one, where life is rare, where intelligent life is very rare indeed, the stars are very distant from each other, the laws of nature are very complex, it's extremely lonely for any species developing, and most never even develop at all, but somewhere, we believe, is a planet where the oceans are vast, and the climate is varied. Where the smartest species on the planet may have developed just the right mix of ambition and kindness. And if you were to travel there, to this unbelievably rare statistical anomaly, to this impossibly lucky planet, where evolution, biology, chemistry, nae, the laws of physics themselves have come together to create sentient intelligent life, you may be able to catch the native inhabitants singing for joy. Of what an impossibly lucky, and rare position they find themselves in. It is a chant of gratitude, a ritual of showing appreciation for ending up in perhaps the one universe, in the one solar system, on the one planet with all the basic ingredients for intelligent, conscious life.
@ShwiggityShwah Thanks for letting me know, I wasn't sure if I should respond c: I'll be sure to have him addressed though so you have something to react to XD
@Metronome Good question! As I mentioned in that post I basically copy-pasted her here, so I'm not sure she'd be viable in the first place :D I'll see what I can come up with, otherwise I can make something new c:
Name: Eliott Reider / Seven Quote: "I have learned things in the dark that I could never have learned in the light, things that have saved my life over and over again, so that there is really only one logical conclusion. I need darkness as much as I need light." - Barbara Brown Taylor Alias: Blackout Age: 21 Gender: Female
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈
Abilities: Shadow Rending - The manipulation of shadows, specifically to help mask oneself. Eliott can conceal her body in complete darkness, silence her footsteps, and make occasional bursts of speed in an anointed direction. Her primary power is paralyzing people by ripping out their shadow. Nobody knows quite how this works, but it can leave opponents vulnerable momentarily. Weaknesses: Physically Weak - Although Eliott is pretty well-trained, she isn't all that powerful. In terms of offence and defence she can't hold her own, unless she's running away or hiding. She desperately wants to learn some kind of self defence with her power, however isn't sure if it is even possible. Heat Detection; Scent Detection - She's invisible to sight and sound, not smell and touch. She is especially wary of the police because of this. Equipment: Stun Batons - Eliott has two stun batons which she can use to quickly incapacitate enemies, made back when she first operated as a member of Ark. The batons have the option to turn the shock mechanism on or off. Smoke Grenades - For when Eliott needs to make a quick escape or cause a distraction, these babies come in handy. She has a small stock of them at home, though they'll be running out soon. Stun Gun - This semi-auto pistol-looking taser allows Eliott to electrocute and incapacitate those at a distance (50m). It is custom-made and fires what is essentially paintballs which have been electrically charged. The magazine carries eight balls and the gun is prone to jamming, so she tries not to use it often.
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈
Bio: Until ten years ago, Eliott Reider didn't actually exist. There were no records, no parents, and nobody that went by that name. However there was a girl who looked a lot like Eliott. Her name was Seven.
Like all people in this world, Seven was conceived and born the human way. Her mother adored her, her father loved her, yet neither love nor adoration can save you in a car crash. She was orphaned at two years old, being one of the unlucky babies not chosen for adoption. She stayed an orphan for two more years, till she was adopted by an elderly scientist, a man who would later call himself "Father John". A man who would erase the name she once knew, and give her the name she now knew best: Seven.
There were twenty-seven more children in the building with white walls, white coats, white doors, each only slightly older or slightly younger than Seven. She connected with three others: Eleven, Four, and Eighteen. Eleven and Four were boys, Eighteen being another girl. Despite how different each of them were, they shared a common denominator which made each of them identical in the eyes of Father John and his team: They were Gaps. Gaps being those that fit neither mutant superhuman nor regular human. They were rare children afflicted with a rare condition which resulted in a lack of genetic code for superpowers. In other words, for them there wasn't an "on" for mutant powers or an "off" for standard human written in their genetic code. There was a gap.
They were tested on because of this. Gifted the powers of extraordinary humans through genetic manipulation, the children were subject to tests. Tests, false promises of painlessness, and heartbreak. Many former friends died when exposed to their inherited power. Technology had not advanced far enough to save the unlucky or unfit. However, those that survived were much stronger than their former selves. They could do things no normal human could. They became incredibly powerful.
For six years they withstood the tests. Numbers were counted down, till those that remained could be counted on your fingers. Seven, Eleven, Four, Eighteen, Thirteen, Twenty-Two, Twenty, Nine, Twelve. Eventually, Seven broke out. Along with her friends, they ran and ran and never looked back, using their powers to escape. They hid in LA, survived in LA, became people again in LA. They went to school, got adopted by good folk, and lived their lives like normal people. But they weren't normal. The guilt of leaving those behind, forgotten, ate away at them
Four years ago, Ark was created. Today it resurfaces to bring about what it couldn't in LA after its year-long run. To make sure the same mistakes are not repeated, Seven has started the operation alone, her only friends gone after losing Eighteen. This is to make sure nobody gets hurt. That the only one who could be held responsible being herself. To make sure nobody she cares about dies again. Ark will succeed in its mission. It will scare and terrorise, but never kill. It will get what it wants before injustice can be dealt. It needs to succeed this time.
It has to. Eliott herself is rather shy and withdrawn. She doesn't like speaking up or making her presence known, instead being a silent observer to the world. That is, unless a book has caught her interest. She reads books religiously, always trying to expand her knowledge or otherwise read something fun. She enjoys the activity very much and usually visits the university library between classes to read. She does have a bit of a nerd side too, and prefers spending time home alone playing games than social interactions, though isn't completely against nor afraid of them.
When operating as Blackout, Eliott's personality does a complete 180. She goes from the shy academic bookworm to the insane acrobatic joker. Blackout is completely carefree when it comes to showing off, which she does quite a bit, trying to do good on her phantom vigilante image. In fact she cares rather deeply about her image and how she, as well as the rest of Ark, is seen by the public, in an effort to make sure her motives can be identified and not mislabeled as a villain. Blackout is cocky and thinks very highly of herself, however is also incredibly cautious.
I have a character pre-made for another superhero RP which never took off. Though, she was more the vigilante type and would probably have a shock collar on her, for safety reasons. Former-terrorist turned-hero type of deal. That cool? :D
You don't have to worry about splitting up the party on my account. Encounters for the entire city of Pinch Pols have been written and are not relying on you having all party members present...I've been prepping for this game for a long time.
Don't say that! I'll try and make you have to improvise, otherwise! XD

"We were fighting in a state of realism, sir, without our proper equipment. It is rather difficult to not get hit when you have armor as heavy as mine on your shoulders." The Dark Knight already knew Illyarion wouldn't take this as an excuse, but at least wanted to try get her point across anyway. His armor wasn't nearly as heavy as hers, and while he surely would still be quite mobile even with her armor, it wouldn't be enough to stop the former mercenary completely. "That isn't to say I won't master how to not get hurt one day, it's just I need more practice."
Maryvale made sure to silence herself as the princess began reading the note, as attentive as ever. Unlike her mentor, she actually listened to the apothecary, though she knew it wouldn't take long for Sir Myriavin's patience to go out the window. Azymn shot a disapproving glance at Illyarion and sighed, before attempting to remedy the situation. "Please don't try to roughhouse my future doctor too much. I'm sure the Grand Marshal will explain. We shouldn't keep him waiting any longer, so let us make haste, yes?"
It was only a short walk to the armory, with it being by the entrance of the palace itself. Inside, a variety of chests, stands, and lockers filled the room, some displaying weapons and armor, some with labels and the contents within. One such locker, titled "Retainer Maryvale", housed the suit of armor the Dark Knight had become accustomed to, as well as her personal blade. Azymn had already collected her own battle dress, and as such, was in need of only her blade: Consaire.
The two went into a private room to help Maryvale get the armor on, leaving the rest to do as they would for about ten minutes. As they emerged, the two looked like they were ready for combat, capable, and prepared. "The Grand Marshal will likely be waiting in the War Room nearby." Azymn spoke with clarity and conviction, as though a general giving orders. She certainly could pull it off, if need be. "If not there, then likely the Marble View above. I take it everyone is prepared?" Nods all around. "Very well. Then let us be off."
The group of individuals who followed the princess were now quite large indeed, from Illyarion's band of Ravenguard to those who protected the palace personally, Maryvale included. All followed after their guide without question, and all would eventually answer to the Grand Marshal, Azymn herself included. The Grand Marshal, as Illyarion and Maryvale both knew him, was a wise man with a gifted sense for battle tactics. To those he saw potential in, he gave chances, and in return they would give loyalty to him first, the kingdom second. Many under his command didn't necessarily respect Kron-Nesis nor its royalty, but would live and die by the words of the Grand Marshal. He, unlike many other commanders, was kind, hence his eventual (and some would call inevitable) rise in rank. Though some would consider this a weakness, his gifted sense of tactics has always lead to an outcome of very few casualties, even if it would mean a lesser victory.
Under his guidance, Kron-Nesis' army has grown the largest it has been in decades, with formidable warriors filling each and every rank. Though not entirely due to him alone, it is in no small part that the Grand Marshal's influence has been a contributing factor in this growth. And now, Azymn and her company were right outside the War Room, where such a man would be waiting. The swift knock came not from Azymn, but from Maryvale, her covered glove making a rather audible rap. She added: "Father? If you are in there, it is I, Maryvale. We have come at your request, and include company."
... There was silence. "You may come in." Maryvale gave a nod to those present, and the doors swung open...
Before them stood the Grand Marshal, the one man who oversaw every military action Kron-Nesis would make. He stood overlooking a map of the entire continent, pins and figures set about to symbolize what one could only assume were real units. He seemed to be looking over the map, and began shifting pieces, apparently deep in thought. He looked up for a moment, then back down at the map. "I see you're not alone, Maryvale. Good."
He looked over the map some more, gently rubbing his head, as though he had a headache. Finally he looked up to address the group, picking out faces of particular interest. "Illyarion, how have you been doing, friend? I hope the winds have been keeping you alive and well, as well as your Ravenguard. It is good to have you." His attention turned to Pox. "And the renowned apothecary. Pox, I believe?" There was a pause. "There's no need to hold him hostage. He has been vouched for."

Maybe it's not for everyone, but I know it was the perfect thing for me.<br>	<br><br>	<br>	</div></th></tr></thead></table></div><br><img src="https://alynerd.files.wordpress.com/2015/10/tumblr_nvrmdwbdkf1ruyji8o1_1280.jpg?w=840" /><br><br><div class="bb-right"><font color="darkblue">"Do you think you can tip any of the scales in here?"</font><br><font color="purple">"Chrom, for the love of Naga, I'm thinking..."</font></div><hr class="bb-hr"><div class="table-responsive"><table class="bb-table table"><thead class="bb-thead"><tr class="bb-tr"><th class="bb-th"><font color="darkblue">"So I heard."<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	</font></th><th class="bb-th"><div class="bb-center"><img src="https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DkvxGnlWwAEShes.jpg" /></div></th><th class="bb-th"><div class="bb-right"><font color="purple">"There are better places<br>to take a nap than <br>on the ground, you know."<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	</font></div></th></tr></thead></table></div><div class="hider-panel"><div class="hider-heading"><button type="button" class="btn btn-default btn-xs hider-button" data-name="A Hymn For Goldilocks">A Hymn For Goldilocks [+]</button></div><div class="hider-body" style="display: none"><div class="bb-center"><img src="https://static.tumblr.com/b572f57912d8b5345269f9dc72e04359/yveunmd/zEwn8f4ke/tumblr_static_4fc6jqggm90kg048ok0kkw0ww_640_v2.jpg" /></div><br><br>There is a universe. No-one knows it's name, where gravity wasn't strong enough to bind matter together and no stars formed. And because no stars formed, no stars exploded. And because no stars exploded, no planets came about. And because no planets came about, there was no life.<br><br>There's another universe, no one knows it's name, where gravity was strong enough and did light the stars and planets came about and boy, they were gorgeous, planets in perpetual winter, planets in perpetual summer, planets that could rival the Garden of Eden and no bloody snakes! <br>Goodbye Octopi.<br><br>There's another universe, where life formed on every planet, in every solar system, and it was carbon-based, it was silicon based, it was made of crystals and water and plasma, it was made of quantum fields and light, and everything was alive, everything was doing a boogie, and it was everybody's birthday, everyday, relatively, and everyone got presents, and they had over a trillion languages, some written down, some only spoken, some conducted telepathically, and they bought a galactic civilization together, as a perfect unity, sharing stories, sharing technology, speaking a common tongue, understanding everything about how the cosmos been put together. <br><br>And yet, for a quirk in their evolution, because resources weren't scarce enough on the planets these species developed on, not a single creature in the universe was conscious. Food was eaten and no-one enjoyed it. Movies were released, and there was no laughing, or crying. No-one chuckled at a joke. Ever.<br>Space collapsed back on itself, eventually, and there hadn't been a single moment of sentience in the entire history of creation.<br><br>There's another universe, where the strong force is too strong the weak force is too weak and nothing forms.<br>Another, where life develops too late when the Stars have all gone beyond the light boundary and there's nothing to even see. <br>Another with too many dimensions.<br>Another with not enough.<br>Another where time goes in the opposite direction, and species begin as gods, and wind backwards to cells, and never learn<br>to survive.<br>Another that only lasts milliseconds, and collapses in on itself, and heads straight back to oblivion.<br>And that's how it just might be, across all possible universes, across all possible space times. Problems with the laws of nature, not enough resources, missteps in evolution.<br>An atlas of dead-ends.<br><br>Then again, there is one exception.<br><br>There's another universe, a big one, where life is rare, where intelligent life is very rare indeed, the stars are very distant from each other, the laws of nature are very complex, it's extremely lonely for any species developing, and most never even develop at all, but somewhere, we believe, is a planet where the oceans are vast, and the climate is varied. Where the smartest species on the planet may have developed just the right mix of ambition and kindness.<br>And if you were to travel there, to this unbelievably rare statistical anomaly, to this impossibly lucky planet, where evolution, biology, chemistry, nae, the laws of physics themselves have come together to create sentient intelligent life, you may be able to catch the native inhabitants singing for joy. Of what an impossibly lucky, and rare position they find themselves in. <br>It is a chant of gratitude, a ritual of showing appreciation for ending up in perhaps the one universe, in the one solar system, on the one planet with all the basic ingredients for intelligent, conscious life.<br><br>~Exurb1a</div></div></div>
