Current I'll be gone for about 3 weeks as of 18/06. I might see your message, but I also probably won't be keeping up like I usually do.

As someone who lost a parent before their time... It's never a bad time to give your folks a call and see how they're doing. One day you're going to say goodbye for the last time.

I think it's also just a sad fact that forum RP has been undergoing a slow but consistent decline for the best part of a decade now. Games that once would have thrived can no longer get the numbers.

NRPs are also usually advanced level with tons of writing per post. I co-GM'd one that ended up being the length of one and a half LotR books. That not only takes time, but also makes them fragile.

Bought Helldivers 2 because of the online hype, didn't expect that much. Ended up putting 5 hours into it on my first session. For Super-Earth and Managed Democracy! Oorah!

MC will almost certainly be important contruction wise. No need for cranes when he can precisely manipulate the gravity in order to lift any object.
The animals have fled.

Where once there was chirping, life, and the thunder of the beasts, now there is nothing. A great winter is coming. Greater than any we have seen before. There is no way we can survive on the meagre supplies we have left... So instead we walk. We will take the path towards the rising sun, to a new land and a new life. No matter how bitter the cold, how bloody our feet... The ancestor will smile upon us.

Irredeemable here. This is an RP set in prehistoric times, just as the last of the great ice ages is rolling in. We will be a tribe of Homo Sapiens migrating from what is now Eastern Russia, bordering on Mongolia, and we are moving East, across the Bering Bridge to go to the 'Sun Land-' where we can escape the cold once and for all. Whilst doing so, we must brave the elements, fauna, disease, and more, whilst also revering the ancestors and navigating successfully.

I'm going to try to keep this as driven as possible. Since the overarching goal is very nebulous, I'll make sure that there are threats and challenges that occur regularly enough so that we always have something to post on. Or, at least, that's the goal.
Right, so my idea has become a bit more formed. My character is going to be a British born, Russian researcher, who was one of the first people to head to the Russian rift. He gained gravity control (both making it dramatically weaker and dramatically stronger) thanks to this. He can also dream in 'flashforwards,' where he sees snippets of moments that may be to come, or see events that he had no knowledge of in the past.
@Irredeemable They can grant several or just one, so long as it's within the theme of the Rift. So someone from Britain could technical gain control of like, Air and Water, but not something another Rift would grant.

Right, cool. So my character could have time-seeing powers and gravity manipulation?
@Irredeemable You know, truthfully I hadn't thought about that. I may redesign the map, or leave it as it is for now and give some reason for it. I mean it was flooded by someone with supernatural powers after all. Surely some weird stuff is bound to happen.

True enough.

For the powers, do people only get one set of powers, or do the rifts grant multiple powers?
As for @Gordian Nought's question regarding a short rest... I don't think one can rest on a march for an hour, can they? After all, you are actively doing something. I'm not stopping you from taking one now, but that's another hour spent.

No, marching does not count as a rest action. Reading a book or sitting at an inn drinking and chatting does though, so take that as you will.
