Xavier nods, all traces of a smile gone as Killian leaves the table. It’s not that he doesn’t like Rowan - he just likes his assistance’s company. “Auctions with specialty Omegas usually are…” He takes a sip of his scotch before shaking his head. “How can you stand it? This world we live in that preys on those we should be protecting.” He asks bitterly before sighing.

“Sorry, forget I said anything.” He mumbles as Aethel announces that Rowan had won the bid for nearly every Omega. Someone outbid him for Aurora, but that isn’t too unexpected.

Meanwhile, someone goes unnoticed as they too, get up and head for the restroom. They follow Killian inside and wait for the Omega to finish his business before they press a cloth over their mouth and nose.

Nic’s eyes widen for a moment as he’s pulled in closer to Cassi before he smiles at her and leans down to kiss her lips softly. It only last for a couple of minutes before the ding of the elevator signals they’ve reached Nic’s floor. He pulls his face away from hers, smirking a little, before he picks Cassi up and puts her over his shoulder, exiting the elevator and carrying her into his apartment.

Xavier takes a moment before he chuckles softly, shaking his head. “Ah, my eyes? Or could you mean yours?”

A hush falls over the audience as the Omegas leave and Aethel takes center stage, looking ready to start announcing the results of the silent auction. The lights in the audience come back on once the last of the Omegas is gone. “Thank you all for coming out to our little event! Your prizes are being prepared for you while we announce who’ll be leaving with who.”

Willow’s heart is already beating fast, feeling like it’s about to burst out of her chest, as she leaves the other room with the others. She’s the last to exit, a few paces behind everyone. That’s probably how she ends up being an easy target for picking off for someone lurking in the shadows. A quick hand and cloth cover her mouth and nose, putting her to sleep almost immediately. No one notices the intruder slip away with the bunny.

Willow had been hoping that the lights would come back on and that she could have seen Rowan after all this time, but they keep the audience in the dark except for small table lamps. The lights on the stage are too bright for her to see anything. When her chin starts quivering, she feels a hand grab hers and Willow flashes a small, grateful smile at Aurora before facing forward again. She doesn’t know if it’s the clothes, the fact that she can’t see Rowan, or just how close she is to finally getting out of here for good, but her nerves are all over the place. She can’t help but think something bad will happen.

Xavier looks down at his clothes before looking up at Killian again. He finds he likes it when he blushes. “You wear it well.” He says after a moment and then looks down at his suit, eye furrowed a bit. “Alright, you got me. What do you mean by ‘on purpose’? I just happen to like the color green.” He sips his tea, surprising their server that he hasn’t polished off his glass of scotch yet. Typically he’d be on his third by now.

Xavier lets himself smile a little when he hears Rowan’s voice. “Of course, I was saving the table for you both. How are-” He stops, his eyes landing on Killian. Clad in a gorgeous dress, the Omega outshone everyone in the room in that moment. Xavier’s eyes can’t help but keep roaming all over as he takes in the masterpiece.

“You… look… absolutely,” He clears his throat, trying to get rid of the sudden lump in it. “Words cannot hope to describe it, but you outshine everything else.” His eyes not leaving Killian, he gestures for one of the staff to bring a chair over for Rowan. “Absolutely lovely…”

Willow fidgets in her clothes, feeling as though her skin might burst into flames due to her blushing embarrassment. The four other Omegas behind the small curtain wear similar outfits and also look uncomfortable. In the small windows of time that she would cross their path, she’d suss out how these ones would feel about living in a sanctuary rather than going home with one of the other Alpha clientele. The consensus became clear; every single one of them wants their freedom - they just didn’t realize they had a choice until now.

Aethel peeks in to check on them and gives them his warning look of ‘don’t mess this up’ before the curtains open. It feels like the swimsuit portion of a pageant show with Aethel encouraging the audience to show their support for their favorite prize. Unlike other events, the auction is apparently one that allows this behavior. After the Omegas have been paraded around and shown their talents - Willow’s having been singing again - they line up at the edge of the stage, each holding a small sign with a corresponding number. The silent auction portion of the event has begun.

Aethel begins to usher guests into the amphitheater once again with a lazy smile. It’d been nearly a month since the last event and their marketing team’s hard work seems to have paid off with how many new faces the Beowulfs see. Xavier barely gives Aethel a glance before he trudges to the table where he had met Killian and Rowan for the first time all those weeks ago. Him claiming that spot convinced anyone else to go anywhere else.

He and Killian had spoken briefly through texts, but Rowan’s assistant was true to his word about being busy with his work. It gave Xavier the time to practice for the LSAT. He hasn’t told anyone about this, outside of mentioning that he was researching laws a month ago to Killian. He wants to wait until he’s officially passed the admission test for law school before telling anyone. Plus, he has to think of how he’s going to tell his family about it. A server makes eye contact with him and brings over both a scotch and a hibiscus tea, the second being something he’s been drinking even more often as of late.

With the new onslaught of smell, the imp wiggles excitedly, eager to taste the next round of food. “Okay, what should I try first?” They ask of him, not noticing how alert he’s being. It’s for the best - Nero knows what happens if they start showing fear, so they bury it deep down instead and focus on more important matters. Like food!
