”Mr. Dawson, why don't you have a seat?” He said, gesturing to the brown leather chair he had his hand resting on.

The men behind Adel stepped forward. They each placed a firm hand around his upper arms, half-guiding, half-dragging Adel to the seat. If Adel struggled in any way, their plan would have been quickly subduing him with a blow to the cheek - but besides tensing up, the man didn’t fight.

They shoved Adel into the seat, twisting it so it faced the mirror. Vincent still had that smirk on his face as he picked up a bowl of shaving cream and an applicator brush on the counter. 

Slowly, methodically, Vincent applied shaving cream to Adel's face while speaking.

”Now, my men tell me that you and your spies have decided to make it your home in White Pine. Not that I care too much about that.”

He set down the bowl, picking out a barber's blade instead. He opened it, the fresh gleam of a clean, sharp blade within.

“What I really care about, though, is who set you up to do this.”

The blade pressed against Adel's neck as Vincent leaned over, staring at the man through the mirror.

”So, what'll it be, Canary? You gonna sing?”

"But don't you want to see the fear in their eyes when they see who you really are...? Don't you want dominion of this place, just like how you were unchallenged in Vaal Kastrix?" said the Voice.

Ciara scoffed, immediately thinking of Gulliver and Valen. "I'd love to wipe the smirk off their faces."

"It starts by building a rumor. A rumor of power. This could be the place to start."

She took a deep breath, narrowing her eyes resolutely at the Undermage. "Head Advisor, with all due respect, you have no right to ask me about my intentions. If you want answers..."

She stood from her seat, rising to her full height. 

"You'll have to duel me for them."

@Thayr Excellent WIP so far, however I feel some of their magic may be a bit too overpowered. As long as building towers takes weeks to do instead of minutes or seconds, I might be able to swing with it. Remember that I am aiming for a Skyrim-level of magic. 

When the CS is complete, I will have another look.

The Most Serene Republic

On the other side of the sea lies the Most Serene Republic, or the MSR. Their entire way of life is shaped around the Bones of the sea, a type of coral that is harvested in the republic's lagoon. This harvesting is left in the hands of the Keeper of the Light in her Lighthouse, surrounded by her acolytes.

The Keeper of the Light acts more like a war chief or Minister of War, deciding when and how the nation goes to war. The Keeper of the Light works with the Council of Brothers and the Assembly, however it is the Council of Brothers that gives order to the Brotherhood and enforces the law, and the Assembly that makes laws. The Council of Brothers is a small handful of exceptionally wealthy and noble Brothers that oversee the judicial rule of the republic like a shogun. The Assembly is made up of wealthy merchants, focused on the legislative rule of the republic.

The MSR is made up of ancient stone structures with unique architecture on a mix of floating islands and physical land that dot the lagoon. The weather is tropical in the MSR, allowing perfect temperatures for coral reefs to flourish. Their lagoon is home to a plethora of fish and crustacean species, which are fished.

When it comes to the ultimate power structure, the republic works more like a military government, with the Keeper of the Light having final say in all international discussions. The Council of Brothers have the final say in internal law-enforcement, while the Assembly as the final say in changes to those laws.

The MSR is about 70 squares away from Hathforth.

Description: The angry, enigmatic leader of an unknown organization. Flint often uses code words in his lectures to his members and to-be inaudible. Some upper echelon members claim the ‘Book of the New Order’ has over five hundred instances of code words, ensuring that no one outside can even remotely understand what the in-the-know members are talking about.

There's a reason Flint is so conflicted in his emotions and quick to blow a fuse. Not many years ago, he was, in fact, a mafia boss with a healthy number of districts under his command. That was, at least, until an unknown opposing mafias leader kidnapped his daughter, and demanded he kill his wife or witness his daughter die. It was an impossible decision, but at the behest of his wife, she sacrificed herself. He was given back his daughter after the deed was done, and his enemies took him as a broken man.

Little did they know, as Flint escaped his districts with his daughter, and his mafia crumbled, a new man would be born of the ashes. A man whose Gyft was born out of extreme suffering, and a man who would do anything to ensure that mafias are wiped off the face of the earth.
