I had no idea three consecutive people could have strong feelings about Power Rangers. This is wild.

I'm telling you: I will make a Power Rangers game on this site, and I will find two -- maybe even three -- people to join me!

It always made me mad that Jason got screwed over for Tommy, letting a former arch-enemy take over the team. It's like whenever Magneto does a face-turn and everyone's just okay with him leading the X-Men despite all those times he tried to kill them. Meanwhile ya boy in the T-Rex has been loyal since day one and suddenly he's relegated to sidekick duty. I call bullshit.

On the one hand, Saban didn't have a choice once Austin St. John walked off the production. On the other hand, Saban did have a choice: Pay your actors more than extras.

At least the positive consequence was that Jason never played second fiddle to Tommy. No, that "honor" was reserved for Rocky, the second Red Ranger and a man with all the charisma of a sea sponge.
Tommy is the original Gary Stu and a garbage character who we've been forced to endure because Jason David Frank was the first actor to realize that there was money to be made off the nostalgia. /hottake

Amendment: Tommy was an incredible villain and a character whose arc was exhausted the second he lost his powers. Bringing him back as the White Ranger was PR's jumping-the-shark.
I'm a peculiar case because I didn't get into the caped crusaders until a little independent film called Spider-Man sent me down that rabbit hole. (I mean, like any 90s kid, I had been exposed to the Spider-Man and X-Men animated series -- didn't see as much of the DC stuff -- but it didn't really "take" until Raimi's film hooked me.) No, my childhood superheroes were these nerds:

By God as my witness, I will make that into an RPG eventually.
Inventing my own award categories, eh? Oh, challenge so accepted...

(Does that mean you won't be using the villain you asked about for your other concept?)

Sadly, it does. Shame, too, because I still believe he makes a killer villain for that hero. But after recent events, I don't blame you for having ideas of your own.
The season has been extended? Now my epilogue is even more comically early. But it's given me time to get two S2 posts in the can already, so I'd call that a net positive.

Many of you know this from private conversations, but it seems as good a time to announce as any: The ending of my post wasn't bluster; Captain America will return.
Regarding the Joker, I'm looking forward to the graphic sex scene in which Cesar Romero impregnates Heath Ledger.

Mein Coach? Is that the sports-centric followup to Mein Kampf?
Did Sarah McLachlan's "I Will Remember You" just start playing for everyone else, or is that just me?
