@Jinxer I think England is a perfect setting. In fact, if you want a more accurate setting where an actual civil war was there, the War of the Roses is a perfect setting I think.

As for questions, I am assuming you want reasonably realistic (bar the special part of how you're a guardian that is basically a god-soldier ish person) characters. So how do you expect us to set up our characters precisely?
Having it be a hobby also means that we can give it a more slice of life approach, which I guess is beneficial for interaction.
@aeuternus I'd say either China (for authenticity) or America (for familiarity and relative ease of understanding American culture and such).

Faceclaims, well, it depends on what you want. However I think that if we start mixing it too much it'd be weird (i.e. we need to have a uniform set of rules on faceclaims.) If you get 4 people with a real photo and 8 with anime faceclaims, it'll be weird.

Hobby.
I love the fabric of everything intertwined with itself.

@Jinxer I'm very interested!
I think regardless of what option you pick I will be satisfied. It's not a tremendously big issue to me, I just wanna RP at this point.
That was also my main concern. It could also just be an athletic school, or perhaps just a regular ol' school and martial arts is just one of their talents (and then, if we have musicians in the group, then another talent of the school would be superior music classes) or something of that sorts.
Hmm, that is actually a really good idea. I like that. I watched a documentary on a Kung Fu school in China (it's called Dragon Girls, it's 90 minutes or so, but it's reaaaaaaaaally good.) and that kind of setting was quite inspiring. It's a highly brotherly/sisterly community but at the same time highly competitive.

However the issue with that arises when we force characters to be a martial artist. I mean, I'm ok playing a martial artist, but is the rest?
@aeuternus Well, I don't know if you're familiar with the movie/manga Crows Zero, but it features something like a delinquent school where students fight to 'rule the school'. Basically gangs form -> then armies and then finally the school is united. That obviously never happens, but okay. I don't know what kind of plot you'd be looking for but this is one option however it favors delinquent/bad guy characters. Perhaps not something you'd be looking for but I saw martial arts being mentioned. I'm a martial artist irl so that sounds interesting, but also fighting probably shouldn't be the primary point of the RP should it.

Another question is are we going for a real life faceclaim thing, traditional art (i.e. not a faceclaim but also not anime) or are we going for anime?

Where would the setting take place? America? Asia? Fantasy country? Maybe even Europe, if you feel bold.
