Thanks.
I really like the setting. It's way more compelling than the standard future where the concept starts and ends with "superheroes fight".

For this version of the Rainbow Raider, I'm basically artistically constipated. I planned out everything I want to make, but the sentences keep coming out cumbersome and uninteresting.

Essentially, the character was as different from the previous Rainbow Raider as Barry Allen was from Jay Garrick. He was supposed to be a kid who was born blind before being chosen by a clan of leprechauns stationed in Boston. The leprechauns gave him the goggles of Roy G. Bivolo, enhanced with their technoloies to allow him to see different parts of the spectrum at a time (from radiation, to heat, to the same colors we all see), and focusing his input to increase sensitivity in certain ranges. Also, he would be capable of blasting the colors of the Rainbow from his visor.

His mission was to restore the colors to the "Great Rainbow", all seven bands of which were in the possession of the Legion of Doom. In order to acquire them, the Rainbow Raider would raid the lairs of various Legionnaires as a member of the Justice League.

I love the concept, of course I'm biased. But my sheets keep coming out awful.
@MrDidact I'm sorry Mr. D, but it's just not coming together for me this time.
@Nightrunner What were you thinking of doing? Still going with Scarecrow or another villain?

I've settled down on Rainbow Raider. Just making everything orderly. Please forgive the delay.
@Pundii Funny story. I actually was initially going to have my character nicknamed The Black Fox before I ever read your sheet. But after doing so, I decided that I'd frame my character as an imposter of the established Black Fox and possibly an associate for fun character drama.

Would anyone mind letting me know where a forest gnome might be from? I don't know the geography of this world very well at the moment. I figured he might be effectively nomadic, but everybody's gotta start somewhere.

EDIT: At the time I hadn't realized his character was no more.
@Mr Allen J This is good news.

My name's Nightrunner. Friends call me Night or NR, I'm seventeen years old and hail from Indiana, USA. I graduated High School early and I'm looking for a job. I've been on the Guild quite a while, somewhere around four years or so. The actual quality of my work here has gone up and down more often than a basketball, but I'd like to both improve my reputation here and generally have more fun than I've been having. You may have seen me from time to time in Lord Wraith's games, perhaps Blacksam's too.

I also write for advanced more than anything else. Just a few notes on my writing style. I'm heavily influenced by comic books. Sometimes I've come to think of the way I write when I'm most effective as a non-illustrated student of Frank Miller and Chris Claremont. So I imagine my prose can probably get a bit purple at times. One thing I'm working on is providing further perspective into the minds of characters.

This is not a suggestion, but I think it would be heavily amusing to see the martial artists fighting their way through the characters in your Baybridge universe (which I've looked at joining more than once). I have no idea why, but the vision that burst directly into my mind upon reading your concept was a space opera/space fantasy setting.
I like the sound of your fighting game proposal. I'm gonna go ahead and arrogantly spout out that I think I'm actually a fountain of ideas myself and accordingly believe that I could keep things interesting.

But I don't presently use Skype or Discord and I'm unlikely to on account of the fact I have a limited amount of room for further applications and browser based Skype on mobile looks inconvenient. I do everything from my cell phone, but I try not to let it show or use it as an excuse to do less among the forum users here. Is the lack of external communications a deal breaker?
@MrDidact Should have a CS up either today or tomorrow. I've finally got my concept pinned down.
Hello, newbie here.
Just some background info on me: I just turned 13 a few weeks ago, and I'm a writing enthusiast. I'm new to play-by-post RP, but have a few months of experience with GURPS, D&D and other tabletop systems.

I've been trying to get into RPing for a few weeks now, and one thing I've noticed pervades this forum is a strong sense of entitlement by seniority. A lot of the users here are several decades older than me and have vastly more experience in the play-by-post world. I've been told no less than four times, all by different people, that I should stick to Free RPs for "a few years" before moving onto more advanced RPs. A lot of people have also told me that I lack the emotional stability to "handle" the social expectations of Casual or Advanced RP.

But the thing is, I'm linguistically advanced enough to handle postlengths of up to five paragraphs, and the grammar standards of Free tends to allow for a level of newbism that is not my own. I get that I'm young and mentally challenged and not always easy to get along with, but it's hard for me to find RPers in my age group who are on the same writing level as me.

So what I'm basically trying to ask is, should I dumb myself down for the sake of not annoying the older and more socially advanced members of RPG, or is there a way for me to RP with older people without getting on their nerves?

No, you should never have to dumb yourself down. I started role-playing here when I was fourteen years old, I wanted to start when I was twelve but got intimidated. I tried a free game when I started. Very dissatisfying for me personally. Next thing I knew I met my role-playing crew. @Byrd Man and some other players like @HenryJonesJr were immigrating from their own internet home of many years and set up shop in advance.

I was terrible at first. God awful. I think I still an in some respects. But playing in advanced does not take a lot. I've very rarely not played in advanced, actually. You'll get better as you get older. You'll get more ideas and yours skills will level up. Not that I'm writing you off for now, it's just that you're always getting older. I never could've imagined I'd be seventeen so soon. Makes me wish I would've wrote more when I was your age.
