You are both approaching the one post a week mark.
Canaryrose you might be in a collab, so that's good. A post will be coming soon in that case.
Mistress Dizzy. If you need help with a post let me know. I know there isn't much for your character to react to yet. So maybe I can help you think of something.

"Its okay. I don't know how to hold back."

Daphne faced Talon, the conviction in his voice sent chills down her spine. He never spoke much, but when he did it was always impactful. At first she thought he was mute. The older teen intimidated her. He was a skilled fighter. The way he carried himself with confidence and a concentrated calmness made her nervous. Her transformation had him momentarily rooted to the spot. If Daphne had a better combat sense she could have used that to her advantage.

As it stood Daphne settled for studying her opponent. His costume was a deep black, full coverage suit. The gold details glimmered in the sun, on his shoulders there were silver feather decorative pieces. The tops of his gauntlets had metal owls on them. It was an impressive look and probably sturdy too. She looked to see if he was carrying any weapons. Almost immediately she searched for knives. The robbery had left emotional scars in her psyche and knives still frightened her. She couldn't see if he was carrying one, or multiple ones. They were probably hidden. When he walked up to her Daphne braced herself, her arms instinctively shielding her upper body. He wanted to oblige and help her activate her power. Daphne felt relieved, It would level the playing field.

His punch was forceful and calculated in it's strength and speed. She stumbled back and gasped slightly, holding her hand over midsection. The pain was dulled, it was something she still had to get used to. Her immediate reaction was still to flinch and turn away. It worked though. She looked down at the spot he hit her, the bruised skin warped into protective bark. It traveled further outwards, but at a slowed pace. Daphne needed it to be faster. She was pretty sure Talon wasn't going to go easy on her from now on. She placed her hand on the patch of bark and willed it to spread, while simultaneously recreating some distance between them.
"How am I going to do this?" She thought, feeling like she was in over her head. Normally she liked to think things through. It was her lack of combat experience which was holding her back now.

She had no idea how to use her body effectively. Did she just rush in and hope for the best?
That kind of careless action wasn't her sensibility at all. Black Canary rushed at both Green Arrow and Hex though, she acted. Maybe she just needed to be fast. Daphne took a deep breath and rushed at Talon, trying to copy what she'd seen her teacher do. Talon knew exactly what she was going to do, like he could read her mind. Rather it was her inexperience which allowed him to grab her arm and push her away, while barely moving from his spot.

Talon suddenly turned and struck her left arm. She stumbled away clumsily, catching herself on the grass and immediately rolling away to avoid a second strike. In the corner of her eyes she saw something else shimmer. She sucked in a breath and her eyes widened.
Knives
Daphne tried to reach for them. Talon blocked her hand, keeping her from his throwing weapons. He pushed her back and Daphne managed to stay standing. Talon rolled back and shot two knives into her direction with deadly accuracy. Daphne instinctively brought up her arms to protect herself. They struck the bark, one pierced through it, sticking out of her arm. The other slid past her leg, leaving a dent. The sight of a knife sticking out of her freaked her out, and she squealed, pulling it out and throwing it on the grass. Her breathing was fast and she shook in place, frazzled. Two more knives came flying, this time aimed at her head, the part of her body not protected by bark.

Before Daphne could react, her leaf like hair rustled wildly, as if possessed by a strong breeze. The leaves fluttered around her face, slowing the momentum of the knives. One still managed to slice her cheek. She flinched, the exposed skin was more sensitive. Green sap leaked from the cut, trailing down her face. Daphne was starting to panic, she wanted to stop. This was too much for her. Up close she couldn't land a hit and from far away she couldn't defend herself either.

"Don't give up, Act..."
An unfamiliar voice whispered into her mind. Daphne furrowed her brows and looked around her. There weren't any plants around, she wasn't touching anything.....or was she? She stirred the grass with her toes.
"Use the ground, slide..."
"Slide...?"

Daphne had a new plan. She rushed back at Talon, forcing him to abandon his throwing knives. Instead of going for a hit she slid over the grass, trying to force him to the ground with the momentum of her move.

Daphne stood on the sidelines and watched everything unfold quietly. The demonstration of Black Canary and Green Arrow grabbed her attention. She watched Black Canary rush towards the other teacher with a flurry of quick punches. The teen girl flinched and bit her lip watching Green Arrow hit the grass in seconds. She imagined herself in either position and started to feel uncomfortable. It was only a minor display of violence, but it stirred up her anxiety regardless. Daphne let out a nervous breath and wrapped her arms around herself. This aversion to violence was something she wanted to work on during her time with the team. It was important to find a way to deal with this issue. She needed to better at it, so she could be an asset to the team instead of a potential danger. Even though all of her thoughts were perfectly reasonable and made total sense, the way she felt was still the same. She really didn't want to fight.

Some of the team members shared their opinion with Black Canary on how Green Arrow could have handled the fight. Daphne didn't say anything. She knew joking wasn't a great idea, but she doubted he would act that way in the face of serious danger. Besides what kind of insight could she share? She agreed with mostly everything they said. The best thing to do right now was to absorb information and observe.

While she struggled with her nerves someone literally crashed into the training grounds. She was flying full speed towards them. The way she spoke was equally excited and somewhat strange, as if English wasn't her first language. It took Daphne a hot minute to figure out what was going on, until she was nearly face to face with the new girl, floating in front of her. A Tamaranian princess. Daphne stifled a laugh when she mixed up Black Canary and Green Arrow's names. This was amazing, they had alien royalty on their team now! And more importantly one more girl. Even Daphne had to admit the team was getting a bit testosterone heavy, and she was saying that as someone who grew up with only a father and older brother. Gold Rush and Zatara were quick to rush to her side for introductions. Daphne shook her head and smiled, unbelievable...

They were divided into two teams and she was up first to spar with either Talon, Alisa or Rain. She was going to get sick. Daphne felt the familiar paralyzing nerves rush through her body. Her face was set into a pained frown, which she tried to hide by putting up light smile. Though this kind of discomfort was very tough to hide. She really felt like she was willingly submitting herself to torture. It made her feel like she was getting robbed all over again. Powerless and afraid. But she wasn't powerless. Her powers were there to protect her and keep her safe, she just had to learn how to use them to fight back. Not react, but act.

She watched the fight between Black Canary and Hex. The way the physically frail teen defended himself against the skilled martial artist encouraged Daphne. When one hit got through and he was forced down onto the ground Daphne found herself applauding him quietly.
"Great job, defy the odds Casper, you were awesome" She whispered, looking at them with admiration.

Daphne heard Viktor talking and returned her attention to the remaining team members with her. The way he talked always made it sound like he was in a bad mood, or well not a bad mood specifically, but just....
She couldn't tell if he was happy or annoyed. In that way Viktor was similar to Talon. Very to the point and direct. Daphne for one liked to consider someone's feelings when she spoke, but to each their own she guessed. There was something to be said about being unambiguous. You always knew what you were getting into. He proposed Alisa would spar with him. Honestly despite being made completely out of metal Daphne had the feeling Alisa would be the most gentle out of the three of them. That wasn't the point though.

While she waited for Alisa to decide she turned to Talon.
"If we're going to spar you should know I'm not really a great fighter, but uhmm there's no need to hold back, I can hold my own" Daphne trusted in her power, her bark like skin would protect her. She just needed a hand to get it to activate. The teen girl took a moment to focus her power. Slowly the transformation from human to plant spread across her body. Most of it was hidden underneath the baby pink tracksuit she was wearing. The only visible parts to transform were her hands, neck, face and lastly her hair. She breathed quietly, getting accustomed once more to her new anatomy.

The next thing was always kind of tricky and slightly embarrassing, so she turned her back on her team members. She unzipped her jacket and slid out of her pants.
"Okay I'm ready now"
Daphne blushed, which turned her cheeks a darker green. Her hair rustled around her face, the leaves moving to cover her body. She moved towards Talon with light steps on the grass.
"There's one thing you have to do though before we start, you have to hit me..." She realized how odd this sounded, giving away a free hit. She just hadn't reached the level of control yet where she could change her skin from leaf to bark at will.

Green arrow held up his hands in defeat, being bombarded by criticism from every corner by the team. He leaned over to whisper something to Black Canary.
"God Dee, these guys are even more straight laced than the Justice League, I mean where is the teen spirit?"
She merely shook her head in response, but her face remained serious. It was important for the team to take them seriously, judging how they brutally analyzed Ollie's mistakes made her hopeful. The potential they'd seen in each of them would benefit from an attitude like that. In time they could make a great team, so long as they got the basics down. They might be capable heroes on their own, but working together was a whole different ball game. You had to consider each other's strengths and weaknesses as if they were your own.

Green Arrow faced the team boldy, not deterred by their earlier remarks.
"Lighten up guys, obviously I was showing you all how not to go about things"

Dinah rolled her eyes and put her hand on her hip, knowing there would undoubtedly be more of this nonsense coming.

"Your observational skills are good but...."
He walked over to Dinah to demonstrate something. In his opinion this was also of incredible importance, although not as widely useful. He'd gotten his butt handed to him multiple times, falling into this same trap.
"Sometimes appearance can also be weaponized, case in point.." He explained, gesturing to his lovely fellow teacher, making an effort to point out her signature hero suit.
"Don't let it be a distraction" He explained in a very unfitting serious tone, while looking at the boys in particular.

Green Arrow's derailment of the combat training was halted by the comedic and slightly dramatic entrance of Brightheart, their latest team member. They were informed she would be arriving after training, but she arrived early. Great, she could also benefit from this.
He cleared his throat and looked at the disheveled Tamaranean. The Leaguer offered her a simple welcoming nod of acknowledgement. Zatara and Gold rush offered her a more warm welcome. Green arrow ignored the little statement of Gold Rush which partially undermined the point he was trying to make. Truth be told it was usually the female heroines and villains who employed their looks. So he wasn’t wrong.

“Thank you Ollie, for that very specific bit of information, you never know when that might save the day” Black Canary didn’t even bother to hide the sarcasm in her voice.

“Okay team, as you can see behind me, there is a sparring area which will be under my supervision. Further up ahead there is a trail leading into the forest where you’ll find an obstacle course.”

Together with Ollie she had designed a simple yet effective obstacle course. It was an exercise in teamwork, communication and perseverance The course was made up out of four segments along a 3km path. A tall 12ft stone wall, a large rectangle shaped gap deep into the ground over which monkey bars were positioned , followed by another second identical gap with no way across and lastly a set of fives tires that needed to be flipped 30m

“Rain, Cybergirl, Talon, Nymph and Hex”
“You’re sparring, so you can stay with me”

“Zatara, Brightheart, Gold Rush, Metamorph and Mirage”
“You five follow Green Arrow to the start of the obstacle course”

“Okay guys…..and girls”
“Some ground rules, Zatara you only got two spells, Brightheart no flying, Gold Rush only one clone at a time, Metamorph one animal power only for the entire course, Mirage your staff is off limits.”

While the second group was making their way to the obstacle course, Black Canary turned to her pupils.
“I am aware there are varying degrees of martial prowess between you five” She took off her black cropped coat and went to do some warm up stretches while continuing to talk.
“That means some limitations, Alisa mind your strength, same goes for you Rain”

Dinah was also aware of the potential of Hex’s magical abilities, something she wanted to experience herself first, before subjecting the remaining team members to its effects. She walked up to Hex, as he’d previously stated to be willing to work on his defense, trusting the remaining four to create pairs on their own.

“Hex, we’re going to work on your defense, don’t hold back and trust your instincts”

When the second group reached the obstacle course Green Arrow walked into the forest, without explaining to the team where to go or how to proceed. His peculiar teaching methods were a source of unpredictability, which was exactly what the obstacle course was supposed to do too. Throw surprises at the team, they had to overcome together. The Leaguer was hauled up into one of the nearby trees, hidden between the branches, neatly camouflaged by his green suit. He wanted to see how his team was going to handle this.
I will post this weekend to move us along ^.^

@Courtaud
You kind of got the short end of the stick with this round of introduction posts. With Prints Avoid being busy and me skipping before our characters could property interact.
You continued things with no problems though and I liked your post, including the evening prior is great 😊

May 4rd, 2021 | 8:00a.m. | Happy Harbor, Rhode Island

It was a bright and early morning, emphasis on the early. The team was expected to be outside 8:00 am sharp, at the main entrance of Mount Justice. It led into the forest bordering Happy Harbour. The location of their first combat and scenario training. Their teachers of the day were standing in the middle of the grass field, talking to each other. There was an obstacle course, a target practice area and several other areas constructed for a specific purpose, some more readily identifiable than others.

"Ladies first" A man dressed in green carrying a quiver on his back motioned for the other teacher to take the stage and address the group of teen heroes in front of the pair. She smirked at him, and rolled her eyes lightly, as someone who was used to being spoken to like that on the daily. She approached the group with confidence.

"We consider it an honor to be your teachers"

Behind her, the man was scratching the back of his head, not sure if honored was the way he felt. More like they were the only leaguers currently available. That and both him and Dinah were two of the most skilled fighters in the current Justice League. He wanted to show these kids not having powers didn't mean you couldn't win a fight. He was pulled away from his thoughts when the undeniable voice of Dinah explained the basics of combat to the team.

"Combat is about controlling conflict, putting the battle on your terms"
"You should always be acting, never reacting"

She realized that for some this training would be the first physical fight in their lives.
"Everyone responds differently to violence, you can either fight back, run or freeze on the spot"
"I'll need a sparring partner"

Dinah looked at the group of teens with anticipation, expecting at least one of them to step forward. That chance was ruined, when none other than her fellow teacher decided now was a good time to be flirty. Big mistake....

"Oh oh pick me pick me" He said excitedly, holding up his hand like the teens were supposed to do.
"After this, I'll show you my moves" A cheeky smile spread across his mouth, eyes still hidden behind a mask, but they were undoubtedly gleaming.

She nodded, giving him the okay.

He barely had time to string up an arrow, before he had to block several punches. When he tried to get in a hit, he got his legs kicked out from under him, falling face first into the grass, earning him a mouthful of leaves.

Dinah smirked and brushed back her blonde hair, barely breaking a sweat. It was difficult to keep a straight face, as the satisfaction of beating her partner never really did get old.
"Did anyone see what he did wrong?"

The Green?
Ja looked like he'd figured out something important, but it was completely lost on Daphne. Her full brows wrinkled together in confusion, but she kept an amused smile on her face. What was Green? She figured she could ask him later. His cheerful attitude was rubbing of on her. The way he said her name was funny. She had a feeling that correcting him wasn't going to do all that much, so she just let it slide.

"Yeah! Let's go find them!"

Daphne broke into a light sprint, trying to keep up with Ja, who was skipping through the hallway like a cheerful little monkey. It made her laugh. Running and laughing at the same time left her a little out of breath once they joined up with the remaining team members in the teleporter room. These hallways were long!
Running up and down just one of them was a whole workout on it's own. Daphne took a bit to catch her breath and listened to Ja talking to the two guys. She fanned herself with her hand, feeling a little hot. Her cheeks were lightly flushed, only they were soft green instead of the usual pink. Feeling self conscious she touched her cheeks, realizing they were warm, meaning she probably broke out green again.
How embarrassing....

She blew a piece of hair from her face, shifting her attention to the two team members in front of her. Daphne looked at guy who was carrying an owl shaped helmet first, trying to make eye contact with him, which wasn't easy because of the domino style mask he wore. He looked pretty serious and she couldn't really tell what he was feeling, excitement, nerves, maybe both or neither. She decided on a cheery wave at both him and the guy standing next to him.

"Hi, nice to meet you two, I'm Daphne" She overtly emphasized the pronunciation of her name, wanting them to learn the proper way to say her name. It made her giggle.

MEETING THE TEAM

The exact formation of the new Young Justice initiative had been weeks in the making, careful consideration of each mentor allowed each hero a spot on the team. The old Mount Justice got repurposed as a new home for the future leaguers. Some chose to arrive at the start of spring break, setting up their living arrangments. Others joined up later, allowing Red Tornado, the team's appointed caretaker to give them a tour of the HQ. The members met up and introduced themselves to each other. The next morning they immediately started of with combat training and an obstacle course, led by Leaguers Black Canary and Green Arrow. The training ended in disaster. Nymph lost control of her powers, putting Talon in danger. With the help of Metamorph, Cybergirl, Hex and Mirage the crisis was averted, but not without lasting physical and emotional hardships for the team. In an attempt to distract from the traumatizing morning events Red Tornado sent them on an obligatory shopping trip at the Happy Harbor mall.

SUIT UP

The team's first mission took place at the snow mountain regions of La Hoya Argentina, investigating a Kobra factory. For some this was the first time they did any sort of hero work. After a thorough briefing Batman split up the team in two squads Talon was selected to be the leader due to his covert skills. The team took the jet to the mission site, one squad taking up vantage points, the other infiltrating the factory. So far so good, until things started to go down south rather quickly. Nymph was tasked to be on comms but was incapicated due to the unforseen effects of the cold on her transformed body. This lead to Metamorph being spotted, and Kobra sounded the alarm, forcing the infiltration squad to extract before they were ready. The flight back to HQ was tense, with heated arguments between squad leaders. Mistakes were analyzed and reported back to the League. The team managed to find some important information on the activities of Kobra. The building plans for a chemical weapon, along with a list of cities possibly being targetted. Metamorph managed to aquire a sample of some sort of modified Kobra venom from the mission site. An important clue, leading the team to their next destination.

STAGE FRIGHT

Infiltrating Haly's circus posing as circus employees. The premise of the Team's mission in Gotham city. With the information uncovered by Alisa and the container recovered from La Hoya the team tracked down a supplier with the help of the leaguer Zatanna Zatara who has taken up a residency at Haly's circus. The Team arrived at the circus grounds in the afternoon, giving them the opportunity to visit the fair happening alongside the circus. It was a nice opportunity to get to know the new recruits better, as the possibility of them staying was becoming very likely. There was a lot of pressure on Zach with him being in charge of organizing the Team's performance. It was his chance to finally outshine his famous cousin Zatanna. Talon came close to discovering the identity of the supplier, but he was brainwashed by a mysterious woman hired to protect the supplier. Upon returning to HQ the Team seemed to have failed their objective. A couple of hours later the chemical responsible for Talon's strange behaviour and memory loss wore off. It enabled him to identify the supplier, leading to the Team's first semi successfull mission.

DEEP DIVE

The Team traveled to Atlantis to escort a renowned geneticist and marine archeologist, Dr Bingley. Aquaman appointed Mirage as the Team’s leader and requested to bring the Professor to his research facility in Atlantis where they would exchange information and start up a joint study with Atlantean scientists. During the submarine ride to the underwater kingdom the Team encountered a giant squid. In its curiosity the animal mistakingly seemed to be attacking the submarine. They tried to scare it away. When the creature snagged Metamorph and appeared to try and eat him they were forced to retaliate, resulting in the death of the squid. This deeply affected Metamorph due to his connection to the Red. Meanwhile the Deluge, a terrorist group who hate surface dwellers attempted to sabotage the Team and their mission. They didn’t want Atlantis to be corrupted by the Professor’s research. They saw the joint study as the first step to the downfall of the kingdom. It is later revealed the Professor extensively studied a rare Atlantic race capable of powerful magic and has plans to eliminate the gene, by proposing an intervention in the pre natal stage. This is the same race Mirage descends from. It turns out that this is not a coincidence. Mirage is forced to reveal her true nature and the Team suffers multiple casualties.

GROWING PAINS

The Team is getting ready for their next mission briefing. Instead of Batman, strangely enough the Martian Manhunter is waiting for them. Simultaneously Nymph is nowhere to be found. The Martian Manhunter shares with the Team that she had an accident during a study session with Professor Hall. It left her in a comatose state, trapped by her powers. The league keeps her in a small greenhouse at the HQ, while they try to find a way to help her. Talon has a talk with Black Canary. The combination of his perceived failures and the possibly irreversible condition of his friend causes him to leave the initiative.

Meanwhile the remaining members of the Team are sent to Taos New Mexico to track down a lead at the Meta-Human Youth Center. They team up with Omen, a team of young heroes operating from within the Youth Center. They are searching for their missing team member and share the Team’s objective. After some reconnaissance on site they discover the hidden location of Kobra’s operational lab, hidden in the sandy hills of the town. Braving the blistering heat and a possible ambush they manage to breach the factory. It turns out the missing teens have been subjected to Kobra’s neo-steroids. As a result they became incredibly strong with disproportionate muscular physiques. Not only that but they were being controlled by the hired Kobra agent, the same girl the Team faced in Gotham.

The ensuing battle claimed multiple victims. Metamorph was assaulted by the Kobra agent, who used a secret code to lift a mental barrier in KJ’s mind, forcefully shifting him from Ja to Kila. Cybergirl bravely defended Zatara and was brought down by fire and a debilitating attack on her internal systems. The damage was beyond repair and she became in operational. Rain fought the Kobra agent and Riley, one of the teens, while under the influence of the powerful pheromone. He was ultimately forced to inject himself with the same formula that was used on the teens to survive the battle. The Team triumphed and the teens were saved, they were shaken up but alive. At Mount Justice Batman was waiting to debrief the Team. The Team’s final ordeal before they could rest and lick their wounds.
