Personality: Cassander is fundamentally concerned with the acquisition and application of uncommon and useful knowledge. Often enough he loses himself in thought or contrarily may gush about topics of interest far longer than those around him can near to listen. He finds it immeasurably frustrating to discover that he has made mistakes and errors in judgement, yet he consistently applies unproven and dubious methods to straightforward tasks, if only to see what happens as a result. When cooperating with others, he tends to see their skills and abilities as a surplus to his personal toy box.
He does view other people as valuable in their own right, and hates to see his friends or even his most tangential associates come to harm at any time. But he has a real mean streak, a bone to pick with anyone who's wronged him or someone he cares about. He holds grudges and suspicions for a long time, always scheming. He develops a personal concern for others readily, but is weary of developing real relationships. The fate of his wife is a real sore spot for him, and for that reason he feels uncomfortable becoming vulnerable or intimately involved with another lover.
Habits: Kneeling when in thought, muttering to himself
Hobbies: Storytelling, Economic Analysis

- The very notion of being paralyzed with fear frightens him.

- Acrobatics: He has the ability to deftly maneuver through challenging obstacles regardless of the situation.
- Balance: He's quite good at remaining sure footed.
- Battle Focus: With concentration, he can block out all stimulus not relevant to an ongoing battle he is involved in. He can either set his frame of mind on barricading any progress from the enemy or to hastily vanquishing them in a relentless onslaught.
- Climb: He is wonderful at finding footholds and scaling surfaces with the slightest hand or foot holds.
- Cunning Action: As a bonus action in the space of a single turn, Cassander can either dash, disengage, or hide.
- Dark Vision: He can see in dim light as though it is full daylight, and in darkness as though it is dim, albeit without identifiable colors.
- Hide: He is very good at concealing himself while in either open or enclosed spaces.
- Intimidation: He's a very dangerous type of man, even though his forte is not necessarily combat itself. He's very good at persuading people to cooperate with him for their own well-being.
- Language (Common): He is fluent in Common, both reading and writing.
- Language (Dwarven): He is fluent in speaking, reading and writing Dwarven.
- Language (Gnomish): He is fluent in speaking, reading and writing Gnomish.
- Light Armor Proficiency: While wearing light forms of armor his movement will not be inhibited.
- Perception: Being able to perceive subtle fluctuations from normalcy is key to any tacticians success.
- Martial Weapons Proficiency: He is capable of wielding virtually all handheld weapons with success.
- Sleight of Hand: Whether the task is picking locks, concealing a blade, or feinting a blow, he is skilled at manipulating his hands precisely.
- Speak with small mammals: As a consequence of being a first gnome, Cassander is capable of conversing with small mammals.
- Stealth: The gnome in question is wonderful at placing his feet without making a sound and by transforming lapses in the perception of others into opportunities for infiltration.
- Study: While engaged in combat, he can analyze an enemy and by exploiting his weaknesses he can multiply the likelihood of a critical hit until the battle is over. He can only perform one study at a time, but the studies apply to all enemies of the same species unless they are particularly intelligent. He can mentally retain several studies at a time and can communicate his findings to his allies, offering them the same advantages.
- Sneak Attack: As a bonus action, he can take one extra attack at the end of a turn.
- Thieves Cant: He can relay hidden messages disguised by what seems to be everyday conversation and small talk. Usually only other thieves will be capable of decoding his messages. It's worth noting that it will usually take around four times as long to relay a message using thieves cant as it would by overtly saying his message.
A listing of spells, their descriptions - casting times, elements needed to cast, expected damage, any draw packs to casting - Limit 5 for single class, limit 3 for dual class - magic classes only
- Grease: With this spell, he can create a pool of grease with a fifteen foot diameter on the ground. It's useful both for tripping up pursuers and for starting large fires. In order to cast, he has to say the word "Grease" and it will appear wherever his right index finger is pointing. Once this is done, he is almost guaranteed to become extremely hungry.
- Improved Minor Illusion: With this spell, he is capable of creating both visual and audible illusions - at once! To cast, he has to enter a meditative state, which requires about fifteen seconds to enter. Once this is achieved, he can distort the light and sound of an area within thirty yards from his own body. When controlling the illusions, his own sensory input is limited. If his concentration is broken, the illusion will simply dissolve.
- Mage Hand Legerdemain: At a moment's notice, he can generate a selectively visible, spectral hand and send it out into the world, up to twenty yards away. In order to do this, he has to say shake his two hands together for a moment, until the third hand emerges from between them. It can only carry a payload around five pounds. He is intimately familiar with this cantrip and can do it constantly without issue. On the other hand (no pun intended), the weight of the hand and whatever it holds eventually tires him out out, just like a normal hand. Once tired, it's much easier to just let the hand dissolve into nothingness.
Possessions Generally On Person: Clothing, coin purse, money, etc
- Clothing: A grey, loose fitting hooded cloak tucked under a leather belt that is secured by a black buckle. His black pants are form-fitting, though not skin tight. He also wears scuffed up, leather pixie boots with curled toes.
- Coin Bank: A small metal contraption that dispenses individual coins out of several differently sized sleeves. It's much quieter and more orderly than a sack of coins. Presently contains a modest mix of Gold, Silver, and Copper.
- Lock Picks: Small pieces of metal used to coax car doors locks into opening.
- Mask: A mask resembling the stylized face of a fox, technically in reference to the kitsune of Japanese folklore, though I'm not sure if such creatures would exist in this setting. This hangs in the hood of his cloak, on a string around his neck. He often wears it into battle.

Weapons: Personal weapons, no magically enhanced items

Armor: Base armor only, no magically enhanced items
None at the moment.Animals: Have a horse or bird? Limit 1 non bonded
- Squirrel: Fuzzy the Dark Squirrel is a black furred, pointy eared Squirrel with brown eyes that sometimes appear a bloody red. Because Cassander is a forest gnome capable of speaking with the little woodland creatures, he has a working relationship with this particularly valiant being. When at rest, he often perches on Cassander's shoulder. But he is often sent out to perform reconnaissance ahead of Cassander. He is capable of assault with his tiny claws and nut cracking teeth, but that is usually left to Cassander.

- Ring of Mind Shielding: While wearing this item, the user is protected from such powers as those that would reshape his will, control his actions, and read his thoughts.
Potions: Premade or prepurchased potions - limit 5
- Potion of Spontaneous Combustion (2): It is a sunny yellow potion, resembling egg yolk, that once swallowed will give a euphoric feeling accompanied by hallucinations, but sometime around ten minutes after ingestion it will cause the user to burst into flames. These flames are not accompanied by any amount of concussion, they start small, faint yellow tongues reaching out of the victims pores. They can be stopped with a stop, drop, and roll. After five seconds or so they become like snakes rising to the song of their masters, about six inches high. After another ten seconds pass, the victim will thoroughly be shrouded by a web of fire. Ten seconds after that, the flames will become blue, assuming that the victim has survived that long.
- Potion of Moderate Healing (3): A drink that restores a measure of the user's stamina and well-being.
Creation Materials: Anything used to brew potions or for alchemy
Parents: His parents were slaves to a particularly cruel human oppressor. They were never allowed to come into contact with him.
Siblings: He was an only child.
Childhood: He was born a slave, but studied strategy and led a revolt, running away with his fellow slave girl.
Adulthood: He married the former slave girl, Arielle, and together they became thieves, emptying the pockets of evildoers, wherever they could be found. He has adventured with many others, emancipating several slave encampments, vanquished dozens of bandits, and overcoming countless obstacles while building a personal network of informants.
Special Moments: Impersonating The Black Fox, King of Thieves, with and without his permission. Rescuing a squirrel hero from a savage weasel and establishing a life debt. Convincing a swarm of bats to rain feces on his enemies as a distraction. Literally walking straight out of prison on several occasions.
Current Events: Unfortunately, his wife was murdered on a botched job. Cassander has an idea of who the killer was, and he suspects that the killer also intends to kill him in order to get his hands on his encyclopedia. Arielle's death drove Cassander to alcoholism, but he has since sobered up, intending to demonstrate exactly how formidable he is before having his revenge. He's been following clues in pursuit of his wife's killer, and he thinks he's getting close.

But on one job, Assyro erred and nearly cost them their lives, and did get them arrested. Cassander figured out how to escape from their prison, and instructed Assyro how to get out himself. But Cassander left and Assyro did not fully understand the plan, so he remained in prison and lost his left hand. His sentence just ended. Cassander had initially assumed that Assyro had merely determined to go separate ways, but now he realizes that he'd been rotting in his cell.
- ☠ Briggleton Burns: A goblin assassin who usually brings a few of his friends to help him with a job. He's been a persistent thorn in Cassander's side with a knack for tracking him down every few months for the last three years. He rides a wolf and usually blows every opportunity at a successful assassination by screaming at the last moment.
- ☠ Hilliard Trapp: A wizard, and Cassander's former owner. The last time they met, Hilliard had a brand new bunch of slaves. So Cassander destroyed his operation and launched an ambush.
