and me.
Welcome to my little personal den of Hell! Sorry, sorry, I meant my personal profile. Same thing, right?
I'm a roleplayer, same as any around here. I've been doing it for about five years now, coming up to six in September. Its been quite the time, thinking back. I started out fresh as can be, understanding the basics of writing but never quite knowing how to become better, or become as great as those around me. In the end, I did the only thing I really knew at the time:
Write as much garbage as possible and hope for the best!
As you can see, that particular tactic fucking failed. Jokes aside, I like to think I've developed a lot over the years, both as a writer and as a person. However, absolutely nothing can dissuade my weeaboo ways and supporting my OTP with all that I can freaking muster! If you haven't already guessed, said OTP is Chrom x Robin (Chrobin) from Fire Emblem: Awakening. Highly recommend the game, there's a reason (other than nintendo's cheapskate attitude) that it hasn't dropped in price, it's honestly the best place to start off in the series. And hey, maybe you'll end up addicted like me and want to buy every game on the 3DS like a fucking loony?
Speaking of loonies, the Fire Emblem Chrobin Comic Dub Project has recently finished, so for those of you who also appreciate the best ship in existence, I highly recommend it. Hell, even if you're not interested in that, I do highly recommend watching it for those into fantasy love stories. The quality improves drastically with each episode, so trust me when I say by the end of it you should be thoroughly impressed. It has helped motivate me in ways I can hardly describe with words, and so I thought the least I could do was put this out there. Maybe it's not for everyone, but I know it was the perfect thing for me.
"Do you think you can tip any of the scales in here?" "Chrom, for the love of Naga, I'm thinking..."
"So I heard."
"There are better places to take a nap than on the ground, you know."
There is a universe. No-one knows it's name, where gravity wasn't strong enough to bind matter together and no stars formed. And because no stars formed, no stars exploded. And because no stars exploded, no planets came about. And because no planets came about, there was no life.
There's another universe, no one knows it's name, where gravity was strong enough and did light the stars and planets came about and boy, they were gorgeous, planets in perpetual winter, planets in perpetual summer, planets that could rival the Garden of Eden and no bloody snakes! And on one of them, eventually, complex life evolved and one of the species developed large brains learned things like manners and dabbing, when they looked up at the stars and wonder what they were doing here. You called them octopuses, I suppose. Gosh, they were clever, for octopuses, and one of them, several million years in, almost wrote something in ink on the seafloor, a message to its friend. And the message almost read: "Hi! How are you?" And a few millennia later, space folder back on itself and, you get the idea. Goodbye Octopi.
There's another universe, where life formed on every planet, in every solar system, and it was carbon-based, it was silicon based, it was made of crystals and water and plasma, it was made of quantum fields and light, and everything was alive, everything was doing a boogie, and it was everybody's birthday, everyday, relatively, and everyone got presents, and they had over a trillion languages, some written down, some only spoken, some conducted telepathically, and they bought a galactic civilization together, as a perfect unity, sharing stories, sharing technology, speaking a common tongue, understanding everything about how the cosmos been put together. And finally, when everything was sorted, the galaxies were arranged into perfect geometric formations, transmitting pure love, and wisdom, and birthday greetings to all species in the universe, for all time. Papercuts never happened, coke came in glass bottles, no one even remembered the word for war, everything was beautiful and nothing hurt.
And yet, for a quirk in their evolution, because resources weren't scarce enough on the planets these species developed on, not a single creature in the universe was conscious. Food was eaten and no-one enjoyed it. Movies were released, and there was no laughing, or crying. No-one chuckled at a joke. Ever. Space collapsed back on itself, eventually, and there hadn't been a single moment of sentience in the entire history of creation.
There's another universe, where the strong force is too strong the weak force is too weak and nothing forms. Another, where life develops too late when the Stars have all gone beyond the light boundary and there's nothing to even see. Another with too many dimensions. Another with not enough. Another where time goes in the opposite direction, and species begin as gods, and wind backwards to cells, and never learn to survive. Another that only lasts milliseconds, and collapses in on itself, and heads straight back to oblivion. And that's how it just might be, across all possible universes, across all possible space times. Problems with the laws of nature, not enough resources, missteps in evolution. An atlas of dead-ends.
Then again, there is one exception.
There's another universe, a big one, where life is rare, where intelligent life is very rare indeed, the stars are very distant from each other, the laws of nature are very complex, it's extremely lonely for any species developing, and most never even develop at all, but somewhere, we believe, is a planet where the oceans are vast, and the climate is varied. Where the smartest species on the planet may have developed just the right mix of ambition and kindness. And if you were to travel there, to this unbelievably rare statistical anomaly, to this impossibly lucky planet, where evolution, biology, chemistry, nae, the laws of physics themselves have come together to create sentient intelligent life, you may be able to catch the native inhabitants singing for joy. Of what an impossibly lucky, and rare position they find themselves in. It is a chant of gratitude, a ritual of showing appreciation for ending up in perhaps the one universe, in the one solar system, on the one planet with all the basic ingredients for intelligent, conscious life.
Gonna actually flesh out an app for the princess, since i don't recall making one c: unless i did and i'm an idiot.
Edit 2: Apps Going to put the WIP apps here. I'll be posting all these apps to the character section once they're completed. They're using Maryvale's template so if you're wondering why half of their sheet is her sheet, it'll be edited when I have more time c:
❰ FEMALE ⟡ EARLY - MID 20s ⟡ PRINCESS ❱
T I T L E S
The Royal Princess of Kron-Nesis; Royal Apprentice of the Iceblade.

Full-blooded Human Royal

Princess Azymn is no slouch when it comes to fighting, though she hasn't had any real practical experience in a field. In spite of having the literal strongest knight in her service, she feels as though she shouldn't rely solely on her retainer, a sentiment the Grand Marshal of Kron-Nesis agrees with. She has training in swordplay and ice magic, though is the most proficient in healing, taking up the role due to her retainer's major weakness. In spite of this, she should not be underestimated, particularly her intelligence.
E Q U I P M E N T
A royal blade passed down throughout the generations, Consaire is a timeless gift bestowed upon the royal family, to cement their position as fair and just rulers. Said to have been forged by a dragon long ago, Consaire maintains a blade which has yet to rust, and while the hilt and handle have changed over the years, the sword itself supposedly remains as great as it was when first forged from dragonfire. The large gem at the hilt's center is said to contain the strength of those who have wielded it before, uniting the hands of all those who have touched it.
◈ Corall Dress Armor: Azymn's Corall Dress acts both as formal attire and armour, and is in high demand among the nobility of Kron-Nesis. Made from various corals' of the two southern seas, Corall Dress boasts some unique properties unlike other types of armour. In particular, it has a refined look to it, which really can't be replicated easily with metals. It is soft like silk, yet hardens in response to blunt and pierce impacts, increasing the durability. With all the different pieces it can be hard to enchant, and isn't more durable than most metal armours, but for nobles it is usually worth the investment.
S P E L L S K I L L S
◈ Healing: Azymn is a proficient healer, having learned the art from a young age as an extension of her hobby in gardening. What started as a simple way to help maintain her beautiful garden ended up saving the life of her future retainer, Maryvale Reyes, and she has stuck to practising the art ever since. Seeing her retainer work so hard has helped push Azymn's own self to learn more, though she is held back through her multi-magics study.
◈ Ice: Suggested to her by the Grand Marshal, Azymn has taken up the art of Ice Creationism: creating structures out of ice. Though she has only recently picked up the art, she has learned a lot in the few years she has studied it, and can create a variety of forms out of ice. It also helps that she seems to have a natural talent for it. She has even taken up the specialised form of casting ice magic using a blade -- an Iceblade -- both to imitate as well as rival Maryvale.
O T H E R S K I L L S
◈ Noble Charism: Being a princess, Azymn is no stranger to royal matters. She knows how to speak to people of all walks of life, though given her royal background, typically speaks to others as a superior. While it is demanded in her role, she doesn't particularly enjoy speaking so formally all the time, and enjoys conversations with the lower classes every now and again from a place of equal footing. She knows how to rally spirits, and has an acute sense that picks up on social cues others might otherwise miss.
◈ Intelligence: Kron-Nesis, rich as it is, doesn't skimp out when it comes to tutors, and the princess' tutor was no exception. She seems to know a great many things, be it foreign culture and diplomacy, history, battle tactics, complex mathematics, various sciences, magic, painting, fashion, gardening, social decency, and a little bit of everything you can think of.

Maryvale's story begins young. She has no memory of her parents, and no real memory of her childhood. She knows she was taken in by strangers, but was left in the streets to fend for herself. The city of Dou didn't take well to beggars, thieves and poor. Maryvale, being a mix of all three, was an outcast. She was caught by the city guard when she was seven, and made to serve for a week. She had nobody to fall back on after her arrest, if there was anyone before. She resigned herself to fate, giving up on life, starving in the backstreets of Dou. There was no God who could save her. No person willing to care.
No one... save the Grand Marshal of Kron-Nesis. Fate had been kind to her the day they met. The Grand Marshal had lost his only daughter to illness months ago, a daughter so like his wife and unlike his two sons, who looked more like him. Maryvale had a striking resemblance to his deceased daughter. He couldn't help but feel as though he had been guided to her. It was only by chance that they had met, but it was a chance that turned Maryvale's life around completely.
She was thus named Maryvale, and became the daughter of Grand Marshal Lenius. While his sons held noble blood, Maryvale was not allowed to pursue the luxuries of nobility with her brothers. She had been adopted, after all. Not to mention the nobles of Kron-Nesis would never accept one of impure blood -- a halfling daemon child at that -- to become a noble, even if she had been adopted by the Grand Marshal himself. Therefore, the only true way to show her worth as noble blood would be to have her become a knight. And bribe the Court Wizard of Kron-Nesis. Once Maryvale had unlocked her magic potential, Lenius used this to win over the Court Wizard. She admitted herself to the Court Wizard's personal study on rare magic (along with a bit of gold) in exchange for earrings which changed her eye color from red to blue, and minimized (though not completely hid) her daemonic aura. The gold would help him keep quiet.
Now able to become a knight without being scrutinized, Maryvale worked hard in her early years. Despite the reluctance of the royal family, Maryvale proved her usefulness as a potential bodyguard and retainer. During those early teenage years she could defeat rookie members of the city guard and noble children of the same age as herself, not to mention she had held off assassins long enough to save the life of Princess Azymn. It was another case of luck at play, placing Maryvale in the right place at the right time. Just when the princess was to meet with death, Maryvale had interrupted. She only managed to kill one of the assassins, and was severely injured in the fight, but lasted long enough for the guards to arrive and apprehend the remaining assassins. Practically at death's door herself, she was rushed to the closest temple.
Throughout her recovery, Azymn would visit, bringing with her flowers. The two would plant them, watch them grow, and then pass away. After awhile it began to upset Maryvale that the flowers would simply pass away. So, Azymn taught her gardening, and how to take care of her own, long-lasting flowers. For the remainder of her recovery, as well as afterward in the early hours of the morning, the two would practice gardening when they could. For some reason, Maryvale began to adopt traits from Azymn around this point, as though trying to imitate her. Their bond grew incredibly close during this time, to the point where Maryvale even admitted she was not human, however their positions made it hard for them to continue seeing one-another.
And then she was told by Lenius that they were having dinner with the king. The Grand Marshal had planned around the princess and his daughter's relationship, taking advantage of it to help advance Maryvale's status and promote her further in the eyes of the royal family. It certainly surprised the king that Maryvale was the one who saved his daughter. That was a kindness which deserved at least some kind of reward. And her reward was an opportunity. She was set to keep up with unrealistic standards: Be the best knight in the kingdom in return for the position of royal retainer of princess Azymn. It was an impossible uphill battle, but not one that Maryvale would give in to easily. She continuously improved for years, dedicating almost her entire life to being the absolute best combatant in Kron-Nesis. Many with more experience knocked her down, beating her again and again. But Maryvale kept improving.
By her twentieth year, Maryvale is the strongest knight in Kron-Nesis - a feat which shocks even the Grand Marshal. Though certainly not the youngest to hold that title, she is the youngest (and one of the first) women to hold it. After several years of dedication to combat, Maryvale has finally become royal retainer to princess Azymn, her most trusted and closest friend.
Ever since, all Maryvale has done is continue to improve. While she has very little real-world combat experience, she has shown promise in the little bouts she has been a part of. Maryvale is content with her life of servitude, and eternally grateful to the princess as well as the Grand Marshal. She continues to be Azymn's retainer, and will protect the princess with her life. However, it is rumored that the king isn't particularly fond of Maryvale, and is being encouraged by the nobility of Kron-Nesis to get rid of her.

Black and White: A 50-50 inheritance quirk, though Azuki has yet to show her right side. Her left side creates a blinding light, a "Flash Freeze", emitting a vicious snowstorm which quickly cools the direction her palm is facing. It's incredibly powerful, however it functions in a cone-like shape, making it worse the closer the target is to her body. The cold also affects her own body as she uses her quirk, particularly her arm, which is prone to frostbite and frosting over.
D E S C R I P T I O N
Azukina Yomodachi was lucky to inherit both her parents quirks, something which many struggle to receive. She seems to come from a poor background, though doesn't like to speak much about herself, often changing the topic to something or someone else. What little she does give away is her home in Aomori, where she misses the cold dearly, and how she was originally going into construction, but was convinced by her brother to give becoming a hero a go. It's hard to work her quirk without causing danger to others, so she's hoping she can refine it at a decent school, so she won't have to worry about hurting others.
Yomodachi tends to be a bit on the excessive side with her personality, at least when in larger groups. She proclaims boldly heroic messages, exclaiming proud, slightly obnoxious one-liners, similar to a certain hero from the Era of Peace. She seems rather confident in her abilities, understanding her own limitations and striving to better them in any way she can. However behind closed doors, or when in smaller groups, Azuki seemingly turns into someone else. Reserved, cold, hardened; her bright facade fades to reveal the dark reality beneath - a cynic lacking respect and self-worth.

***Quirk Details: Black and White is a 50-50 quirk inheritance as the result of the genetic lottery. Her father's quirk, Flash Freeze, creates a blinding light from the palm of the user's hand, instantly freezing any surface the light touches. Naturally this includes her own body. Azukina has done her best to find a way to cup her hand so the light won't freeze her body, however at best she can hope for her torso and below to be frozen. If you've seen Konosuba, it's like Megumin's explosion magic, where all her power goes into a single devastating attack which completely incapacitates the user. Her left arm will always freeze whenever she uses the attack, preventing her from using another, at least without repercussion. In spite of this being a rule of her quirk, it is possible to use flash freeze more than once, though like with Deku in the tournament arc, it's... not a good idea.
Her right side can create boiling tar so long as it is touching a surface. While her skin is immune to the heat, this tar can quickly cook her inside if she becomes encased in it. She can manipulate it to a basic degree, though lacks practice as she hasn't used that half of her quirk in a long time. While both quirks can display immense power, they hardly compliment one-another at all, save for flash freezing the tar. However, there is incredible emotional baggage to using this technique. In fact, she refuses to use her right side because of an accident that resulted from it long ago, which resulted in her mother's passing.
***Quirk Development: While at a glance Azukina seems like a cookie cutter Todoroki, her quirks fail to compliment one-another in the same way his do. Todoroki's fire and ice offset his weaknesses, whereas I want Yomodachi to have her light and tar amplify her strengths, though doubling down on her weaknesses. Because of the strength these two sides exhibit, it is impossible to use both in any given situation, as she lacks the control and fine tuning to switch between them. For a majority of the RP she will have to suffer with the choice of freezing herself or cooking herself, and development/training will revolve around mitigating the effects of these self-destructive abilities.
Not much will change early in the RP. Her abilities will be self-destructive, and only one at a time. The only time this could potentially break is if she chooses to unlock her other half during a stressful event like Todoroki did, which would be a good chance to explore the side effects of using both rapidly without much control. So for the first few arcs, the only development she might get is getting over herself and using her other half. After this I was thinking Yomodachi could learn to use her quirk in small amounts, creating small sparks of light like a sparkler which can cool a much smaller area, and generating small amounts of tar. It would be a long and lengthy process to even be able to use her quirk in a meaningful/continuous way, and I think you having the power to pick and choose if/how her quirk develops is the best option. After all you might come up with better ideas!
***Juicy Backstory Secrets: Azukina accidentally killed her mother when she was young, due to a lack of control over her quirk and it going out of control. As a result she locks the side of her mother's quirk behind a mental barrier, refusing to use her tar. She does her best to hide her troubles behind a heroic facade, though isn't afraid to let individuals learn about her true nature. Naturally this created a lot of discord between herself and her father, whose relationship is still strained, even after all these years.
***Fears: She honestly fears using her full strength, because she knows what she can do if she can't control it. She fears getting close to others only to hurt them, as her quirk is incredibly volatile. She fears herself, even, knowing that if she isn't careful her own body can easily be the death of her. She fears her father, who she anxiously awaits a confrontation which may or may not come, and she fears her emotions, knowing they're a major obstacle to keeping herself in check. More than anything else, Azuki fears losing control over anything, making her somewhat of a control freak. These are a lot of things to tie to one character, but that's more or less her point: she is incredibly gifted, yet simultaneously hampered, showing the extremes of strength and weakness both. Getting her strength under control is the name of the game with her character, like Deku learning to use OFA, but with some higher personal stakes. If you want to scare the shit out of Azukina, place her in a scenario where she lacks control of her quirk and it can cause harm to others, with a hint of juicy backstory bits!
Well someone already has a chompers quirk, so I think I might have to let Tohka go >_> I have another quirk idea though so I'll make a sheet and you can tell me what you think c:

Space collapsed back on itself, eventually, and there hadn't been a single moment of sentience in the entire history of creation.
There's another universe, where the strong force is too strong the weak force is too weak and nothing forms.
Another, where life develops too late when the Stars have all gone beyond the light boundary and there's nothing to even see.
Another with too many dimensions.
Another with not enough.
Another where time goes in the opposite direction, and species begin as gods, and wind backwards to cells, and never learn
to survive.
