Be like a duck; calm on the surface, but always paddling like the dickens underneath.

If it looks like a duck and sounds like a duck, it could be a really ugly swan

fancy tech that makes you a wizard?

This sounds cool. Forget about the traditional stuff like wands and swords and whatnot. What if you need highly sophisticated equipment to even percieve magic? People known as magi would walk around with a suit full of gadgets and technology in order to perform their craft.

I like this. This is pretty unique, and insane, and cool. Can we do this?

I'm bumping this. Don't judge.

I'm not judging you so hard right now.
I like urgency. I like conflict even more. A story or setting without either bores me.

But we can get to that. Hmm.

"Following a major magical incident, the people of the Homeworld are forced to flee to the off-world colonies"?

I'm thinking, but not yet writing into the premise, that the colonies might have been subjugated by the Homeworld. That maybe the Homeworld has oppressed them, and that the current situation grinds some gears.
I don't know what NRP stands for, but I'm down for world building.

The map looks fantasy, so I assume that's the direction we're heading?

EDIT: Hold on, let me extrapolate from that there map.

Most "civilized" people live within those mountain borders, around the lake. Though there are probably lands across the sea to the east. The rest of the land is taken up by other people. Barbarians if this is an all human world but maybe warring tribes of orcs and wargs and stuff. There are some "civilized" outposts out there, to keep an eye on things.

The river extending South West has some settlements. Probably a river boat culture, sort of the last bastion of civilization outside of the mountain barrier. They're a hardy people, every man woman and child carries a weapon.

I see a string of mountains just before the snowy lands of the North, and the few passes are guarded by towers. A bit GoT, but maybe there's something awful up North. Giants? We'll discuss it. The towers are to keep watch for whatever it is.

There's a few holds, almost entirely within the mountain barrier. And a bigger one on the coast that is probably a capital. The south most one, and the one by the bridge at the north east tip of the barrier mountain are charged with keeping the barbarian/bad races out of the good lands.

Thoughts? More specific ideas? Disagreements?

I like everything I see in this post :D
"Using magic, humanity has built a network of colonies among the stars."

Maybe some kind of fantasy Star Gate, then?

Ok, here's an idea for a premise (medieval fantasy):

Magic is leaking out of the world, and no-one knows why. This gives birth to conflict as the balance of power shifts, causing the old order to crumble while giving birth to something new.
This looks swell. Haven't read everything yet, but I just wanted to compliment you right away!

Will finish reading later and then begin discussing :)
So what are we thinking? Fantasy adventure, or NRP, or something else?
Pretty little to go by but I love the map!

Thanks! And I thought maybe we could figure out what kind of game we wanted to play together.

What sort of scale are we looking at here? What are the dimensions of this area of the world you've built

Not sure. But probably pretty big, what with the mountain ranges and all.
Hiya.

I made a map.

I thought that maybe I'd use it here.

Anyone wanna play a game?
