Willow beams up at him, catching Rowan’s tail in the corner of her eye. She starts to turn to look at it more closely when she hears that familiar drawl. “Thank you kindly, ma’am. We just want to make sure our sweet Jewel comes home safe. Here’s a couple extra posters in case you know anywhere else you can put them up.”

Lucky for Willow, she was already aiming to look at Rowan’s tail and quickly hid behind him. She’s just glad she didn’t freeze. “Ah! The baker, right?” Grant takes notice of Rowan from his position up the street and starts walking towards him. “I was hopin’ you might be able to hang one of these up in your establishment.” This sends Willow crawling up into the back of Rowan’s sweater.

Willow smiles back, happy when he sets his hand on her head. It’s a small gesture, but she has found lots of comfort in the way Rowan shows affection. “I’m sure I won’t need more but… thank you.” She says, purposely avoiding looking at the register so she doesn’t become flustered. “I really appreciate it.” She says in a softer tone.

Nic climbs into the SUV and starts the drive to Cassi’s place, excitedly thrumming his fingers on the steering wheel. When he finally arrives at her place, he wastes no time jumping out of the vehicle and bounding over to her front door to knock, hiding something he got on his way behind his back.

Kiki laughs, knowing this is exactly what Avery would do and happily lays back down, her head resting against his thighs. “A verbal one - I didn’t want to get my attorney involved with the legal connotations of a pinkie swear.” She turns her head to catch his eyes as he looks at her.

“Somehow, Caden thought we should have some time to ourselves before one of us explodes. Don’t know how he got the idea that we were close to imploding.”

Willow peeks at Ron, torn between her pride and her excitement before she finally nods. “Okay… Just a few things then.” She relents before she resumes looking through the racks. Although the store doesn’t have anything for rabbits specifically, she’s able to find things that will work. At least most of the clothes would accommodate her tail. Slowly, she starts placing items over her arm, making sure she really likes something before choosing it.

After going through practically every item in the store, Willow finally decides she’s gotten everything she could possibly want from the store. “Is this still okay?” She asks Rowan just to make sure as they head towards the cashier.

Willow’s eyes go wide and excited as they enter the store, looking around at everything and going through the racks without really thinking as she looks at all the different clothes. When Rowan says she can get anything she wants, she turns red. “You don’t need to do that, I just need some underwear and a pair of shoes.” She says, backing away from the racks and standing on her tiptoes to locate the couple of items she needs.

Nic’s joking, but he can’t help thinking of getting one of those cat backpacks that would let Wayland peek out a little bubble. His dad is awake to greet him downstairs, handing him a fruity smoothie to substitute for breakfast. “Thanks dad,” He says. It’s still awkward between the two of them, but at least they have a plan to get him out of the mess Ren put himself in. “Cass and I are going shopping, so we’ll be back later.” Nic says before heading to the elevator.

Nero lifts themselves up off the floor, setting the heavy book on the table. “Hmm, what would you prefer?” They ask, plopping themself in Caden’s lap. “If we stay here, I can stay in your lap, but if we go out I can get dolled up.” They tilt their head as they wait for Caden’s answer. Caden had been so busy between helping the police, punishing Avery, and his own business, that Nero has been missing having moments alone with him outside of sleeping. Although, it’s been great to be back in the nice big bed.

Kiki shakes her head as she makes her way over to her bed. “Aw, what a ‘gwumpy’ wolf you are.” She says before sitting on the edge of the bed. “I guess we can’t go on a little date then.” With a dramatic flair, she sighs loudly and falls back onto her bed, half laying on the sprawled Avery.

“And after I had made Caden promise not to kidnap you today… how disappointing.” She huffs and starts sitting up to leave the bed.

Willow didn’t have the opportunity to really look around the town when she was a tiny bunny running for her life and beyond hungry, so her head turns as if on a swivel while she takes it in. Her newfound freedom has her fascinated with practically everything and watching Rowan’s television had ignited her curiosity. “I’m sure you wouldn’t let me fall.” She says without really thinking about it first as she watches a car drive by.

Willow still smiles, but nods as they make their way to the sidewalk. “Is there a clothing store or anything near the grocery store?” She asks. Although Rowan had said he could always wash anything she wears, it still felt weird borrowing certain clothing items from his sister’s stash at his place. Plus, she could use some shoes - his sister’s shoes are too big for her and wearing multiple pairs of socks did not help.

Willow nods enthusiastically, smiling widely up at Rowan as she practically bounces in excitement. The two are taking every precaution to help prevent anyone from recognizing the rabbit, hence the hat. “Yes! We haven’t seen Grant or anyone else and I’m starting to get antsy staying inside al the time.” She says, unable to hide the whine in her tone at his suggestion. Only her hands, neck, and face are left uncovered with the outfit her and Rowan had pieced together.

“Now, let’s go!” She puts her hands over one of his and tugs at it impatiently.

Despite her best attempts not to give him the satisfaction that her feelings are still very strong, but Avery making her look at him by her chin causes her heart to thrum quickly in her chest. She glares at him, but she can’t really put real hatred into it. “Maybe.” She says instead to tease him before sighing.

“Of course I love you still… you’re just on very thin ice.” She flicks Avery’s nose, but not with any strength behind it. “Now I don’t know about you, but I’m exhausted and as someone pointed out, I need a wolf to sleep so let’s go.”

Nic combs his hair as he’s in front the mirror before he pulls out his phone and sends a text to Cassi. They had talked about going to the hardware store to pick up things for his apartment, so he figures they can kill two birds with one stone.

Good morning cutie, would you like to go shopping with me? We can pick up some things for both me and our new friend.

He doesn’t say anything about summoning the demon, hoping Cassi could read between the lines as he heads downstairs to drive Caden’s SUV and pick her up.

Nero sits with their legs up on a chair in Caden’s library, their back on the floor as they read one of the books. It had been slow progress the last four days, but luckily Crowley had delivered some good news; Mundus was still in his cage. He didn’t have information on how he was sealed in there, but regardless, it was a little soothing to know Nero’s ‘abusive ex’ wasn’t the one stalking them. However, they still don’t know who’s following Nero around.

With a groan, Nero lets the book fall on their face with a loud thud, making Kiki pause in her typing and look down at the imp. “I’m going to take that as my cue to steal Avery and go to the diner he likes.” She announces, standing up from her chair. Nero watches from the floor as she leaves, not telling her that she still has pens and pencils twisted into her hair to hold it in a bun. They’d let Avery do that.

“Maybe we should go get breakfast too?” Nero says, shifting their gaze to look at Caden.

Kiki had let Avery sleep in today, knowing he had pushed himself to patrol the property the night before. Caden isn’t taking chances, even with knowing this Mundus person is still in a cage. She’s slips into her room and lets the door shut loudly. “Morning sleepyhead.” She practically sings. Although forgiven, Kiki is still finding small ways to punish the wolf for what happened to soothe her need to be petty.
